Beastmaster of the Ages

”Rex Mundi, he’s Lin Lao’er’s grandson, and closely watched. I don’t think he wants his grandson to leave,” Lin Jie said with his head bowed.

”Lin Xiao? Does he still have a right to speak?” Only half of Chi Hun’s face was peeking out from the hood. His thin lips resembled two blades when he spoke.

”Yes. He fought very well in the succession override. In fact, what we’re worried about is Lin Feng’s performance, which will contribute to Lin Xiao’s prestige. It’ll be trouble for our alliance if he meddles in our affairs,” Lin Jie solemnly said.

”I see....” Smiling coldly, Chi Hun looked at the silver divine soul eye in his palm and asked, ”Lin Xiao isn’t a member of the council hall, but a mere branch master, isn’t he?”

”That’s right.”

”Where is he?”

”He seems to have gone to the Oldgod Domain.”

”Well, it’s simple then. I’ll just have someone kill the old man while he’s still a nobody. He won’t be around to cause trouble in the future.” Chi Hun made it seem like a small matter.

”Alright.”

Lin Jie and the others exchanged a look.

”Those on Ebonia who are stronger than him have a certain status. It won’t be easy to kill him.” Lin Yun frowned.

”I have friends from outside the Infinitum Mundus. For instance, the Skydome Mundus,” Chi Hun chuckled.

”Then it’s no problem at all.”

Lin Jie met Lin Yun’s gaze and the two smiled. This was what they were waiting for! With such good news, Lin Yun suddenly realized that the death of his grandson didn’t seem so painful anymore.

Jianxing, when Lin Lao’er and his wife are dead, your enemy will have no one to protect him. When the time comes, I’ll turn him into a human specimen and make him kneel before your grave!

The tension in the Swordsoul Chamber eased a little.

”What about Lin Changkong? Has he come to a decision?” Chi Hun asked.

”We were making progress and he was about to compromise, but something went wrong today. I’ll have to talk to him again,” Lin Jie said.

”Alright.” Chi Hun rose to his feet. ”The matter is simple if he’s compliant, but if he isn’t, just forget about it. Leave him to me. I’ll make him listen.”

”Yes!”

They could see that Chi Hun wasn’t planning on laying low this time, though he had been rather steady in their last secret meeting. Lin Jie and the others watched as the ebon rex mundi walked up to the images of the foggy bee’s nest and pointed at one of them. ”My son, Xiaoyin, has taken six walnuts and is about to leave this bee’s nest. That ring is very interesting. I have my doubts, but I’m still waiting to come to a conclusion. If it’s what I think it is.… Hehe, Yi Daiyan?”

That ring! Lin Jie and the others stared at it in awe.

......

Looking out from the entrance of the council hall, one could clearly see the excitement in the Infinitum Swordsea. Countless Lin disciples were eagerly discussing what had just happened and the sound of their cheers shook the heavens and earth. The soundwaves caused a nova source tide in the Infinitum Swordea, which set off waves as high as a hundred meters. Perhaps it was Tianming’s strength of character and fighting spirit in the face of other experts that resonated with the Lin disciples and made them proud.

At the entrance of the council hall, Lin Xiong, who was built like a giant bear, leaned against the door, smiling as he watched the excitement outside.

”Ku’d be happy to see this if he were still here. Who would’ve thought that after a hundred years of a life worse than death, Brother Hu would watch his grandson bring glory to the Lin Clan and be cheered on by millions?”

Just as Lin Xiong finished speaking, a man with pale golden hair walked out. It was the Ninth Branch Master, Lin Changkong. ”Two Lin disciples fighting, are you sure Ku would be pleased? I think it’s shameful,” he said, his face calm.

”You don’t understand.” Lin Xiong laughed. ”Any clan would be riddled with disease after a long time. When that happens, someone needs to stand up and get rid of the rot so the clan can start from scratch again.”

”Don’t be so sure of yourself. It’s hard to say just who are the ones affected by disease. Maybe it’s you that should be removed,” Lin Changkong said.

”Give me a break.” Lin Xiong glared at him. ”Didn’t you leave the Swordsoul Chamber in a fury? They sold your daughter. If Brother Hu’s grandson hadn’t turned the tide, your daughter would be dead.”

Lin Changkong had nothing to say.

”Come on, let’s go in and talk.” Knocking him out of the way, Lin Xiong walked into the council hall.

......

Inside the bees’ nest.

”Lin Jianxing, hurry up. Get rid of him and come help me!”

Qi Xuanzi and his superfiend were locked in battle with Yi Zhuojun. Without his other two low-sanctuary-class warbeasts, his combat power had slightly fallen. If it weren’t for his divine soul, which had a certain restraint on Yi Zhuojun’s totems, Qi Xuanzi and the superfiend wouldn’t stand a chance against him. Therefore, Qi Xuanzi focused on restricting him and placed his hopes in Lin Jianxing. He still had great confidence in Lin Jianxing’s fighting prowess.

“Lin Jianxing?”

Qi Xuanzi hadn’t paid attention to the other fight for some time. But at that moment, he looked out of the corner of his eye only to find that Lin Jianxing had already turned into a corpse, his heptastar organs completely obliterated. His swordbeasts had rushed out of his sword in a desperate fight against Tianming.

If the swordbeasts wanted to flee, Tianming wouldn’t stop them; however, they chose to continue fighting, so Tianming had no choice but to send them to the afterworld to join Lin Jianxing. Although the swordbeasts were powerful, Tianming and his lifebound beasts fought ferociously, turning the situation around.

Seeing that, Qi Xuanzi couldn’t help but scream out in shock, ”How can this be?”

”Nothing’s impossible. Lin Jianxing is dead and that’s a fact. It’s your turn next.” Yi Zhuojun had almost died at his hands before; this time, he wouldn’t show mercy.

Qi Xuanzi’s heart pounded wildly.

”Six people, and I’m the only one left?” He’d been irritable, which had provoked his desire to kill, but now he felt like he’d been doused in cold water.

”Superfiend!” After realizing that Tianming and his lifebound beasts had killed three heavenly star dragons, Qi Xuanzi was completely terrified. It was obvious he would be next. Avoiding Yi Zhuojun’s spear, Qi Xuanzi and the superfiend left with the superfiend clones at the rear.

”Let him go. He can’t escape.”

Yi Zhuojun was about to chase after him, but was relieved by Tianming’s words.

”Alright.”

With the magnificent daemonlords of light above him, Yi Zhuojun went over to Tianming’s side and helped finish off the last three heavenly star dragons.

”Lin Feng, you’re so fierce. I’m glad we’re on the same side,” Yi Zhuojun said.

Tianming shook his head. There were now five green walnuts in his head, which formed a pentagon. Compared to a hexagon, it was definitely imperfect.

”The six of them showed signs of losing their reason. It might have something to do with the walnuts. I’m fine for now, but we must be vigilant.” He could tell he was still clear-headed.
