The knights surrounding Rigel launched attacks one after another.

However, every single strike missed. Rigel dodged them all with the bare minimum of movement.

”What?!”

”He’s fast!!”

”Stop dodging around!!”

”Impossible!! This can’t be…!?”

The knights were completely shaken. Their skills were undoubtedly first-rate, yet Rigel far surpassed them.

”Look, you’re full of openings!!”

Rigel slipped behind the knights and delivered a powerful kick to their backs. The impact sent three knights flying simultaneously.

”Uwaaah!!”

”Guuuh!!”

”Gyaaaah!!”

”Wha…!! What the hell!?”

The three slammed into the wall and appeared to lose consciousness.

”Still want to continue?”

Rigel asked the remaining knights. However, they had completely lost their nerve.

”Hii… Hiii!! H-he’s a monster!!”

”But…! We can’t retreat!!”

”That’s right! We can’t show such shame in front of His Majesty!!”

”If we run now, we’ll disgrace the name of knight!!”

The remaining knights attacked with desperate expressions. They were fighting for their pride.

”Haha! You guys are interesting!! Come on!!!”

Rigel laughed joyfully and met the charging knights with his spear.

”Hahahaha!!”

Rigel mowed down the knights one after another. His movements were fast and precise. Within seconds, no knight was left standing.

”Hahahahaha! Weak! You’re way too weak!!”

Rigel shouted loudly. His expression was refreshingly bright.

”He’s strong… To think my own son was this powerful…”

”Hmm… The knights couldn’t even lay a hand on him. Splendid.”

Both Balzac and King Wistaria were impressed. The king in particular seemed astonished by Rigel’s combat ability.

”Rigel. Was that display thanks to the power of the Divine Spear?”

”No, I did not release its power earlier. I simply used it as a regular spear.”

”I see… That is impressive in its own right, but it is not enough to prove your compatibility.”

What kind of person possesses compatibility with legendary-grade weapons like the Divine Spear and Divine Staff? Generally speaking, the stronger the person, the higher their compatibility tends to be. Rigel’s ability to instantly overwhelm the knights carried some persuasive power. However, it was not complete proof.

”Then, right here once— Hmm?”

”Guh… Guuuh! I am a proud knight! I won’t go down so easily!!”

Just as Rigel was about to speak, one of the knights who should have been down stood back up. Though his armor was shattered and in tatters, unlike the others, his fighting spirit had not yet been broken.

”Hou… You can still stand after taking that much damage. You’ve got quite the guts.”

”F-fufufu! Of course! I am the only female captain in the Royal Guard Knights—”

”Save the speech. Get into position. I’ll show you my special move.”

Rigel spoke with little interest. Individual titles meant nothing to him.

”You bastard…!! You’ll regret underestimating me!!!”

The female knight’s face twisted with rage. She gripped her sword with both hands and leapt at Rigel.

”Oooooohhh!!”

”Pierce— [God-Slaying Spear]!”

Rigel thrust forward with the spear in his hand, releasing a lethal strike. This blow unleashed the Divine Spear’s true power.

”Wha…!?”

In the next instant, Rigel’s spear grazed right beside the female knight’s face. The spear violently pierced the wall behind her.

”…!!”

Blood trickled down the female knight’s cheek. If the spearhead had been off by even a single millimeter, she would have certainly lost her life.

”What’s wrong? You look pale. Are you scared? If you’re that frightened, maybe you should go home and suck on your mama’s tits instead?”

”Ah… Aaaa…”

Even after Rigel’s mocking words, the female knight could not fight back. She had completely lost the will to fight. Overwhelmed by terror, she collapsed on the spot. A puddle formed between her legs, steam rising from it.

”You pissed yourself? How pathetic!! A knight who’s supposed to protect His Majesty is pissing herself in the audience chamber!!!”

”Uuu… Uuuu…”

The female knight began to cry. Rigel paid her no mind.

”—Your Majesty, how was that? As you have seen, I am capable of ’releasing’ the Divine Spear. Naturally, the same applies to the Divine Staff. With this, I believe you understand my compatibility…”

Rigel addressed the king with a satisfied smile.

”Hmm… I see. That certainly serves as proof. I never expected to find someone with compatibility for legendary-grade weapons so easily. It saves me the trouble of searching.”

”I am honored.”

”Umu. Well done, Rigel. I hereby recognize your ownership of these weapons.”

”Hah!”

Rigel bowed deeply once more.

Thus, Rigel officially received permission to possess the Divine Staff and Divine Spear.

The king gazed at Rigel with interest while directing cold looks toward the knights who had shown such disgraceful behavior.

