Chaos Heavenly Emperor Technique

Chapter 96: Chapter 096: Alchemy or Exploding the Furnace?

”What kind of elixir is this?” Yuan Qianshen stared at Ling Feng with a face full of doubt.

”This is an elixir for healing a senior.”

Ling Feng smiled faintly, ”Although I haven’t taken your pulse directly, senior, I can see from the expression on your face that it’s very stiff, so no matter what, you always seem to be cold as ice. According to my diagnosis, this isn’t due to your nature, but because when you were young, you mistakenly consumed something with Cold Evil Energy. Although it changed your physique and accelerated your cultivation development—”

Ling Feng paused, then continued, ”It also left some Cold Evil Energy residual in your body, which has caused you to suffer from its backlash, has it not?”

”This...” Yuan Qianshen looked at Ling Feng unbelievably, his eyelids twitching wildly, ”How do you know?”

”A physician observes, listens, inquires, and feels the pulse,” Ling Feng said calmly. ”The reason why senior’s alchemy accomplishment has not improved is not due to a lack of talent, but because of the presence of that evil energy, which causes a hint of coldness in the True Yuan in your body. That makes it easy to lose control of the Elixir Fire when you are summoning it, right?”

”Exactly.” Yuan Qianshen’s heart could no longer be described as surprised; it was more like a torrential wave had been lifted.

”Could it be that young friend Ling Feng comes from a Daoist Medical Family?” Elder Lee looked at Ling Feng with disbelief.

They were somewhat aware of Yuan Qianshen’s hidden injury, but since Yuan Qianshen didn’t take it seriously himself, they, as outsiders, naturally wouldn’t interfere.

”A Daoist Medical Family, huh...” Ling Feng pursed his lips, ”No, I’m just a common physician.”

”Heh heh.” Wen Tingguang squinted his eyes and laughed. Indeed, Ling Feng was not from any Daoist Medical Family, but his background was much more significant than that.

Heir of Medical Saint!

But since Ling Feng himself didn’t say it, he naturally wouldn’t reveal it either.

”This Evil Origin Pill is designed to clear away the Cold Evil Energy in senior’s body, if senior trusts me...”

”Of course, I trust you,” Yuan Qianshen said without hesitation, ”You are indeed a hundred times more insightful than those quacks! Thank you, Ling Feng!”

Yuan Qianshen knew his condition well and had also sought the help of Daoist Doctors.

Unfortunately, those heirs of Daoist Medical Families were very arrogant. For someone like him, an elder of little significance in the Cangqiong Sect, they were a dime a dozen; they wouldn’t easily offer their help for treatment.

As for the Divine Country Imperial Doctors, they were even more haughty.

And those so-called Divine Doctors were basically charlatans.

So, after going back and forth, Yuan Qianshen simply gave up on treatment and has been enduring, depleting his True Yuan to resist the evil energy.

When he was younger, that Heaven and Earth Spiritual Item indeed sped up his development, but because it wasn’t processed properly before consumption, it brought this hidden problem, leaving him to wonder whether it was a blessing or a curse.

”There’s no need to be polite.”

Ling Feng nodded slightly; there were some people he wouldn’t bother treating even if they offered him a mountain of gold, and others he would willingly heal without taking a cent.

Although Yuan Qianshen might have a strange temper, Ling Feng could see he was a good person.

”Alright, let’s start preparing the medicinal ingredients!”

Yuan Qianshen and Elder Lee exchanged glances as they each headed to the storeroom to gather various medicinal ingredients.

Before long, they both returned with trays in hand and took Ling Feng to Elder Lee’s usual Elixir Room to begin alchemy.

”Kid Feng, I’ve witnessed your medical expertise and martial techniques, but I wonder if your alchemy is also so Heavenly Resistance!” Wen Tingguang said with a flourish.

”You’ll know in a moment,” Ling Feng smiled faintly, asking Elder Lee to place the ingredients for the Yunshen Pill beside the Pill Furnace and then said calmly, ”I’m going to start refining the elixir now. My True Qi Cultivation is insufficient to sustain the furnace fire continuously, so Elder Lee, could you please control the temperature according to my instructions?”

As he spoke, Ling Feng began to count the materials one by one and took out the Purple Spirit Crystal.

The Purple Spirit Crystal was of utmost importance in refining the Yunshen Pill.

”Of course, there’s no problem.” Elder Lee nodded, also curious in his heart. Could Ling Feng, at such a young age, really refine an ancient elixir like the Yunshen Pill?

Even if his medical skills were exceptional, at most, he would be able to refine some Medicine Pills, but Spirit Pills and Medicine Pills were utterly different things.

”Hmm.” Ling Feng made a space and gestured for Elder Lee to stand by and control the fire, while he himself picked up some Demon Cores that had been prepared in advance and tossed them directly into the Pill Furnace.

”Wait a minute!”

Elder Lee quickly interjected, ”Young friend Ling Feng, what are you doing?”

Ling Feng looked bewildered, placing the Demon Cores in front of him and said in amazement, ”I’m putting the Demon Cores into the Pill Furnace to refine them.”

”Young friend Ling Feng, don’t you need to process the alchemy materials? Shouldn’t you gently heat these Demon Cores with a gentle fire to drive out the impurities?” Elder Lee reminded.

”Are you talking about this?” Ling Feng said with a faint smile, ”I’ve already processed them.”

