How Could the Villainous Young Master Be a Saintess?

“Whew.”

Vinny, who had finally escaped the battlefield of romantic carnage, let out a breath of relief. After that, Aesphyra unexpectedly did not press the attack. She hopped lightly down from the long desk, tossed her hair, and left with effortless grace. She did not pry too deeply, leaving Vinny his own private space.

Because she could guess that if Vinny and Isatia were together, it basically could not be because of anything especially private. If she pestered him too much at a time like this, it would only make him dislike it. After all, not everyone liked people with no sense of boundaries.

It was essentially impossible for anything to happen between the two of them.

If you asked why she was so confident, it was because she was very certain that with Vinny’s personality, absolutely no one could develop faster than she had. Besides, those things had only happened at noon today.

So Aesphyra dared to be certain that Vinny staying with Isatia after school today was definitely for something he had no choice but to do.

Beside him, Isatia watched Aesphyra leave, several traces of deeper meaning flashing through her eyes.

“Student Isatia, how have you been feeling lately?”

Vinny looked toward Isatia. Aesphyra had already left the classroom, and Vinny began asking about Isatia’s current “condition” like a doctor.

“It has been some time since the last treatment.”

Isatia was silent for a moment.

“Although it has not fully relapsed yet, I can clearly feel that the dizziness attacks from time to time. Usually, it happens right after I wake up. My mind becomes very muddled, I can’t see anything clearly, and I can’t think.”

“I see.”

Vinny nodded. Several months had indeed passed since last time. It really was time to “change Isatia’s medicine.”

However, how should he put it?

This left Vinny somewhat unsure what he should do next. At this rate, Isatia would have to come to him every few months to hold a concert. In the short term, that was fine, but over the long term, would it not truly become far too troublesome?

Wouldn’t this create the feeling that Isatia could not leave him for the rest of her life??

“Mm. It interferes with things quite a bit.”

Isatia looked at her long, fair fingertips, like white jade branches.

“Including every night. As soon as the sky darkens, my will urges me to enter dormancy. Otherwise, perhaps the situation will worsen.”

“It sounds like it’s getting more serious by the day.”

Vinny thought for a moment.

“But today isn’t the weekend, and we still have class tomorrow. It may not be very convenient for me.”

If he turned into Vanessa today and held a concert for Isatia, how was he supposed to attend class tomorrow?

“But I do have a way to ease it for you a little.”

Vinny thought for a moment.

“When I was doing alchemy last time, there were some byproducts. Mm, they had some extra material mixed in.”

The extra material here naturally referred to Saintess blood.

Isatia naturally understood as well.

“Use those to hold on for now. Once the weekend comes, I’ll change your medicine.”

“All right.”

Isatia nodded.

After saying this, Vinny and Isatia walked out of the classroom together. After the two left the teaching building, they turned into the small alley beside it, and when they came out, they arrived in front of the alchemy hall.

Normally, there might still be a few hardworking students staying in the alchemy laboratories to conduct experiments. But now, everyone had left. Classes were over, teachers had gone back to prepare lessons, and students had also gone back to do homework while preparing for the Carillian Chosen One Granted by God Tournament.

Everyone was very busy. After the students learned that there was only one month left before the Chosen One Granted by God Tournament, they stopped even doing experiments and all rushed to crowd into the arena.

Even those specially recruited students who devoted themselves wholeheartedly to alchemy were the same. Most of them usually had only academic knowledge about alchemy in their heads, yet even these academic students, after hearing that the Chosen Tournament was about to begin, set aside their experiments and seized the present to improve as much as they could.

Then someone might ask: if everyone went to the arena to practice real combat, didn’t that mean no one was really practicing?

Of course not. In reality, when others practiced and you did not, it meant others might as well not have practiced, while your progress had effectively gone backward.

It seemed everyone did not want to leave themselves with regrets.

“This place usually isn’t this quiet.”

Seeing that Isatia did not seem to have come to the alchemy hall much before, Vinny said,

“I imagine it has to do with the Chosen One Granted by God Tournament. Even those medicine jars have gone to the arena.”

“What are your plans?”

Isatia took up the topic.

