Who Let Him Play Yugioh? (Re-Upload)

”Field Spell—’Magnetic Field’!”

The Magnetic Field—another newly developed card from Kira’s world. It’s a dedicated field for the Magnet Warriors, boasting impressive sustainability and field control abilities.

Goodwin glanced around, watching as the magnetic field took over the entire dueling area, with a giant magnetic platform floating beneath both duelists’ feet. Pale blue electromagnetic waves danced through the air, with various parts suspended midair.

”Magnet Warriors,” Goodwin sneered. ”What an old, nostalgic name.”

Apparently, in the era he was familiar with, Magnet Warriors had long been eliminated by the meta—a relic of the past, rarely heard of for years.

”Sometimes, being old means being reliable,” Kira chuckled.

After all, this was the King’s legacy—the King’s archetype. From a real-world perspective, as the deck series of Yugi Muto, such a classic protagonist, the greatest advantage is that it always gets support. Even if that support rarely keeps up with the then-current meta, it’s still several tiers above other decks from its own era.

”Now, for ’Magnetic Field’s’ effect,” Kira continued, ”Once per turn, if you control an EARTH-attribute, Rock-type monster of Level 4 or lower, you can target one Level 4 or lower ’Magnet Warrior’ in your Graveyard and Special Summon it!”

At this moment, Kira had Gamma and Beta on his field. ”Magnetic Field” is a dedicated field spell for Magnet Warriors, all of whom are EARTH-attribute, Rock-type, so the activation condition is naturally met.

”I activate ’Magnetic Field’s’ effect! I Special Summon the ’Alpha The Electromagnet Warrior’ that was sent to the graveyard along with Magical Merchant!”

A vortex appeared in the Graveyard, and the Electromagnet Warrior wielding a sword in one hand and a shield in the other emerged to join his two brothers. The three Magnet Warriors stood side by side, their bodies’ electromagnetic pulses resonating with each other, arcing blue electricity through the air.

Goodwin said, ”So you’ve gathered all three Magnet Warriors in an instant.”

”Now, Alpha The Electromagnet Warrior’s effect!” Kira declared. ”When this card is Summoned or Special Summoned, you can add a Level 8 ’Magnet Warrior’ monster from your deck to your hand!”

Goodwin frowned, ”A Level 8 Magnet Warrior?”

Another card popped out of Kira’s deck, which he drew into his hand.

”I add the Level 8 ’Berserkion the Electromagna Warrior’ from my deck to my hand!”

Next, Kira revealed one card from his hand and the other two Magnet Warriors from his field—three Magnet Warriors in total.

”’Berserkion the Electromagna Warrior’ cannot be Normal Summoned. It can only be Special Summoned by banishing Alpha, Beta, and Gamma from your hand, field, or Graveyard from play.

So, I banish ’Alpha The Electromagnet Warrior’ from my hand—retrieved earlier by Beta—and the Gamma and Beta on my field! Three Magnet Warriors, banished from the game!

Magnet Warriors, transformation fusion!”

Alpha, Beta, and Gamma appeared on the field, their bodies disassembling into countless components. These parts, connected by arcing electric currents, rapidly assembled and snapped together, forming limbs and a towering body from the chaos. The magnetic longsword slashed, crackling as it cut through the air.

Fusion Summon: Berserkion the Electromagna Warrior!

At a glance, anyone would recognize this as an upgraded version of the ”Valkyrion the Magna Warrior” that Yugi Muto once fused from his three Magnet Warriors—a new identity for the Electromagnet Warrior archetype.

Kira used the Alpha from his hand as fusion material, while the Alpha revived by ”Magnetic Field” remained on his field. Now, he had both Electromagnetic Berserkion and Alpha on his field.

”A new Magnet Warrior?”

Goodwin frowned slightly.

This Magnet Warrior seemed quite powerful—perhaps troublesome to deal with. But Goodwin, unfamiliar with this long-outdated archetype, couldn’t be sure whether this was an original new card from Kira’s dimension.

”Hmph, it doesn’t matter,” Goodwin sneered inwardly.

Even if you summon a powerful boss monster, I have nothing to fear.

The Sun and Moon Dragons are immortal. Right now, I have Sun Dragon Inti on my field and Moon Dragon Quilla in my Graveyard. With this setup complete, Sun and Moon Dragons are essentially unkillable.

If Sun Dragon Inti is destroyed—by battle or effect—Moon Dragon Quilla in the graveyard will revive. If Quilla is destroyed, Sun Dragon will return from the grave. There’s no ”once per turn” restriction on either effect. In other words, as the sun sets and the moon rises, and the moon sets and the sun rises again, their cycle is endless—their brilliance cannot be extinguished.

Moreover, if Sun Dragon Inti is destroyed by battle, it will also destroy the monster that destroyed it and inflict damage to the opponent equal to that monster’s ATK.

Of course, those are the anime effects; the printed cards are much weaker. The real Sun Dragon can still destroy the opponent’s monster if destroyed by battle, but only deals half its ATK as damage. Also, when destroyed, it can’t immediately revive the Moon Dragon—you have to wait until the next Standby Phase, which is a big nerf.

Kira couldn’t recall all the anime details, but he knew the Sun and Moon Dragons’ combo was virtually immortal—destroying them by battle or effect was pointless.

But recalling that much was enough.

”Battle,” Kira declared.

Goodwin’s lips curled slightly.

Going straight to the Battle Phase… Looks like he wants a mutual destruction between Electromagnetic Berserkion and Sun Dragon, then finish with an attack from Alpha The Electromagnet Warrior.

Heh, go ahead—attack all you like. You’ll soon discover the Sun and Moon cannot be destroyed. The only thing you’ll lose is that hard-earned Electromagnetic Berserkion.

But at that moment, Kira said: ”I attack ’Sun Dragon Inti’ with ’Alpha The Electromagnet Warrior’!”

Goodwin: ”???”

He thought he’d misheard.

Alpha The Electromagnet Warrior—a measly Level 4 monster—attacking?

Alpha, receiving its master’s command, showed no fear, flying straight at its opponent with sword raised.

Goodwin was bewildered.

What’s the meaning of this? Did he call the wrong name by mistake?
