Beastmaster of the Ages

Outside the Infinitum Swordsea, clouds and mist rolled in the dark sky above the water. There was a burst of trembling white mist, like a giant cocoon sneaking through the dark clouds. In the giant white cocoon, two pairs of enormous round eyes and four delicate arms appeared. Two babies, a boy and a girl, opened the cocoon and looked down at the Infinitum Swordsea.

”Dammit! Tian Jiu leaves for a fifth-level nova source world just as we get here,” the boy said.

”That’s even better. It’ll be easy for us to act. What’s it called?” the baby girl asked.

”Gladeus.”

”Gladeus? Isn’t that where our largest station in the Infinitum Bodhimanda is?” the baby girl asked in surprise.

”Yes!”

”Then what’re we waiting for? Let’s leave now. No one can know about her rebirth.”

”Let’s go!”

......

Tianming’s arrival in Skycross Bladegrave had gone well. With his talent, strength, and temperament, he perfectly integrated into the tenth branch. While Ji Ji was completely merging with Gladeus, Tianming had remained for about ten days in Skycross Bladegrave. With Yin Chen around, he was able to learn a lot about the area; it was the base of the new Skycross Lin Clan.

After dropping Tianming off, Lin Xiaodao began addressing the unification of Gladeus. To take a page out of the ebons’ book, the most important step was to find an excuse to go to war. Of course, it would be even better if they could force the ebons on Gladeus to make the first move.

And Lin Xiaodao knew exactly how to do that.

Ten days later, Gladeus had turned completely pink, including all of its storms, a transformation that shocked all living beings on the planet. There was a dreamy atmosphere throughout the entire place. The news spread from one transmission stone to another as the huge fifth-level nova source world became a terrible mess. Even those in retreat had emerged to join in the excitement, observing and studying the strange change that’d never been seen before. Over the past ten days, the subject of the discussion among more than twenty trillion people was the change in Gladeus’ nova source.

As the etherean of Gladeus, Lin Xiaodao had to give the public an explanation.

”I did it. As Gladeus grows stronger, we’ll all benefit from this together!”

His announcement was puzzling to most people. However, many panic-stricken people were finally at ease after Lin Xiaodao had claimed responsibility for the development. They had all discovered that Gladeus’ new nova source was indeed beneficial for their cultivation. Because the change benefited countless people, the etherean’s great service to the common people was beyond measure.

In addition, Lin Xiaodao had become the eighth rex mundi, and the only person outside Ebonia to reach the top ten on the reges mundi ranking. During this period of time, he was at the summit of his power and more majestic than ever. Meanwhile, the influence of the ebons had been affected ever since Lin Xiaodao surpassed Chi Hun on the reges mundi ranking. Now that Lin Xiaodao had returned, there was tension, though hidden.

From the first day Tianming had arrived on Gladeus, after his battle with Lin Yixuan, he sent out eight billion Yin Chens to devour Gladeus’ top metal veins. Lin Xiaodao had opened several deific-class mines without any hesitation and Yin Chen had gone to town, of course. Although its numbers remained the same, the size of each of its bodies grew considerably in just ten days. Billions of little silver eggs, each the size of a human head, transformed into locusts, spiders, scorpions, galactic swordbugs, and eight-starred ladybugs. Their individual combat power had improved, and one Yin Chen could form a hundred invisible cockroaches.

Tianming had five billion little silver eggs turn into five hundred billion invisible cockroaches so they could spread out all over Gladeus. When Lin Xiaodao learned about it, he dispatched a hundred skypiercer-class astralships to deliver Yin Chens to specific locations. Gladeus was enormous; without any outside assistance, Yin Chen would require several years to cover the entire star. But with a fixed delivery point and astralships for transportation, it might take Yin Chen about a month. Based on the numbers alone, monitoring a super star with a population of more than twenty trillion with just five hundred billion Yin Chens wouldn’t be possible. However, the vast majority of people on Gladeus weren’t worth monitoring. The main areas covered by Yin Chen were territories belonging to enemies of the Skycross Lin Clan. Thus, their enemies wouldn’t be able to escape Yin Chen’s eyes. Even if they were as careful as Tianxi and were able to make decisions without being overheard, Lin Xiaodao could still plan a response to their actions once orders traveled down the chain of command.

”Master controls the two great formations and can adjust the supply of nova source at any time, so we have the advantage on Gladeus. Plus, I have Yin Chen. As long as there isn’t any external interference, cleaning up Gladeus won’t be a problem!” Aside from covering their enemies, Yin Chen also monitored their allies. In that way, internal disorder and betrayal could be effectively prevented.

”In just one month, my eyes will be in every corner of Gladeus!” Lin Xiaodao excitedly said.

”You’re wrong, those are my eyes,” Tianming said.

”My good disciple, what’s the difference between you and me? We’re family!” Lin Xiaodao winked at Tianming.

They would have to rely on Yin Chen for the most important part of their plan.

”One lifebound beast is able to infiltrate any location, monitor the world, and provide intelligence, while the other enhances the formation’s attack and defense capabilities. Such remarkable lifebound beasts are extremely rare! They’re basically war machines born to fight nova source wars and their functions aren’t limited by cultivation level. With you and them, I’ll be more powerful than ever!”

Apart from Tianming and the girls, Lin Xiaodao was the only one in all of Gladeus that knew Yin Chen and Ji Ji’s true roles. He was even more amazed because he had experienced and seen a lot

”They aren’t lifebound beasts, they’re gods of the cosmos!” said Lin Xiaodao. ”You’re like a pile of shit compared to your lifebound beasts.”

”You’ve gone too far! Who compliments someone and then starts criticizing them?” Tianming retorted.

”I say whatever’s on my mind,” he laughed. Then, patting him on the shoulder, Lin Xiaodao exhaled deeply and said, ”What a good deal it was bringing you back to Gladeus! I’m going to turn things around for the Lin Clan and vent all the anger and resentment we’ve suppressed for the past hundred years!”
