Warhammer Divine Throne

Laine sat down as instructed, the valley enveloped in mist, everything was so quiet. Under the moonlight, the Lake Fairy fully showcased her beauty to him: ”It was something from hundreds of years ago... At that time, I descended into the Aisloron Forest on a whim.”

”That was a really dangerous move.” Laine realized something.

”Yes, my descent was quickly noticed by Slaanesh, and it sent a Great Demon to attack me. As you know, my champion, in melee combat, I’m no match for you. The attack from the Great Demon of Slaanesh quickly put me in danger.” The Lake Fairy reminisced about the past, a touch of nostalgia on her face: ”At that moment, a young Alaros passed by, he forgot about the danger. With my help, he drove away the Great Demon of Slaanesh.”

”...It was then that I discovered Alaros had the bloodline of gods, and he had the potential to become a deity. This could be advantageous for my future plans, so I told him about my plan, a new world, a new world filled with dawn and hope. I hoped he could become the Creator, building this new world with my support.” The Lake Fairy hesitated for a while but decided to tell Laine the truth: ”This has always been my plan, a new world.”

”Because of the Chaos invasion again?” Laine immediately made a connection, he said softly, ”My Lady, you understand too.”

”Yes, I understand. When the Eternal Divine Chosen marches south again, mortals may not be able to withstand the Chaos assault. Thus I attempted to create a new world, ensuring that after this world is destroyed, we would still have a place to go.” The Lake Fairy laid out her plan to Laine: ”You will support me, right? My champion?”

”If you truly intend to do this, then I can only tell you, my Lady, I am very disappointed with you.” To the Lake Fairy’s surprise, Laine let go of her hand and stepped back with a cold smile.

”No! My champion! Listen to me!” The Lake Fairy hurriedly grabbed Laine’s arm, a trace of urgency in her voice: ”Listen to Alaros’s story first.”

”...Alright.” As the Lake Fairy gripped his arm tightly, Laine was also interested in Alaros’s story.

”I gave Alaros three gifts. First, I revealed my prophecy to him, that he would become the hero of the Wood Elf in the future, and he did. Second, I agreed to adopt his daughter as my own, to help me achieve my plan. Third, my plan was that when the new world was built, Alaros would become the new Lord of Phoenix—Asuyan.” The Lake Fairy continued, regret on the goddess’s face: ”But he refused. Even though I didn’t reveal the third gift, he refused my request to build the new world with me.”

”Because, my Lady, your new world cannot exist apart from this world.” Laine sneered, patience lost on his face: ”It’s like a castle, my Lady. You build a room inside the castle. Yes, the room is built by you, so it belongs to you, but when the castle collapses, can your room remain unscathed?”

”It can! I have a way...””No, you don’t.”

Laine’s decisive answer left the Lake Fairy stunned, she then spoke tremblingly: ”You...you know?”

”Yes, I know.” Laine spread his hands and shook his head: ”My existence proves everything. What I want to tell you is, your plan cannot succeed.”

Upon the national beauty features of the Lake Fairy, a twitch appeared, she sighed: ”I understand, I all understand, my champion, your presence proves everything. Perhaps, even if leaving here were possible, what is outside the world might not be the peaceful place imagined.”

”Correct answer.” Laine stepped back, the Divine Chosen Champion’s gaze flickering, he said softly: ”My Lady, those outside want to come in, those inside want to go out. Outside, it is much more dangerous than inside.”

”...In our private moments, call me Lilith, my champion.” The Lake Fairy rose again, reaching out to embrace Laine’s arm: ”Even so, I still believe, creating a radiant new world is possible, because of your presence. You are the best gift Subspace has given me. If Alaros has the potential to be a deity, essentially you are already akin to deities, just not yet grown.”

Laine remained silent, the two of them moving along the pool, the cold autumn air and the dampness from the mist invigorating. The Lake Fairy rested her head on Laine’s shoulder: ”Today is my birthday, yet I seem to have told you too much unrelated to birthdays. Believe me, Laine, I did not intend to test you, but when a plan of centuries proves in vain, I can’t help feeling a bit sad.”

Laine thought, you too, huh, besides just how many birthdays had she had already?

”Laine! You’re surely thinking something very rude, aren’t you!” The Lake Fairy sensed it immediately, pinching Laine’s arm viciously.

The goddess’s attack was no joke, Laine could feel his arm likely bruised, he gritted his teeth and shouted: ”My Lady, please don’t do this, otherwise I will strike back.”

”Oh, it’s just a mark, compared to what you did to Mogiana, what’s this matter?” The Lake Fairy, or rather Elf Dream and Goddess of Fortune Lilith, teased: ”You think I don’t know?”

Laine was somewhat embarrassed, aware he couldn’t hide it from the Lake Fairy, but being exposed was still awkward. He attempted to explain: ”I was combating the Undead curse.”

”Yes, you’re protecting Mogiana, but you also placed tricks on her... Never mind, I allow it, follow me, Laine.”

The two entered the Lake Fairy Tower, the white gold-patterned carpet fully covering the floor, various furnishings from the Lake Fairy Divine Kingdom decorating the interior of the tower. The Lake Fairy did not like opulent decor, her arrangements were more simple and elegant, revealing a fresh sense.

Upon reaching the dining room, the dome comprised of white, blue, gold lines and its circular design amazed Laine. It was a sense of perfect harmony and smoothness, the Magic Lamps illuminating the dining room within, the table set with pastries. The Lake Fairy gestured for Laine to sit opposite her: ”Try my homemade pastries, today is my birthday, no need to be so constrained.”

After tasting several pastries, Laine was no longer in a mood to joke. The information received during today’s meeting with the Lake Fairy was indeed overwhelming. He wolfed down the bites before moving to the next topic: ”My Lady, the Musillon vampires are stirring, we have detected many Vampire schemes, and the Merciful Goddess Archbishop has gone missing.”

The Lake Fairy arranged her gown, casually removing her sandals, floated barefoot in the air: ”This matter I know, the Master of the Undead Nagash has always been plotting his resurrection, and this event is related to him. But I do not understand the specific details. Mogiana has already informed me, I am still contemplating the causes and effects. Since the New World is no longer possible, I must change my stance towards Nagash.”

”My Lady, your original plan for Nagash was?” Laine asked in confusion.

”My original plan was... to resurrect Nagash!” The Lake Fairy said flatly: ”Also, didn’t I say, in private, call me Lilith!”

”Why?!”

”Because...”
