Immortal of the Nine Realms

According to Fu Donghai, the Multi Treasure Trading Company was established by a powerful cultivator—a Second Rank Loose Immortal who had presided over Yunlu City for years.

Though he came from humble origins and lacked the backing of a great family or sect, he had sworn brotherhood with another Second Rank Loose Immortal from the Nine Immortal Mountain Holy Land. Due to this connection, few dared to stir trouble with him. Even the four great noble families, despite their influence, adhered to his rules when conducting business here.

”Brother Fu, I’ll just browse around on my own. No need to follow me,” said Fang Chen as he stepped into the trading company with a slight smile.

Fu Donghai hesitated for a moment before shaking his head. He insisted, ”Lady Long instructed me to accompany you to prevent trouble. You’ve just won a fortune from many people today. Undoubtedly, some will be watching you closely.”

Fang Chen chuckled and remarked, ”This place belongs to Yunlu City’s ruling power. Even if someone bears a grudge, they wouldn’t dare make a move within these walls. Meet me at the entrance later.”

Fu Donghai gave him a deep look before nodding and leaving.

Fang Chen set about searching for the nine spiritual materials required for the third realm of his Radiant Divine Eyes. Very soon, he had acquired eight of them, spending six thousand mid-grade spirit stones. This whopping amount was enough to buy a formidable spiritual treasure with a spiritual imprint.

”My lord, are you refining a pill? Our trading company offers a vast collection of rare elixirs as well. Perhaps you’d like to take a look?” recommended a shop assistant who trailed behind Fang Chen eagerly.

Fang Chen’s generous spending of six thousand spirit stones marked him as a VIP. The trading company took great care in tending to their wealthier patrons.

”I need a tael of Immortal Dragon Blood. Do you have it?” inquired Fang Chen casually.

Immortal Dragon referred to true dragons that had ascended to the Loose Immortal Realm or Celestial Beings Realm. In Central Continent, such creatures had long vanished. Their blood was a treasure that could only be found in Immortal Ruins.

The assistant’s eyes gleamed and chimed, ”Immortal Dragon Blood? That’s no ordinary item. My lord, you’ve come to the right place. However, such a treasure is costly. Are you certain you can afford it?”

Fang Chen smirked and asserted, ”Multi Treasure Trading Company really lives up to its name. Tell me the price.”

The shop assistant replied, ”As you know, true dragons are nearly extinct, making Immortal Dragon Blood extremely rare. It must be retrieved from Immortal Ruins, making it even more valuable. For one tael, eight thousand mid-grade spirit stones should suffice. What do you think?”

Fang Chen raised an eyebrow. ”Eight thousand? That’s lower than I expected. I assumed such an item would require high-grade spirit stones. If you truly have it, I’ll take a tael.”

His straightforward acceptance left the assistant momentarily stunned before he quickly bowed and said, ”Please wait here, my lord. I must seek the shopkeeper’s approval.”

Meanwhile, on the second floor of the trading company, a man stood by the window and watched Fang Chen from above. When the assistant arrived, the man called him inside.

”Young Master Sun,” greeted the assistant respectfully.

Sun Gu came from an influential family and was also a minor shareholder of the trading company. More importantly, he was a Sword Duel Palace’s master.

”What did that customer request?” asked Sun Gu curiously.

”He wishes to purchase a tael of Immortal Dragon Blood,” replied the assistant promptly.

A voice scoffed from the shadows. ”Immortal Dragon Blood? A mere sword cultivator seeks such a rare treasure?”

The assistant shuddered as another figure stepped forward. His presence was cold and imposing, and his gaze carried the sharpness of a blade.

The assistant immediately dropped to the floor after recognizing the man as the true master of this trading company.

The man was none other than Zhao Mingxuan, the son of a great noble family.

He turned to Sun Gu and said, ”I heard that the Sun Family suffered a loss at the hands of the Long Family lately and that your useless brother even lost a soul split of his. Xu Yan even tried to avenge him but failed miserably. They even seized your Sword Duel Palace. That sword cultivator below was the one who helped Long Ruo. As long as you agree, I will not let him leave here in one piece.”

Sun Gu’s smile remained unchanged. He responded, ”Ascension Realm cultivators can’t enter the Sword Burial Heavenly Steps. The sword cultivators that both families have found are all below the Ascension Realm. Unfortunately, most of the sword cultivators lacked the sword domain. I spectated the duel. Fang Chen... his sword domain surpasses even that of Nangong Yu.”

He laughed lightly and continued, ”I’m not here to avenge my brother’s humiliation. I simply don’t wish for this man to enter the Sword Burial Heavenly Steps. The Long family already has too much of an advantage. If you wish to bend the rules for me, I’d appreciate it.”

Zhao Mingxuan chuckled and replied, ”This is hardly bending the rules. No one will ever know.”

Turning to the assistant, he ordered, ”Tell him that Immortal Dragon Blood is delicate and requires a storage container to preserve its freshness. Lead him to my personal residence.”

The assistant’s heart pounded. He had already pieced together their intent, but with Zhao Mingxuan’s cold gaze upon him, he dared not hesitate. He fearfully replied, ”I understand, my lord.”

Zhao Mingxuan waved him off.

Once the assistant left, Sun Gu smirked and commented, ”You’re relying on a mere servant to deceive him? What if Fang Chen grows suspicious and simply leaves?”

Zhao Mingxuan shook his head and assured him, ”My servants are well-trained. There will be no flaws. Let’s go wait in the courtyard. I’ll summon Nangong Yuancheng as well. Since he’s furious about his loss today, let’s give him a chance to vent.”

Sun Gu chuckled. ”You’re shrewd. One favour for two people.”

”You’re the same,” replied Zhao Mingxuan with a slight grin.

A short while later, the assistant led Fang Chen to a secluded courtyard.

He politely informed, ”Sir, the Immortal Dragon Blood is stored within. Please follow me inside.”

Fang Chen stepped forward without doubt. ℯℯ𝑙.

Inside the courtyard, three figures stood, examining him.

Immediately, the assistant stepped back and lowered his gaze.

In the blink of an eye, sword cultivators besieged the courtyard from all directions. The strength of these sword cultivators was not ordinary, with the weakest being in the Fusion Realm.

Among them, there was one whose mere gaze bore down upon Fang Chen with a suffocating pressure. His strength rivaled Wang Zhenlong.

A Tribulation Realm Sword Cultivator!

Fang Chen’s lips curled into a smirk. He nonchalantly said, ”I was told that Multi Treasure Trading Company follows the strict rules of a Second Rank Loose Immortal. Isn’t he someone who maintains order in Yunlu City? But now, I see that rules are nothing more than words.”

His gaze swept over them indifferently.

Though he didn’t recognize Zhao Mingxuan or Sun Gu, the presence of Nangong Yuancheng confirmed everything.

The trap had been set. But who really is the hunter and who is the prey here?
