Beastmaster of the Ages

”Has the war been going well?” Tianming asked with concern while preparing to leave.

”Of course. Smashing success is the only way to describe it! My good disciple, I truly never expected you’d contribute so much when I brought you to Gladeus,” Lin Xiaodao emotionally said. A twenty-centimeter-long butterfly was flapping its wings on his head.

He gently removed it and gingerly placed it in his hand with a grin.

“So what if they keep their communications secret? Master Chen knows all. We know all of their troop movements and power distribution. Even if they want to set a trap or ambush us, we know as soon as they take action! A few days ago, they sent troops to sneak an attack on Grandsword City, but we found out as soon as they tried to deploy them. They ended up suffering huge casualties. And there’s just too many incidents like that!” Lin Xiaodao’s eyes sparkled.

Tianming had already experienced how useful Yin Chen was in a world war on Orderia. The enemy could hide nothing from it! It simply had too many bodies constantly monitoring them at every moment. After collating the information, it knew the location of the enemies’ experts, armies, and ambushes.

Lin Xiaodao could thus perfectly direct his troops to either feint or have real combat. The Skycross Lin Clan had already destroyed dozens of the opponents’ small bases and taken over a tenth of their territory! “We were already a little stronger than them, but Gladeus is now in Master Chen’s grasp!”

Lin Xiaodao’s praises sent Yin Chen to heaven.

“So conquering the star is just a matter of time and the main thing is the expeditionary forces?” Tianming asked.

“Yes. It’s hard to tell rumor from fact for news from outside Gladeus, but I’m not worried with Little Goddess Ji Ji around!” Next on his list of praise was Ji Ji. He sighed with amazement. “Both of them are nova source war gods! It’ll be terrifying one day when you have your own nova source world… and I hope it’s Ebonia!”

“Ebonia?” Tianming smiled. “That’ll be hard. I’ll have to snatch it from Yi Daiyan and the ebons.”

“You definitely have the tools, so be confident! I chose to war against the ebons because of my faith in you.” Lin Xiaodao looked at Tianming.

“Me? How so?” Tianming didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

“My disciple, do you know what my dream is?”

“To act cool!”

“Goddammit, I’m trying to have a moment here!” Lin Xiaodao rolled his eyes. “A mighty Lin Clan is my dream! My clan’s resurgence where we at least return to our past glory of being in the top three clans!”

“Amazing!” Tianming gave him a thumbs up. That was a grand goal indeed, which showed Lin Xiaodao wasn’t just interested in playing king of Gladeus, but his heart was with the Swordgod Lin Clan.

“However, reality is such that, while I held tight to my dream, our Ancestral Swordheart vanished and a young lass suddenly took the throne and cast our clan down! The Lin Clan is now in peril and I know I’m not enough to overturn it! I can’t beat Yi Daiyan myself, and I can’t beat the ebons in war! For a long time, I’d actually given up!” Lin Xiaodao’s words poured out faster and faster.

As Lin Xiaodao poured his heart out, Tianming respectfully listened quietly.

Lin Xiaodao rested his hands on Tianming’s shoulders. “But my fighting spirit reignited when you and your wives appeared. I believe our clan’s only hope of winning exists in you. Only you can surpass Yi Daiyan when you mature and lead our clan to defeat the ebons, returning us to number one!” Lin Xiaodao had seen too many of Tianming’s cards.

Of course, Tianming had his self-confidence as well, but he needed time, so much time.

“I took the risk of becoming hegemon of Gladeus due to your potential. Disciple, will a thousand years be enough for you to achieve my dream? To provide you that, I’ll need to keep the Hellstar Formation active for over a thousand years. Becoming the hegemon was an excuse to stop the complaints for doing so. Yi Daiyan wants us to distract the ebons, so that’ll take the Infinitum Bodhimanda’s pressure off us. Only infinitum-class astralships can break our astralguard formation, so Yi Daiyan can’t threaten you here because she doesn’t have one! Only the ebons do. So if we can clear out Gladeus and stop their infinitum-class astralship if it comes, we can live in peace. I’ve bet everything on you—will you be able to raise the Swordgod Lin Clan at the end of the thousand years?”