She did not ask whether Vinny intended to participate. Instead, she assumed that he would participate and asked what he planned to do.

“Me? What plans could I have? Student Isatia, you know me. I only have one plan, and that is to go all out.”

Vinny smiled.

“You need to work hard too. When we get on the field, if the two of us run into each other, I won’t hold back just because it’s you, all right?”

“And conversely, you’re the same.”

“Of course.”

As she spoke, Isatia’s sharp, faintly rippling purple eyes looked toward Vinny seriously.

“I very much look forward to the day I get to play against you.”

“Really? I can’t look forward to that at all.”

Vinny shook his head.

“Each and every one of you is a terrifyingly powerful monster. Honestly, Carillian Academy is full of capable people. I can’t guarantee I won’t be kicked off the stage in the first round.”

“Then, have you thought through changing my medicine?”

Isatia asked instead.

“If you change my medicine now, you’ll be adding one more formidable opponent.”

“There’s no helping it. Student Isatia, you already said you’re looking forward to facing me.”

Vinny did not care about this at all. The corners of his lips even curved slightly.

“This young master has never done anything that disappoints a girl’s expectations.”

Hm?

No. Wait.

The instant he finished saying that, Vinny felt something was a little off.

No, wasn’t something a little off? How had words like that just slipped out??

He kept feeling that they were not quite appropriate.

After all, Isatia was already an aggressively proactive fate heroine.

Didn’t his words feel a little like he was flirting with her??

Sure enough, as soon as those words fell, they drew Isatia’s gaze.

[Virtue +50.]

[Current Virtue: 11939.]

Uh, uh. He had not made her dislike him, right??

Vinny knew the other party’s emotions had fluctuated, but he did not know whether that fluctuation was positive or negative.

But judging from her expression, it probably was not negative.

The two arrived outside a storeroom. Vinny took out the small key he carried with him and opened the door.

“This is our class’s storage room. The alchemy works of the students in our class are stored inside.”

Vinny explained,

“Only this class and the teachers of this class have keys to this storeroom.”

As he spoke, Vinny brought Isatia to a stop in front of a locked metal enchanted chest.

Yes. Even the chest had been enchanted. It was not merely an iron box with a lock.

In this regard, the cost Carillian Academy invested was something other academies could not even imagine.

Vinny took out another key on his keyring, opened his storage chest, took out a bottle of green potion, and handed it to Isatia.

“This is the bottle.”

“Mm.”

Isatia nodded. She did not say thank you. Her meaning had always been very clear: if Vinny needed anything, he could come to her.

The two left the alchemy hall and parted at the entrance.

Watching Isatia leave, Vinny had only just turned around when he nearly collided head-on with the pink-haired girl standing there in a daze.

“Holy crap?!”

Vinny froze. Only after a second did he realize who was in front of him.

The bright and gorgeous pink-haired girl also seemed to have been startled. Seeing that Vinny had almost failed to steady himself, she subconsciously thought to take a few steps back.

“Why are you here? You scared me to death. Do you make no sound when you walk?? What are you doing here? Acting so sneaky.”

Vinny glared at Margaret in annoyance.

“Senior Vinny, I only just came out from around that corner, and I wasn’t acting sneaky.”

Margaret composed her expression and pointed at the corner behind her.

“If you weren’t acting sneaky, then why did you come here? School’s already over and you came here. Is there candy to eat here?”

Vinny frowned and asked. He had not expected to run into Margaret here.

“Yes, school is over.”

Margaret nodded.

“That is why I am on my way home.”

“Does your dorm pass through here?”

Vinny asked.

“Yes. It’s in that area.”

Margaret pointed behind Vinny.

“If Senior Vinny doesn’t believe me, you can come with me and take a look.”

“No, why would I go?”

Vinny’s expression turned strange.

A second-year senior following a first-year junior girl to the entrance of her home, combined with the current public-opinion environment around the two of them, could very easily cause a misunderstanding.

“Uh, but Student Vinny, you questioned whether I was lying?”

Margaret looked troubled.

Vinny glanced in the direction Margaret had pointed. That place seemed to be the current first-year dorm area, and not just an ordinary dorm area either. It was the special dorm area for the top five in the year.

