Beastmaster of the Ages

Gladeus was a tenth the size of Ebonia. In fact, they were still very far from the star. It continued expanding before their eyes until a certain point when it appeared as a vast continent, which meant they were close. As the astralship descended, it almost seemed like it would crash into the ground. Even an ether-class astralship would have to go through the process of deceleration. If it failed to reduce its speed and slammed into the nova source world, it would cause quakes that spread from the surface to the fusion formation, even if the astralguard formation was activated. Of course, the outcome would be complete destruction of the astralship. On the other hand, if an ether-class astralship crashed into a helical-class world, it would bore a hole through the fusion formation, causing an explosion that would destroy the entire world. That was the reason everyone was extremely careful when piloting astralships. Accidental cataclysmic collisions that caused worldwide extinctions weren’t so uncommon.

”There’s a big difference between high- and low-level nova source worlds, not to mention the Welkin plane!” Those in the astralscape of order didn’t even think that there were living creatures in the world below.

The Archaionfiend finally finished absorbing its ordered manna and evolved to three hundred thousand stars just as the Reaper approached the Gladeusguard Formation.

Not bad!” Tianming hadn’t thought it would succeed. For a myriadstar beast, a thirty-aperture beehive-like ordered manna was a huge leap. Although his lifebound beasts relied on the Primordial Chaos Beasts’ powerful blood vessels to digest and absorb them, the process still hadn’t been easy. They were essentially pushing their limits, so Tianming was very impressed by the Archaionfiend’s success despite how long it took. And that was achieved without the Archaionfiend Eye.

”If it had the Archaionfiend Eye, Xiaoxiao’s progress would be much faster than it is now.” Xiaoxiao was still consuming the caeli of the bee-headed people and was making good progress, even though they were traveling through space. In fact, she said that she was about to reach the second astral phase. However, she was still a little slower than Feiling, who had reached that phase a few days ago.

”Dammit! I now have six different orders, and they must all be simultaneously raised to advance to the second astral phase. It’s so hard for someone like me to improve my cultivation level. There’s no way I can compete with the girls. Fortunately I’m still better at fighting, or I’d be too embarrassed to show my face!”

If it weren’t for their cultivation levels, Feiling and Xiaoxiao would be useless against Tianming in battle. After all, Xiaoxiao only possessed one order. If she were given an Archaionfiend Eye, she would be an absolute monster at increasing her cultivation level.

”It’s okay, Little Fish is behind you. She’s still a solarian,” Ying Huo laughed.

”Fuck off!” Shrugging off the Aeternal Infernal Phoenix that had shrunk into a little yellow chicken and perched on his shoulder, Tianming raised an eyebrow at Xiaoxiao and said, ”Let Wu You out. I want to have a look!”

”It doesn’t want to.” Xiaoxiao was speechless.

”Why not? Is it really ugly now? That’s okay—Tortoise Bro has weird tastes. It likes strong ones. The bigger they are, the more excited it gets,” Ying Huo said.

”Yes, I like fierce girls!” Lan Huang suddenly regained its energy and opened its mouth, panting restlessly.

”Who’d you call ugly? Shut your mouth, you smelly pheasant!”

A dark storm emerged from Xiaoxiao’s body and an enormous beast covered in black scales appeared before them. It had large wings, thick hind legs, sharp claws, ferocious fangs, and a row of bone spikes on its back. Without a doubt, the Archaionfiend was now a killing machine. Its body, soul, and abilities were powerful. With its latest evolution, its claws and teeth had turned into cold white bones. There were three spear-like bone spurs covered in barbs on top of its head. As long as its bone spurs sank into flesh, they would rip out pieces.

Fiercely glaring at Ying Huo, the Archaionfiend released an evil aura that submerged the surrounding area into a hellish abyss. The result of its evolution was extremely fruitful. With three hundred thousand stars, the Archaionfiend had probably also unlocked certain bloodline abilities unique to it.

”Pheasant! If you insult me again, I’ll—”

”Up up!” Before the Archaionfiend could say anything else, a black shadow appeared in front of it eyes and slammed into its abdomen.

The Archaionfiend let out a muffled grunt as it smashed into the walls of the Reaper hard enough for the divine astralship formation to appear. Lin Xiaodao was taken aback and couldn’t help but wonder what the hell they were doing.

”Woohoo! Sister Wu You, you’ve become fatter. You’re so heavy!” Looking very much like a complete idiot, Lan Huang roared and patted its chest.

”Shut up!” The Archaionfiend ferociously stared at it, filled with killing intent.

”Oh?” Lan Huang grew even more excited.

”It’s serious now. Cheer for me, Bros! I’m going to charge! It’s so fun!”

The collision between the two giant beasts shook the Reaper. Tianming and Xiaoxiao were thrown into chaos.

”Were there other changes?” Tianming asked.

”It claims to have awakened a new ability that acts on the bestiae of nova wildbeasts. At the very least, it’s able to interrupt, or even completely break the control of infinitum beastmasters,” Xiaoxiao said.

“Really? Show me when we get to Gladeus,” Tianming said.

”We’ll see.... It’s quite unmotivated at the moment, and still unhappy with you,” Xiaoxiao replied.

Turning around, Tianming said with a smile, ”It’s okay. I know how to punish it!” Behind him, the excited Lan Huang and irritable Wu You continued turning the place upside down with their little “game.”

”We’re about to reach the Gladeusguard Formation. Come on, let’s go take a look!” Tianming and the girls headed to the front of the astralship.

By that point, the Reaper was moving at a slower speed. Tianming looked ahead and saw an endless gray sea that was meant to hide the surface. Operating the astralguard formation at full power would greatly consume Gladeus’ nova source, so the less they used the more they could save.

”Gladeus is huge! It almost looks as big as Ebonia.”

They were both super stars of the astralscape of order. The enormous gray sword that was the Reaper pierced into the thick, dark clouds. They were surrounded by miles and miles of clouds and mist. The cloud layer was formed by the eruption of nova source; thus, one was present in every nova source world, even the sun. Gladeus’ cloud layer was called netherclouds. The gray mist seemed to create a world of death that appeared more gloomy and menacing than Ebonia. That was the reason Gladeus was previously known as Hellstar. Compared to Ebonia, the living environment there was harsher, and the nova source was more violent.