”Handled... it’s been handled?” Elder Lee’s eyelids twitched violently as he turned to look at Wen Tingguang and Yuan Qianshen.

The crowd shook their heads; no one had seen what Ling Feng had done just now. He had merely touched the Demon Cores briefly—could that be what they called ”handling” it?

”Let me have a look.” Elder Lee was skeptical as he took a Demon Core from Ling Feng’s hand, only to discover, with utter astonishment, that the impurities inside the Demon Core had indeed been meticulously cleaned. Shining light upon it, the Demon Essence within was clear and luminous. Even if he had done the cleaning himself, the result would not have been better.

But how in the world had Ling Feng managed to do that?

Such a feat would require terrifying speed and incredible observational skills!

A young man not even twenty years old, capable of defeating adversaries in the Magnetic Condensation Realm while merely in the Qi Condensation Realm, a master of medicine, and on top of that, an Alchemy Master!

Looking at Ling Feng’s exceptionally handsome face, Elder Lee suddenly felt an urge to strangle him.

How could the heavens be so unfair, creating someone so perfect?

”It seems Ling Feng, the young friend, has his own way of handling things. I was a bit too surprised. Please continue,” Elder Lee, though somewhat reluctant to admit it, could not deny the evidence before his eyes. The Demon Cores Ling Feng processed in three seconds were even cleaner and clearer than those Elder Lee would spend several hours on.

In no time at all, Ling Feng tossed all the materials into the Pill Furnace haphazardly, without any method to it. It looked more like messy cooking than Alchemy.

Having learned from the previous lesson, Elder Lee did not interrupt Ling Feng this time; instead, he silently thought, ”Humph, with such an Alchemy method, you would be lucky to succeed!”

With doubts filling his heart, Elder Lee, upon Ling Feng’s indication, began to control the temperature of the Pill Furnace, gradually increasing it.

”Elder Lee, keep raising the temperature of the Pill Furnace. After reaching three hundred degrees, maintain that temperature, and don’t let it drop,” Ling Feng said indifferently.

Elder Lee was silent, but inwardly he shook his head, ”It’s over, this batch of Elixirs is ruined! But it’s good that I have the Elixir Recipe. I can just refine it again later.”

”This method of Alchemy is truly unheard of.” Yuan Qianshen couldn’t help but rub his eyes. How could Alchemy be so careless? What he was producing must be merely dregs, right?

Wen Tingguang and Yue Yunlan, though they didn’t have experience in Alchemy, couldn’t help but frown at Ling Feng’s technique.

The most important aspect of Alchemy is temperature control, with the gentle and fierce fires alternating slowly to fully activate the medication.

However, Ling Feng was having Elder Lee maintain a high temperature, an error that not even the most ignorant of the Outer Sect could possibly make.

Yet, as time passed, those materials in the Pill Furnace gradually melted into a crystal-clear liquid, emitting a fragrant aroma.

Though the lid of the furnace had not been lifted, the pleasant fragrance was already refreshing to the soul.

”How can this be?” Yuan Qianshen and Elder Lee sniffed the fragrance in wonder. How could such a rough technique yield an aroma that became even purer during the smelting process? It was utterly bewildering!

”Alright, up next is the most critical step, Elder Lee. Pay close attention to my commands, and don’t hesitate,” Ling Feng instructed.

”Understood,” Elder Lee perked up his ears, waiting for Ling Feng’s command.

”Cool it down, drop a hundred degrees!”

Elder Lee immediately complied, and the temperature hastily dropped to just over two hundred degrees. After only thirty breaths, Ling Feng commanded again, ”Raise the temperature, spike it up by a hundred degrees—make it sharp!”

”Spike it up?” Although Elder Lee was puzzled, he nodded and carried out the instruction, fiercely driving the True Yuan within him, causing the Elixir Fire to surge in an instant. The temperature of the Pill Furnace shot up rapidly.

Maintaining it for less than thirty breaths, Ling Feng again ordered, ”Cool it down, decrease by fifty degrees!”

”Raise the temperature!”

”Cool it down!”

”Raise the temperature!”

”...”

Ling Feng continuously had Elder Lee adjusting the temperature of the Pill Furnace, with dramatic rises and drops. At times, the temperature soared to over five hundred degrees.

Elder Lee was completely confounded by Ling Feng’s methods; this was not Alchemy—he was just finding ways to blow up his own Pill Furnace!

He silently mourned for his Pill Furnace, fearing that such actions would surely shorten the lifespan of his Treasure, the Ultimate Elixir Furnace.

In less than half an hour, Ling Feng had Elder Lee adjust the temperature eighty-one times. To Elder Lee’s slight relief, his Pill Furnace proved stout, not exploding under the strain.

However, he knew without looking that there couldn’t be any Elixirs left inside. Even an Immortal Pill wouldn’t withstand such ”torment.” Probably all that remained was dregs.

”Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!”

Elder Lee shook his head with a sigh. The materials for the Yunshen Pill would have been enough to buy three or four pieces of Treasure Level defense equipment!

What Elder Lee found most intolerable was that, throughout the process, Ling Feng seemed utterly distracted. While issuing him orders, Ling Feng was also handling another batch of Evil Origin Pill materials. It seemed as if he was just casually giving directions.

If that method could truly produce an Elixir, then Elder Lee might as well take Ling Feng’s surname from now on!