—-

Rigel had effortlessly defeated the knights and received official recognition of his ownership of the Divine Staff and Divine Spear.

”Fufu… Even so, what a terrifying man you are… I never imagined there existed someone who could defeat my Royal Guard Knights so easily.”

”I am humbled.”

Rigel replied lightly to King Wistaria’s words. He didn’t seem particularly moved by the praise.

”By the way, Balzac. I have thought of an excellent plan.”

”…What plan might that be?”

”We should entrust the former Valestain territory to Rigel.”

”Wha…!? Your Majesty, what are you saying!?”

Balzac’s face showed utter shock. The former Valestain territory was fairly large. While it couldn’t compare to the great Wistaria Kingdom, it had still been an independent nation. Entrusting it to a youngster like Rigel seemed far too reckless.

”Your Majesty, please refrain from such unreasonable suggestions. I am overjoyed that you think so highly of my son, but this is simply too hasty. There are many things he still lacks.”

”Hou… Speak.”

King Wistaria urged him on. While he roughly understood the problems, he wanted to hear them from Balzac, Rigel’s father.

”First, he lacks knowledge and experience in territory management. I have provided him with education with the intention of making him the successor to the Goussel Marquis family, but it is still only superficial. Suddenly asking him to govern a territory would be extremely difficult.”

”Indeed.”

”Additionally, there are military concerns. We must remain vigilant against the Haidega Federation and the Armad Holy Nation, who now share borders with us. We also need to deal with the populace that has not yet fully settled from the recent chaos. While Rigel’s personal military exploits are tremendous, he is still only one man. There are clear limits to what he can accomplish alone.”

”That is correct.”

”Furthermore, his peerage is insufficient. As the heir to the Goussel Marquis family, he is recognized as having the equivalent rank of viscount. However, that is merely formal. He has not yet received an official title.”

Balzac stated his opinions calmly. His points were entirely reasonable, and even King Wistaria could not refute them.

”Moreover—”

(…This is long.)

While listening to the two men talk, Rigel looked bored. He already understood all of this without needing it spelled out.

”Enough. You are right, Balzac.”

”Then, Your Majesty—”

”However, I still wish to place my hopes on your son.”

”Your Majesty…!”

King Wistaria turned directly to Rigel and stared intently into his eyes.

”Rigel. Do you wish to become a man worthy of ruling the former Valestain territory?”

”Yes. I believe it will bring peace to the people of the Wistaria Kingdom and, by extension, contribute to the kingdom’s development. For that purpose, I am prepared to face any hardship.”

Rigel answered without hesitation. It was mostly true that he wanted the territory, but his real objective was entirely different. He simply wanted to enjoy his rape life as he pleased. If he ruled a territory as its top authority, he could commit more varied rapes whenever he wanted. That was all.

”I see… Then, Rigel. I intend to appoint you as a Border Count.”

”Yes! I am truly grateful!!”

”Y-Your Majesty! No matter what, that is—!!”

Upon hearing the king’s words, Rigel immediately dropped to one knee. Balzac hurriedly tried to approach the king.

”What’s the matter, Balzac? Have I not resolved one of your concerns? With the rank of Border Count, he should be able to govern that land, no?”

”B-but…! It is far too sudden! There are still many other problems remaining!!”

”Do not panic. I am not appointing him as Border Count immediately. I am simply informing you of my intention.”

King Wistaria spoke in a consistently calm tone. Hearing this, Balzac seemed to regain some composure.

”Rigel. There was no falsehood in what you said earlier, correct?”

”Yes! For the development of the Wistaria Kingdom, I am prepared to face any difficulty!!”

Of course those were not his true feelings, but in front of the king, he had no choice but to say so. Even the arrogant Rigel had enough judgment to understand that much.

”In that case, you shall study for a while at the ’Royal Academy.’ There, you will acquire the proper abilities befitting the lord of the former Valestain territory. Understood?”

”Eh…? —Yes!! I will definitely grow and prove myself useful to Your Majesty!”

”Umu.”

Receiving this unexpected instruction, Rigel was momentarily confused, but he expressed his acceptance.

”Balzac. What do you think of my idea?”

”…The Royal Academy…”

”Indeed. If he lacks knowledge, he can learn it there. There are also many outstanding noble children. Becoming acquainted with them should help resolve some issues regarding territory management and military strength. In the meantime, we can have martial noble houses, including Count Blade, handle provisional governance and defend against invasion from the Haidega Federation and the Armad Holy Nation.”

”…While some concerns remain… if Your Majesty holds my son in such high regard, I have no room left to object.”

Balzac looked back and forth between Rigel and the king with a bitter expression. The king smiled in satisfaction.
