Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1992: Under Nyxʼs Care

Nyx stood at the edge of the lake, its surface still like a polished onyx under the twilight canopy. Exhaustion weighted her limbs, but necessity sharpened her focus. She raised her hands, mana swirling around her fingers like liquid shadow tinged with starlight. The air hummed as she channeled her energy, the remnants of her divine power flickering like a guttering candle.

She turned to a cluster of slender Eldertrees nearby, their bark silvered and smooth. With a sweep of her arm, mana lashed out like a whip, severing trunks at their bases.

Telekinesis guided the fallen timber—no ordinary wood, but ancient material threaded with faint bioluminescent veins—to hover midair. Her hands carved precise motions, and the logs split into planks, beams, and posts, their edges glowing faintly where her mana had cut them.

Next, she knelt and pressed her palms to the earth. Dark energy pulsed, rippling the soil into waves. Stones rose like obedient creatures from the forest floor, arranging themselves into a foundation. The Eldertree planks slotted into place, walls rising in a hexagonal shape, their luminous grain casting soft blue light. Vines, coaxed by Nyxʼs will, wove through gaps, sealing the structure with living mortar.

For the roof, she gathered armfuls of broad, fern-like leaves from the undergrowth. A flick of her wrist sent them layered like scales, reinforced by a lattice of thornless brambles. She paused, breath ragged, and siphoned moisture from the lake, weaving water into ice to glaze the roof—a transparent shell that mirrored the night sky.

Inside, she partitioned the space with a curtain of hanging moss. The living room held a low table hewn from a stump, its edges still sprouting tiny glowing mushrooms, and a pair of curved benches shaped from bentwood. The bedroom was simpler: a raised platform piled with feather-soft moss and lichen, flanked by shelves carved into the walls.

Her final act was to trace sigils onto the doorframe—warding runes that drank greedily from her dwindling mana. They glowed blood-red before fading, invisible guardians against the wild.

When done, she staggered to the lakeshore, sweat mingling with the blood still trickling from her nose. The house stood austere but harmonious, a shadowed gem nestled between trees and water. Its roof glittered with starlight and ice; its walls breathed with the forestʼs own luminescence.

Nyx gazed at her work, then back at Alex, still shielded beneath her barrier.

”Adequate,” she muttered, though the Eldertrees seemed to bow in approval.

Sanctuary, however temporary, was forged.

Using the remaining strength she had left she moved her master through telekinesis to the bedroom and lay him down on the bed. She felt weakly beside the bed, using the bedframe to rest her head thus fell asleep.

Two hours passed in flash before she woke, having recovered a bit, she watched Alexʼs state, it was stable just that he body reek, frowning she stood up, stepping out she went to the lake to take some water in water bowl she created by crystalizing ice magic, by making it durable and unbreakable it could be used and it doesnʼt emit any chill.

Bringing back the basin of water she set on the small table before sitting beside the bed then flicked her fingers, Loki the clothes armor in tattered form was sent away to restore itself, leaving Alex only in his underwear, Nyx began to slowly wipes Alexʼs body using the towel plunged in the warm water, slowly but delicately she wiped her masterʼs body, starting from the head as she moved down, wiping his body clean in the matter of minutes.

Now clean, Alexʼs body was covered by a blanket, he was still unconscious but his breathing was now stable, proof that this little cleaning session did him wonder.

Nyx left the bedroom shortly later to discard the used water and wash away the towel used to clean her master, she dried the towel using magic before folding it, she then put it in the closet.

It was time to also take a refreshing bash, Nyx went outside again, toward the lake, stripping her clothes, her beautiful body sculpted by the hands of the Gods was displayed, despite possessing a modest breast, it didnʼt diminish her overall beauty, her enchanting beauty brighten the surrounding despite her cold disposition.

She entered the lake, while swimming gently she thought about the past. She could not help but admit that both her and her master, no everyone had underestimated Bahamut, despite her past experiences she failed to take every scenario into an account, this could have been more devastating, more people would have died, they lost many people in that fight.

Nyx sighed as she cleanse her body, there was no need to cry over a spilled milk, the best course of action was to do everything from now on not to fail into the same predicament. This world, the Higher World was the real stage, they couldnʼt afford to make mistake like they did in Mysthia.

Hopefully, the others whenever they were, they must survive and do they utmost to prepare for what was about to happen. Knowing Alexʼs women were all exceptional, she wasnʼt worried on the contrary she was looking forward to their progress, what they would each achieve now that the situation had come to this.

What Nyx need to do was to take care of her master ensuing his safety as he recuperate and woke up, from then onward they would plans their future actions. Hopefully, he would not suffer too much after being under that dreadful curse.

Well, those self proclaimed Goddesses better come up with solution for all the suffering Alexʼs and his family went through if not she would personally visit them, Nyx vowed and at the same time in a certain dimension, a certain goddess felt chill down her spine, shaking her head she focused on the task at and, squeezing her remaining divinity and the one taken from her friend, she tried to finish the system she was created, everything must be perfect in order to help their chosen on this final stage, she must perform greatly or else her head would fly, Goddess Mea thought as she focused.
