Immortal of the Nine Realms

Chapter 954: The Judge’s Record of Good and Evil

Empress Ci acted even more ruthlessly. Her red sleeve swept through the air, and anyone who came into contact with it had their yin energy directly drained, collapsing to the ground immediately.

In just a moment, all the judges Shen Tucang had brought were defeated.

It all happened very quickly. By the time the others realized what had occurred, Fang Chen had already led his group into the Judgment Division.

The actions of the two great Yin Demons were truly beyond the expectations of You Fang and Jing Xue. They exchanged shocked glances. As a Yin Monarch, Shen Tucang was one of the most powerful figures in the Underworld. How could he have been so easily defeated? He hadn’t even managed to make a single move!

”They are great Yin Demons...” Jing Xue remarked solemnly.

It was rumored that some great Yin Demons in the Floating Pagoda Realm possessed powers far beyond that of the Yin Monarchs. To use human terms, the cultivation of these great Yin Demons was comparable to that of Loose Immortals in the Mortal Realm!

But these Loose Immortals could only go to the Floating Pagoda Realm when they ventured into the Underworld, not the Lesser Underworld. That was why the capital could have a firm grip over the countless cities in the Lesser Underworld despite lacking beings at that level.

”It doesn’t make sense... How could great Yin Demons follow Fang Chen’s orders...” You Fang muttered to himself.

Jing Xue’s expression turned grim. ”Sir, the Underworld is about to face a huge change. Yin Monarch Fang may be planning a rebellion. With great Yin Demons backing him, unless Monarch Yan himself intervenes, we have no qualifications to interfere. We can only watch helplessly.”

You Fang gritted his teeth. ”It’s impossible.... How could he have the qualifications to rebel? Even with the support of great Yin Demons, Monarch Yan would not sit idly by and let him do whatever he wishes....

”Years ago, great Yin Demons secretly infiltrated the Underworld, but they were all subdued by Monarch Yan. Since then, even when the bridge to the Floating Pagoda Realm opened, very few great Yin Demons would dare to come openly.”

”If Monarch Yan truly intended to intervene, he wouldn’t wait until now.” Jing Xue sighed lightly. ”If Monarch Yan wanted to take action, he would have done so long ago. Now, we must think carefully about how to position ourselves in front of Yin Monarch Fang.”

”Have you forgotten the duty of the Nether Guards Division?” You Fang said angrily. ”We are responsible for suppressing rebellion and fighting against Yin Demons. If Fang Chen truly plans to rebel and ally with the Yin Demons, I won’t let it go. The Nether Guards Division absolutely cannot turn a blind eye.”

Jing Xue responded, ”So what should we do? Even if I summon 108 Night Walkers and bring their generals and commanders, do you really think they can stand up to those two great Yin Demons?

”Right now, the Nether Guards Division controls a vast number of troops, but these troops are only useful for ordinary battles. In a situation like this, they are useless.”

You Fang deflated like a punctured balloon and slumped down. He seemed to have aged many years in a few seconds.

”We still don’t know his true plans,” Jing Xue said, her voice softening. ”Since he hasn’t targeted us yet, it means things aren’t beyond saving. You and I should follow him inside and see. Maybe Yin Monarch Fang just wants to seek justice, not rebel.”

With that, Jing Xue headed towards the Judgment Division.

You Fang remained silent for a few moments before instructing his subordinates to guard outside the Judgment Division and then followed inside.

”Things are about to get chaotic in the capital,” one of the Yin Walkers remarked, his expression growing serious.

Others, however, appeared more relaxed. One of them chuckled and said, ”Whether the capital is in chaos or not has nothing to do with us. These Yin Monarchs fighting for power have been going on for years. I’ve heard that every few years, some Yin Monarch tries to rise to power, attempting to take the throne of Monarch Yan.”

”You make a good point,” another replied. ”Whether the Underworld is in chaos or not doesn’t concern us wandering souls at all. In fact... the more chaotic it gets, the better for us.”

”Speaking of Monarch Yan... Where exactly is he? I’ve never seen it in the capital.”

”Who knows? The Underworld is so vast, and that Monarch Yan rarely shows himself. He relies on these Yin Monarchs to coordinate and manage things. Sometimes, I even suspect that Monarch Yan may have already ascended.”

”Ascended? That’s impossible, right? As long as there is a constant flow of Yin Lifespan, there’s no such thing as ascending in the Underworld. I wonder if it’s possible that Monarch Yan has reincarnated?”

”Reincarnated? Who would choose to willingly reincarnate when they’re holding such a high position, with methods that even gods and ghosts couldn’t comprehend? Would you?”

”The higher the cultivation, the more Yin Lifespan is needed to sustain it. The amount is beyond what we can imagine, so ascending isn’t impossible.”

”Speaking of which, have you heard about this?” one of the Yin Walkers asked.

”What is it?” another replied.

The first soul explained, A while ago, two Immortal Kings were killed by that Day Walker Monarch. I heard that someone spent a huge amount of money to hire them to assassinate this Day Walker Monarch.”

”That’s crazy. This is his territory. We come here, don’t follow their rules, and then attack them? This can only end badly. These Yin Monarchs hold official positions and are probably protected by Monarch Yan in the dark. Trying to assassinate them is nothing but a fool’s dream!”

”Exactly. Those two deserved to die for their actions. No wonder this Day Walker Monarch is going after the Judgment Division today. Looks like the capital has long been in chaos.”

***

Stone Dragon was carrying Shen Tucang as he followed behind Fang Chen. Shen Tucang’s face was ashen. At the moment, apart from his mouth, he had been completely restricted.

He said, ”Yin Monarch Fang, you’re rebelling. If Monarch Yan finds out about this, your fate won’t be any better than Sun Jin’s.”

”Worry about yourself first,” Fang Chen said with a casual smile. ”Let me ask you, back when someone hired the Yin Walkers to assassinate me, how did they know where I was? And who exactly was the one who hired them?”

This was also something he had to clarify today. Those two Yin Walkers seemed to have known his location in advance and set up an ambush, which was unusual in itself.

”This matter has nothing to do with the Judgment Division. You’ve asked the wrong person. You should know, now that you’ve allied with the Yin Demons and broken the rules of the Underworld, your official title will surely be revoked!” Shen Tucang said coldly. ”Without your official title, it will be difficult for you to leave the capital. Think carefully, it’s not too late to stop now.”

Fang Chen asked, ”So you’re saying that without this Day Walker Monarch’s battle armor, I won’t even be able to see the bridge over the Forgotten River?”

He took off his battle armor and looked through the layers of space, gazing at the distant Forgotten River. The bridge was faintly visible, crossing in a crisscross pattern.

A smile appeared on his face. Clearly, as a true heir of Monarch Yan, he didn’t need the battle armor to have the authority to see the bridge over the Forgotten River.

”Still the same question,” Fang Chen said. ”Think it over carefully. I’ll give you 15 minutes.”

Shen Tucang’s expression changed repeatedly. His subordinates, at this moment, were all kneeling silently in front of the hall.

One by one, officials from the Judgment Division arrived. As soon as they entered, they were knocked down by Empress Ci and joined the others in kneeling.

Shen Tucang’s gaze grew more and more solemn. At this rate, it wouldn’t be long before the entire Judgment Division would be taken over. That item... it was impossible to hide from the person in front of him.

After a few breaths, Shen Tucang slowly spoke, his voice hoarse. ”The Judgment Division has a book called the Judge’s Record of Good and Evil. I’ll go get it for you.”
