Immortal of the Nine Realms

Chapter 974: Too Many Debts Won’t Weigh You Down

As soon as Sun Yi’s words fell, he felt a heavy blow to his head. His knees suddenly went weak, and he collapsed to the ground.

At that moment, Sun Yi realized he had been forced to his knees. He was kneeling before a sword cultivator. That was an utter disgrace.

He immediately attempted to stand up, but his head was struck again, making him feel dizzy.

Sun Yi glanced at his companions and noticed that they were kneeling just like him.

Sun Yi’s face twisted in fury, and he glared at Su Mo, yelling, ”Su Mo!”

At this moment, Su Mo wore an odd expression, her gaze fixed on the direction behind Sun Yi and the others.

Pan Shan Monarch asked in a low voice, ”Lord, should we kill them all?”

Su Mo gulped upon hearing that. As the Empress of the Giant Immortal Sect, she held one of the highest positions in the Central Continent. Aside from the few reclusive ancestors, she had met almost all of the major immortals in the sect. However, neither Stone Dragon nor Pan Shan Monarch was someone she had encountered before.

Pan Shan Monarch gave her the impression that he was far stronger than an Immortal King. In other words... he was likely another Ancestor.

With two Ancestors appearing to support Fang Chen—even calling him lord—Su Mo was utterly shocked. She realized that she knew far too little about Fang Chen.

Sun Yi shook his head violently and stared hard at Fang Chen. ”You really dare to kill me!?”

”My family, the Sun family of the Prison Wind Lands, is one of the four great noble families. We have three Third-Transformation Immortals stationed in the family. With a mere thought, this place will be reduced to ash. The Loose Immortals here are nothing in front of my family! Where I am from, these people wouldn’t even deserve a seat! They’ll be left standing and wouldn’t dare complain! Try touching a single hair on my body! See what happens!”

Empress Su Mo interrupted, ”Sword Leader Fang... this matter... should be considered carefully. Please calm down.”

Profound Immortal Xiu Yue’s expression kept changing. She didn’t even dare to make eye contact with Fang Chen.

She had realized that neither Fang Chen nor Sun Yi were figures she could afford to offend. Yet, she seemed to have offended both of them!

She knew how vindictive Sun Yi was. It wouldn’t be strange if he retaliated against her after what happened today.

Fang Chen smiled and nodded. ”Empress Su Mo, I am calm.”

Su Mo was relieved immediately. Just when she was about to say something to ease the atmosphere and plead for Sun Yi, she heard Fang Chen say, ”Pan Shan, take off his pants.”

Sun Yi was startled. ”Take off my pants!?”

He asked in horror, ”What are you going to do!?”

Fang Chen laughed. ”We will be giving you a spanking, of course.”

Sun Yi couldn’t believe his ears.

This person wanted to humiliate him by spanking him? He wanted to spank him in front of the female cultivators of the Giant Immortal Sect?

Suddenly, as Sun Yi felt a chill down there, someone stepped on him. Pan Shan Monarch waved the halberd and slapped Sun Yi’s butt again and again.

The heart-wrenching pain and humiliation nearly caused Sun Yi to faint. His companions, witnessing this scene, could no longer maintain their aloof demeanor. Their faces were filled with shock, and their scalps tingled as if about to burst.

Su Lingzhu had already turned her gaze away, her face turning red. Jiang Tian’ai did the same.

Only Xun Xiyin watched the scene with great interest, murmuring numbers under her breath. She seemed to be counting for Sun Yi.

By now, Profound Immortal Xiu Yue’s face had turned ashen, and the Giant Immortal Sect’s female cultivators wore strange expressions.

Smiling, Fang Chen said, ”Tian’ai, it seems the husband your master picked for you isn’t much of a catch.”

Jiang Tian’ai replied softly, ”Lord Fang, I always felt this person was rather frivolous and immature.”

Frivolous? Immature?

Hearing Jiang Tian’ai’s evaluation of him, Sun Yi nearly burst from rage.

Unexpectedly, Xun Xiyin also nodded and said, ”My family also disciplines unruly juniors in this way. A spanking might help them understand things sooner.”

”I want you all dead! All dead!” screamed Sun Yi shrilly, having long lost the demeanor of a refined gentleman.

His piercing cries carried a grating edge, akin to the extreme of a shrew’s scolding.

His fellow disciples dared not look at this scene. Compared to Sun Yi, their backgrounds were far inferior. Witnessing Sun Yi suffer such humiliation today, they had already begun to fear returning to Prison Wind Lands, fearing they might be silenced.

Fang Chen glanced at Pan Shan Monarch. ”He’s quite spirited. Pan Shan, are you holding back?”

Pan Shan Monarch nodded slightly and immediately added a bit more force. This extra force was like the final straw that broke the camel’s back. Sun Yi’s screams gradually weakened. His buttocks were beaten to a bright red, and blood began to spill onto the ground.

After an unknown amount of time, Sun Yi lay on the ground with his eyes tightly closed with a weak expression. Drool flowed uncontrollably from his mouth, and his cheeks twitched occasionally.

A few breaths later, everyone noticed that Sun Yi had stopped breathing as the last trace of color drained from his body.

Profound Immortal Xiu Yue gasped in shock. ”He’s... dead?”

Su Mo’s expression was unusually solemn. She looked toward Fang Chen and sent a voice transmission, ”Sword Leader Fang, do you realize that you’ve caused a huge disaster?”

Fang Chen said calmly, ”Empress Su Mo, since we’ve already torn the mask off, why bother holding back? Moreover, the Sun family has no say here. Even if the sky falls, isn’t Ancestor Li here to back us? What are you afraid of?”

That person outside...

Su Mo’s expression shifted between black and white. It was hard to guess what she was thinking.

Sun Yi’s companions watched in shock as he, a split soul, had died here. Their faces turned pale as ghosts.

One of them gathered his courage and spoke up. ”W-we admit defeat. Please, let us go. You offended the Sun family, but don’t involve the Great Sun Sect. Don’t make enemies with us as well.”

The others quickly nodded in agreement. ”Yes, yes! We’ll pretend we never saw anything. We won’t hold any grudges. Just handle Sun Yi and leave it at that.”

They forced themselves to forget that the person in front of them was a lowly sword cultivator. They decided to act as if they had been bitten by a dog and nothing else. They would be happy as long as they could preserve their dignity.

Seeing Fang Chen stay silent while sizing them up, one of them couldn’t help but say, ”Think carefully about the pros and cons. We’ve already—”

Fang Chen smiled. ”Think carefully about the pros and cons? We sword cultivators never think about pros and cons. You probably haven’t heard the saying, ’A lot of debt won’t burden the person.’”

Before long, a rhythmic slapping sound echoed through the great hall, interspersed with some tragic screams.

After about ten minutes, when it was confirmed that these split souls cultivators from the Prison Wind Lands had completely lost their vitality, Fang Chen signaled for Pan Shan Monarch to stop.

At that moment, Stone Dragon and Li Changsheng entered the great hall one after the other. Li Changsheng remained unmoved, but the dark energy around Stone Dragon fluctuated unsteadily, clearly having suffered some losses.

Su Mo noticed this and was even more astonished.

Li Changsheng was ranked first on the Emperor Ranking. For Stone Dragon to fight him and only suffer a small loss meant that he had to be among the strongest of First Rate Sect Leaders here!

Li Changsheng looked at the scene before him and couldn’t help but sigh deeply.

He glanced at Fang Chen and shook his head. ”Why did you have to make enemies of them to this extent? If this continues, when you reach the Sword Burial Heavenly Steps, you’ll likely be targeted by all the sword cultivators the Sun family sends after you.”