So she was even in the top five of her year??

“What a coincidence, then. You happen to pass through here after school.”

“Yes. Isn’t it such a coincidence?”

A gentle smile hung at the corners of Margaret’s mouth.

“I clearly only saw Senior Vinny this morning, and I did not deliberately go looking for Senior Vinny either. But for some reason, we always happen to meet by chance.”

“Speaking of which, Student Vinny, was that senior just now your classmate? Is she sick?”

Margaret asked curiously.

“? What sickness? What are you talking about?”

Vinny looked at Margaret strangely.

Of course, he could not reveal any information about Isatia’s current condition to Margaret, whose identity was sensitive.

“Why would you say that?”

“Because I just saw that senior come out, and it seemed like she was holding a bottle of medicine.”

“That was a stamina potion.”

Vinny said in annoyance.

“Junior Margaret, you don’t understand alchemy very well, do you? With that color, you can tell at a glance it’s a stamina potion, can’t you?”

Vinny was not lying. It really was a stamina potion, only it was a stamina potion with Saintess blood added. If one looked carefully, the liquid inside the potion would present a faint pink outline, a little like the Tyndall effect.

However, there was no way the other party could have looked that carefully.

“Eh, so that’s how it is.”

Margaret nodded with a look of realization.

“I thought that senior had some kind of illness.”

“What illness could she have? Everyone here is a transcendent. What illness could there be? Junior Margaret, your imagination is a little too rich.”

Vinny retorted.

“But I was often sick when I was little.”

Margaret said,

“And even now.”

“Even now?”

Vinny looked Margaret up and down strangely. Her complexion was fair with a rosy glow, and she did not look sickly at all.

“Where are you sick? Princess sickness?”

“No, it’s...”

“Lady Margaret, Lady Margaret!”

Just then, a voice came over. A young girl ran out from around the corner, panting. When she saw Margaret, she let out a sigh of relief.

“Lady Margaret, you were walking far too quickly. Didn’t we agree that you would wait for me?”

“Sorry, Zhuosha.”

Seeing the young girl’s anxious state, Margaret apologized.

“? Why would you appear here?”

The young girl named Zhuosha had been about to continue saying something, but after seeing Vinny standing in front of Margaret, she froze. Then she stepped forward warily, as though prepared to protect Margaret at any moment.

“Junior, that question of yours is a little absurd. No matter how you look at it, this young master is still a seasoned second-year senior. Isn’t it a perfectly normal thing for me to appear in Carillian Academy?”

“Forget here. It would be very normal for me to appear in any dark corner or any sewer drain of Carillian Academy.”

Vinny’s teasing was full of mockery.

“Taking ten thousand steps back, this place isn’t your home. It’s all Carillian Academy territory. If I want to run wild somewhere, then I run wild there. That’s my freedom, isn’t it?”

“Zhuosha, don’t be like this. Didn’t I tell you? This Senior Vinny is a very good person.”

Seeing this, Margaret spoke helplessly.

“Ah, ah, Lady Margaret, you... there are some things you still don’t know.”

Zhuosha looked at Vinny, then shifted her helpless gaze back to Margaret.

Perhaps because Margaret was present, she also found it improper to keep bickering with Vinny.

“All right. In any case, let’s go back first, Lady Margaret.”

“All right.”

Margaret looked somewhat awkwardly at Vinny and politely gave him a gaze that said “excuse me.” Then, accompanied by Zhuosha, she left.

“Seriously baffling.”

Vinny watched the two of them for quite a while before finally spitting out those words.

“Ow!”

Vinny looked at the sky. It was already almost completely dark.

All he could say was that time always passed very quickly when a person was not paying attention.

Bad. Those girls had delayed him for this long. Shicodale was probably already anxious at home waiting for him to eat.

Although Vinny had told her to eat first by herself and not wait for him, Vinny knew that if he did not go back, that little idiot definitely would not touch the utensils first.

Vinny picked up his bag and rushed toward the dorm.

When he passed by the arena, it was just as he had expected. Tonight, the arena was in full swing.
