Milf Cashback System:Every beauty I spend on makes me richer

Damien Cole was already three drinks in when the man sat down across from him, uninvited, at the bar he’d been going to since his last job let out.

”Buy you a fourth,” the man said, sliding a folded bill across the table before Damien had a chance to answer either way.

He was older, maybe forty, dressed like someone who didn’t usually spend time in places like this and didn’t care that it showed.

”Do I know you?”

”No. But I know your mother, Grace, works for a man named Harrison Hale. And I know the two of you don’t talk much these days.”

Damien’s jaw tightened. ”That’s none of your business.”

”It’s not. You’re right.” The man waited until the new drink landed before continuing, unhurried, settling into the chair like he had nowhere better to be all night.

”I work for someone who has an interest in what Grace is about to do. You see your mom wants to testify against this gentleman. You know say things in a courtroom that would make his life very difficult.”

”Good for her,” Damien said, flat, no real weight behind it.Maybe. Maybe not.” The man shrugged. ”Depends what it costs everyone else around her. You, for instance.

Damien looked up at that.I’m not asking you to do anything today,” the man said, standing, sliding a card across the table with nothing on it but a number.

”Just think about whether you’d want to know more, before she does something that drags both your names through the papers. Call if you’re curious.”

He left the way he’d come, unhurried, and didn’t wait for a response. Damien sat there a while longer, the fourth drink going warm in front of him, the card sitting on the table like it was daring him to leave it there.

He didn’t leave it there. Somewhere between finishing the drink and paying his tab, it ended up in his jacket pocket instead, and he told himself that meant nothing at all.

Damien didn’t call for four days.He told himself it was because the whole thing felt like a scam, or worse, something he didn’t want to get tangled in.

But he kept the card in his wallet instead of throwing it out, and some nights he found himself turning it over between his fingers without meaning to, the way a bruise gets pressed on just to confirm it still hurts.

His mother called once during those four days, a short message asking if he wanted to get dinner sometime soon, her voice careful in the particular way it always was when she was trying not to sound like she was asking for too much.

He didn’t call back. He told himself it had nothing to do with the man at the bar, and mostly believed it.

He called on the fifth day, mostly out of boredom, mostly telling himself it cost nothing to just listen.

The man picked up on the second ring, like he’d been expecting it. ”Glad you called.”

”I’m not agreeing to anything,” Damien said. ”I just want to know what you actually want.”

”Small things, to start. Nothing that puts you at risk.” The man’s voice stayed even, reasonable, like he was doing Damien a favor by keeping the ask this modest.

”Does she mention names, when you talk. Does she seem nervous, or scared, or like she’s changing her mind about any of it. That’s all, for now.”

”And if I don’t want to keep going after that? Then you stop. No hard feelings.” A pause. ”There’s money either way, for what it’s worth. Not a fortune. Enough that you’d notice it.”

Damien sat with the phone against his ear a long moment.”Fine,” he said finally. ”Small things.”

It took time before the reports became anything more than scraps: a mention that Grace had stepped out to meet someone once, an offhand comment about someone named Rowena she once mentioned, a night she’d come home late and wouldn’t say from where.

None of it felt, to Damien, like betrayal exactly. It felt like noticing things he’d have noticed anyway, and mentioning them to someone who happened to be listening.

His mother tried twice more to set up dinner during those two weeks. He canceled once with an excuse about work, and let the second one go unanswered entirely, telling himself both times that he was busy, that it wasn’t connected to anything, that a son was allowed to be a little distant without it meaning something.

It was only later, once the money had started arriving regularly and the questions had gotten more specific, that it stopped feeling like nothing at all.

Devon read the latest report at his desk, unremarkable except for how steadily it had started to come in.

Grace had a meeting scheduled for Thursday, location unconfirmed.” She’d seemed nervous the past few days, more than usual.

He set the report down and allowed himself the smallest measure of satisfaction, the kind that came from watching a plan take exactly the shape he’d expected it to.

Harrison would have called this small. Harrison called most things small that didn’t involve shouting in a boardroom.

But Devon had built his career on the belief that the people who won weren’t the ones who yelled the loudest.

They were the ones who found the quietest door into a house everyone else assumed was locked, and let themselves in without anyone noticing until it was far too late to matter.

He thought, briefly, of the guy on the other end of this, the resentment that had made the whole thing so easy to set in motion, and felt nothing about it one way or the other. It wasn’t cruelty, from where he sat.

It was just leverage, the kind that had always been there waiting to be used, whether or not anyone chose to use it.

Somewhere across the city, Grace sighed as another call to Damien went unanswered. She told herself nothing had changed. He’d ignored her before.

He’d spoken to her harshly before. But a mother’s instincts had a way of noticing the smallest changes. Recently, every conversation felt less like an argument... and more like he was listening too much.
