Chapter 167: Chapter 107: Fourth Refinement Perfected, Entering the Fifth Refinement

Yang Wenqing nodded and sat cross-legged at the eye of the ’Five Qi Returning Yuan Array’.

Vice Director Gao sat cross-legged beside him, also regulating his own aura. Half an hour later, he opened his eyes. He first sensed Yang Wenqing’s aura, then nodded in satisfaction. ”Very good. Continue sitting still. Keep your heart and mind at peace!”

Yang Wenqing did not respond, maintaining his current meditative state.

Then, Vice Director Gao began to form hand seals.

HUMMM—!

The Array beside him began operating at full capacity. Instantly, the concentration of Spiritual Qi in the Quiet Chamber surged. A five-colored Spiritual Light, visible to the naked eye, rose from the Array’s patterns, swirling above to form a funnel-shaped vortex of Spiritual Qi that poured downward.

At the same time, a steady field of power spread out, enveloping Yang Wenqing completely. It isolated him from all external disturbances and subtly soothed his qi and blood, which had grown turbulent with anticipation.

”I will use my Divine Sense to guide and protect your body’s vital points and meridian nodes. At the critical moment, I will use my own Spiritual Qi as a catalyst to help you harmonize the qi of your five organs. You need only guard your mind, circulate your Cultivation Technique with all your might, and guide your body’s qi, blood, and Spiritual Qi to begin integrating your five organs. This process may be painful and cause a sensation of bloating, which is normal. You must endure it.”

”Yes!”

Yang Wenqing replied in a deep voice. His eyes opened and then closed again. He took a deep breath of the dense, pure Spiritual Qi and swiftly cleared his mind of all distracting thoughts. Then, the Heart Method of the Fourth Refinement of the > began to circulate silently at full speed, and the Spiritual Light of his five organs flared in response.

The speed at which Vice Director Gao formed hand seals suddenly accelerated. He let out a sharp cry, ”Array, activate!”

VMMMM~

The ’Circulation Spirit Protection Array’ and the ’Five Qi Returning Yuan Array’ beneath Yang Wenqing erupted simultaneously in a blinding flash of light!

The qi mechanisms of the two Arrays instantly connected, forming an even vaster, composite Spiritual Qi field. The funnel-shaped Spiritual Qi vortex began to spin violently. The Five Elements Spiritual Qi, which the Array had already harmonized, flowed like five docile yet majestic ribbons of colored light, pouring precisely into the Baihui acupoint on the crown of Yang Wenqing’s head.

As the Spiritual Qi entered his body, it transformed under the delicate control of Vice Director Gao’s Divine Sense. It became countless fine, gentle streams of qi that seeped, strand by strand, into Yang Wenqing’s internal organs, which he had already tempered to their absolute limit.

White-gold light from his lungs, cyan from his liver, deep blue from his kidneys, crimson from his heart, and yellow from his spleen—nourished and spurred by this external, pure Spiritual Qi, the five-colored Spiritual Light of his organs suddenly rippled violently, like a placid lake after a stone has been cast into it!

”Guard your mind and observe from within! Do not resist, but do not follow it either!” Vice Director Gao’s voice resounded deep within Yang Wenqing’s mind, carrying a strange, calming power.

Yang Wenqing maintained a sliver of clarity in his mind. Aided by the projection of his Golden Core World, he saw five bands of Spiritual Qi, each with a distinct elemental attribute. Like invisible guide wires, they connected to the surging Five Elements Spiritual Qi that was already overflowing within his five organs.

”Now is the time! Immerse your consciousness, visualize the Five Elements Mutual Generation Diagram, and guide your own Five Qi to merge!”

Vice Director Gao’s Divine Sense acted like a pair of steady, powerful hands, safeguarding the critical nodes of Yang Wenqing’s five-organ circulatory system to prevent the Spiritual Qi from crashing and running rampant. Simultaneously, it transmitted a clear, majestic concept to him: a dynamic vision of the Five Elements Mutual Generation cycle!

A moment of inspiration struck Yang Wenqing. He poured his entire consciousness into the process, actively participating in the cycle with his own will. He felt how the starkness of Metal transformed into the nourishing flow of Water, and how the supreme gentleness of Water nurtured the vigorous flourishing of Wood...

HUMMM...

A faint resonance, audible only to him, echoed from within his body. The barriers between the five luminous organs, once clearly defined, blurred and dissolved at a visible rate.

The Five Elements Spiritual Qi no longer just circulated in sequence; they began to interpenetrate and contain one another, blending seamlessly together.

”Ugh...”

An extreme sensation of bloating, as if his entire body were about to burst from within, flooded Yang Wenqing’s senses. His five organs felt as if they were steeping in a warm solution of Spiritual Qi. Every inch of their tissue trembled as it underwent a fundamental sublimation!

The pores on his skin opened involuntarily, expelling a small amount of grayish-black impurities—the last dregs of filth from deep within his organs that had yet to be fully refined away.

At the same time, his skin began to take on a warm, jade-like luster. On the surface of his body, in the areas corresponding to his five organs, a five-colored radiance faintly swirled before quickly receding back inside.

”The qi and blood are flowing in unison, the five organs are in resonance!”

Vice Director Gao’s eyes lit up. He saw that the integration of the Five Elements within Yang Wenqing’s body had reached a critical juncture. The moment was fleeting.

Without hesitation, he formed a sword finger and pointed from afar at the Shanzhong acupoint on Yang Wenqing’s chest. He mobilized the Spiritual Qi generated from his own five organs and precisely injected it into the center of Yang Wenqing’s five-organ cycle.

This external stream of Spiritual Qi was like the final, critical bridge, grafting everything together.

Yang Wenqing felt a great ROAR in his mind—the violent resonance of his qi, blood, and the five organs’ Spiritual Qi reaching a critical point!

In that instant, within his Golden Core World, he saw that the Five Elements cycle in his body, which had been somewhat sluggish, was now completely unified and flowing smoothly under the push of this external force.

Now, the five-colored Spiritual Light within him blended perfectly, circulating in a self-sustaining, endless loop. It formed a stable microcosm among his five organs, constantly refining the Spiritual Qi in his body and, in turn, nourishing his qi and blood.

The Fourth Refinement, ’Viscera Radiance,’ was now complete!

Yang Wenqing’s aura surged before quickly receding. He felt as if he had been completely reborn. When he opened his eyes, a five-colored radiance swirled within them, more brilliant than before. His aura had become deep and heavy, yet it thrummed with vigorous life.

He exhaled a long breath of turbid qi, which carried a faint, five-colored shimmer. It hung in the air for a moment before dissipating.

Vice Director Gao retracted his Divine Sense, which had been taut the entire time. A hint of fatigue crossed his face, but it was overshadowed by relief and satisfaction. He deactivated most of the Array’s power, leaving only its basic Spirit Gathering effect active.

”Excellent!” Vice Director Gao said, looking at the completely transformed Yang Wenqing. ”Your five organs are now filled with radiance, and your foundation is far more stable than average. Stay here and meditate to stabilize your new state. Carefully comprehend it. At dawn tomorrow, I will take you to the City Bureau.”

Yang Wenqing rose to his feet and bowed deeply to Vice Director Gao once more. ”Thank you, Vice Director, for making this possible. I will never forget this kindness!”

”Haha!”

Vice Director Gao laughed heartily, then added, ”According to regulations, Director Zhang needs to be informed about this. You just focus on recuperating. I’ll go and deal with him.”

P.S. To get these Chapters out together, I’ve been sitting and writing for the last two days straight. I’m getting old, and my body can’t take it, so no Chapter tonight.
