Immortal of the Nine Realms

In the capital, at the Nether Guards Division, You Fang and Jing Xue were sitting in the hall, enjoying tea and chatting.

Suddenly, one of their subordinates hurried in with a panicked expression and clasped his fist. ”Esteemed Lords, Lord Day Walker Monarch has returned.”

You Fang furrowed his brows. ”So he’s back. Why the need for a special report?”

Recently, many of the Yin Monarchs in the capital had suffered losses at the hands of Fang Chen. Some of the Day Walker Gods they had recruited had been stripped of their positions, leading to the clearing out of their subordinates as well. The result was a significant cut in the Yin Lifespan Coins they were receiving.

However, they couldn’t act recklessly, as this Day Walker Monarch had Monarch Yan’s full trust. Even when he killed the Day Walker God Fu Jin, Monarch Yan hadn’t meted out any punishment to him.

”The lord brought a group of wandering souls and locked them up in the prison.”

You Fang sneered. ”What’s so unusual about that? It’s just another group of wandering souls that offended him. The mighty Day Walker Monarch is not staying in the capital but running all over the place. He really has too much free time.”

Ever since Fang Chen insisted on opening the Floating Pagoda Realm, You Fang had stopped bothering with his kind-hearted facade. Every time Fang Chen’s name was mentioned, his dissatisfaction would become apparent.

”Esteemed Lords... this is indeed a minor issue, but... the Day Walker Monarch also brought back a group of Yin Demons...”

You Fang and Jing Xue shot to their feet, their expressions immediately turning grim and heavy.

”What!”

You Fang was so angry his entire being seemed to erupt. ”Are you sure of this? How dare he bring Yin Demons back to the capital!? These savage creatures have no right to step foot here!”

Jing Xue remained relatively calm. ”Are you sure about this?”

”I would never mistake the aura of Yin Demons. They are lawless, and most of the Yin Lifespan they absorb comes through plunder. This kind of aura is easily recognizable.”

”Let’s go, I want to see what Day Walker Monarch is up to,” You Fang said as he immediately left the hall.

Jing Xue frowned, pondering for a moment before following him.

Meanwhile, the Era Immortal King and the others had already been locked up in the grand prison. Fang Chen was about to head to the Judgment Division when he saw You Fang and Jing Xue each leading their subordinates toward him.

When the two spotted Stone Dragon and Empress Ci’s wedding procession, their expressions darkened.

You Fang waved his hand, signaling his subordinates to stop. He then cupped his fist and said to Fang Chen, ”Greetings, Yin Monarch.”

Fang Chen smiled and nodded. ”Greetings to both of you.”

You Fang got straight to the point, pointing at Stone Dragon and the others. ”Monarch, I believe you should explain yourself. As a proper Yin Monarch, why are you associating with Yin Demons? You’ve even brought them to the capital and into the Nether Guards Division. Do you know what our Nether Guards Division’s duty is? To suppress and battle Yin Demons!

”Right now, it seems to me you’re in league with the very Yin Demons we’re trying to eradicate. If you can’t provide a proper explanation, you’ll have to come with me to the Judgment Division.”

”Lord, our Nether Guards Division’s matters... don’t need to be escalated to the Judgment Division,” Jing Xue said, her expression changing slightly.

She turned to Fang Chen, trying to persuade him. ”Monarch, for countless years, there have been numerous conflicts between the Underworld and the Yin Demons. Many peaceful souls would turn bad after learning of the Yin Demons, trying to imitate them.

”They disregard the rules of the Underworld and recklessly plunder other people’s Yin Lifespan, thus transforming into Yin Demons themselves. This has created a significant threat to the stability of our underworld!”

It was understandable for them to be angry. The very nature of the Nether Guards Division contradicted the Yin Demons. They were at odds!

”As the Day Walker Monarch, how can you be allied with Yin Demons? I hope there will be a proper explanation for this matter. If it can be resolved within the Division, let’s handle it here. But if this escalates, all the Yin Monarchs of the capital will turn their attention toward you,” Jing Xue continued. After a pause, she said, ”And if that happens, even though you have the trust and favor of Monarch Yan, your position as Day Walker Monarch might not be secure.”

A brief pause followed.

