Warhammer Divine Throne

Alfred, who was eating downstairs, sneezed.

”Hahaha!” The two female members of the Jialan Council giggled endlessly.

”By the way, can we set sail from this town?” After a bit of joking, Laine quickly got down to business.

”Yes, although the port here has reduced outgoing ships due to the chaos of battle and the Sea Monster, Lord Albert Baker hasn’t banned sailing. The next passenger ship to Marinburg will depart in five days, and I’ve already booked your tickets.” Teresa took out two tickets from behind her and handed them to Laine, ”Do you want to hold onto them?”

The two tickets carried a faint scent of lavender. Laine waved his hand, ”You hold onto them, just remember it.”

After chatting a bit more, Laine’s humorous remarks made the two female members of the Jialan Council laugh repeatedly. Time flew by quickly, and Teresa occasionally glanced at Laine, with an unnatural blush appearing on her cheeks, all of which Dietlinde noted.

Ah, to be young~

After a while, when the moon hung high in the sky, bells rang in the room, indicating that the inn had prepared dinner.

”Tonight’s dinner is roast pork, grilled eel, buttered bread, smoked fish, roasted apples and pears, creamy stew, and thick soup made from turnips and corn.” After a large table full of dishes was served, the female sorcerer, somewhat smugly, brought out more items from her room: ”I also have cheese, honey, and jam here, Laine, feel free to use whichever you like.”

”Wow, this meal is almost like a king’s dinner.” Laine quipped, knowing that the female spellcasters of the Jialan Council were famous for pursuing a high-quality living environment, but it wasn’t until personally experiencing it that one could feel its luxury.

Perhaps as a special treat, or maybe because only he received this special treatment, Teresa personally used silverware to slice the bread, spread jam on it, and handed it to Laine.

After a comfortable dinner, Laine was not only full in the stomach but also had quite the visual feast.

After the meal, Laine stood up, ”Well then...”

”Finished eating and planning to run off?” Who knew Teresa would unceremoniously stop him.

”...Your words seem a bit ambiguous.” Laine paused awkwardly, ”Is there anything else?”

Being with the two female members of the Jialan Council always made the White Wolf Knight feel a bit uneasy.

”Sit down, I want to chat with you.” Teresa motioned for him to sit down, ”During this season, there’s nothing much to do at night. Why are you always in a hurry to go back and rest?”

Laine had no choice but to sit back on the sofa. Dietlinde said she’d let them chat while she needed to go make potions, and the academic witch quickly left the room.

Now only the two of them remained in the room.

”Laine?”

”Hmm?”

”Do you think our pursuit mission was a success or a failure?” The female sorcerer sat beside him, with her long legs in black stockings swaying in front of Laine’s eyes.

”I don’t mean to dampen your spirits, but...we’re currently failing, and failing quite thoroughly.” Laine shook his head with a wry smile. From the moment he accepted the commission until now, he really hadn’t achieved much, maybe taking down the Doomsday Bull could count as something, but that wasn’t really the main task.

”Yes, we’re currently not successful, and Laine, haven’t you noticed? There’s no coordination between you and me, in battles, we always act individually. You fight your way, and I fight mine.” Teresa’s beautiful almond-shaped eyes looked at Laine through her black-framed butterfly glasses, ”Isn’t that right?”

”Exactly, we lack mutual understanding.” Laine had to admit this point as well.

Reality isn’t a game, there are no such notions as ally or enemy determinations. A caster’s spells often act as large-scale destructive weapons, making it difficult for someone like Laine, who fights in close combat, to cooperate with Teresa.

”So, we need to find our own understanding, right?” Teresa said, ”That’s why we should act together more often. You seem to always like going solo, how is that conducive to developing mutual understanding?”

The female sorcerer’s words were logical and convincing.

”Alright.”