Empress Ci stepped out of her palenquin, lightly lifting her red veil to reveal one eye as she gazed at Jing Xue with interest. ”Little girl, you really know how to talk. This empress is short of a clever maid. Would you be interested?”

Jing Xue’s expression darkened. ”Little girl?”

She was highly regarded. How dare Empress Ci call her a little girl?

From the way they spoke, these Yin Demons were clearly Fang Chen’s subordinates, and she and Fang Chen were both Yin Monarchs, on equal footing in the capital!

”Yin Demons, don’t be arrogant. This is the capital. Do you think Monarch Fang can truly shield you?” Jing Xue retorted, her voice full of authority.

You Fang sneered. ”Do you believe that if I call for help, countless Yin Monarchs will rush here to suppress you?”

The smile on Empress Ci’s face grew, but there was a cold edge to it. ”Members of the Lesser Underworld...”

The two were suddenly taken aback, their expressions growing odd. These Yin Demons weren’t from the Lesser Underworld but from the Floating Pagoda Realm?

The Yin Demons there would always refer to this place as the Lesser Underworld and speak about them with great disdain.

In addition, they had gathered some information about the Yin Demons from the Floating Pagoda Realm. Some of the powerful Yin Demons from there had frightening abilities, which was one of the main reasons why many Yin Monarchs were hesitant to open the bridge to the Floating Pagoda Realm.

”There’s no need for such trouble.” Fang Chen smiled and turned his gaze to the two of them. ”Actually, we were just about to head to the Judgment Division. Not long ago, two Yin Walkers attempted to assassinate me, and the Judgment Division handles this kind of matter. I wanted to ask if there are any leads. If you two have nothing else, you can come along.”

You Fang and Jing Xue’s expressions changed.

They had already heard about this from Du Yunxu. Recently, Du Yunxu had been busy handling the issue, and they learned that the hired assassin was a deposed Day Walker God.

However... how could such a small figure afford to hire two Yin Walkers with the strength of Yin Monarchs? There had to be a deeper connection with some of the Yin Monarchs in the capital. If Fang Chen was determined to dig into this matter, it would undoubtedly cause a major uproar in the capital.

”Since Yin Monarch Fang is heading to the Judgment Division, we’ll accompany you and see how the Judgment Division handles this matter,” You Fang said in a deep voice.

At the Judgment Division, Shen Tucang, who was handling affairs, suddenly received a report from his subordinates. After hearing the news, his expression darkened. He immediately led a group of judges to the front gate.

Not long after, the group saw a large procession stop in front of the Judgment Division.

The leader at the front was none other than the three Yin Monarchs from the Nether Guards Division. In addition to them, they also saw Stone Dragon and Empress Ci, the two powerful Yin Demons.

”Yin Monarch Fang, you’ve been acting recklessly lately. I’ve ignored your actions in deference to Monarch Yan, but you’ve gone too far. You boldly bring Yin Demons into the capital and flaunt them!” Shen Tucang reprimanded coldly. ”What do you take the capital for? Where is the face of my Judgment Division?”

Yin Demons?

Many of the wandering souls and Yin Walkers suddenly realized why the two figures had such an unusual aura. The capital was the heart of the Lesser Underworld, a place where Yin Walkers gathered. They had always known about the enmity between the Lesser Underworld and the Floating Pagoda Realm. The struggle between the two had lasted for countless years.

But today, the Yin Monarch of the Nether Guards Division, the Day Walker Monarch, was openly bringing Yin Demons into the capital? Was he trying to slap the Nether Guards Division in the face or insult the Underworld?

Fang Chen ignored Shen Tucang and turned his gaze toward Stone Dragon and Empress Ci. ”Right. Is there anyone who can challenge you in the Judgment Division?”

With their strength, Stone Dragon and Empress Ci would certainly sense if there were figures comparable to First Rate Sect Leaders in the Judgment Division.

Both of them shook their heads in unison. ”No.”

Fang Chen nodded lightly. ”Take all these judges down.”

Everyone was stunned.

Before they knew it, the domineering Shen Tucang was incapacitated by the old man who had been standing beside Fang Chen. He was held by the neck like a helpless little chick, dangling helplessly.
