Chapter 1148: Chapter 1149: Attitude Softens

Emperor of Xiyun and Su Chengyu didn’t stay at Prince Yi’s Mansion for long, as soon as they finished discussing matters, they returned to the palace.

Despite Emperor of Xiyun and Su Chengyu having brought quite a few guards with them, Xiao Changyi was still not at ease at this critical moment and sent Qin Yi, Qin Er, Qin San, and Qin Si to escort Emperor of Xiyun and Su Chengyu back to the palace to prevent any mishap along the way.

”Mommy, Daddy, hungry... hungry...”

No sooner had Emperor of Xiyun and Su Chengyu left than the four little ones told An Jing and Xiao Changyi they were hungry, and An Jing and Xiao Changyi quickly had vegetable rice porridge brought to the children to eat.

When the four little ones saw there was no meat, they became unhappy: ”No meaty... want meaty... want to eat meaty...”

An Jing soothed them gently and persuasively, ”You’re sick right now, and you haven’t recovered yet. Uncle Chenchen says you can’t eat greasy food at the moment, you need to have something bland. Be good, come on, eat your porridge.”

The four little ones were still unwilling to eat and still wanted meat, even saying that just a little bit would be fine. They looked particularly pitiful.

Just as An Jing was about to agree to the four little ones, Xiao Changyi spoke up preemptively, ”You must eat this while you’re sick, and when you’re better, whatever you want to eat, Daddy and Mommy will make it for you, okay?”

The four little ones immediately nodded their little heads happily upon hearing that their mommy and daddy would make whatever they wanted once they were better: ”Mm-hmm~”

Following that, the four little ones obediently ate the very bland vegetable rice porridge.

After the four little ones had finished their porridge, An Jing and Xiao Changyi together brought out two pills for reducing fever, dividing each pill in half, putting half a pill in each small bowl, and then dissolving it in some water for the four little ones to drink.

”Bitter... so bitter...” Su Yixing, the little one, only tasted a tiny bit before pushing the bowl away, clearly refusing to drink any more. His little face was all scrunched up like a bun, full of wrinkles.

The other three little ones were the same, afraid of bitterness and unwilling to drink.

”Good medicine tastes bitter. Only by taking your medicine will you get better quickly, and then you’ll be able to eat a lot of what you want. Don’t you want that?” An Jing attempted to tempt them with the thought of delicious food.

”But it’s so bitter...” The four little ones still looked afraid of bitterness and unwilling to drink.

Xiao Changyi picked up the preserved fruits on the table, ”There’s only a little bit of medicine, just down it all at once and then a sweet preserved fruit will take away the bitterness.”

”Daddy, it’s bitter when drinking it...” All four little ones grimaced.

Xiao Changyi was taken aback, not expecting the little ones to be so clever not to be fooled by him, still focusing on whether it was bitter during drinking. However, he still spoke softly, ”If you don’t drink, you won’t get better. Be good, don’t worry your mommy and daddy.”

An Jing also patiently said, ”Don’t you dislike feeling hot and bothered? If you drink this, you won’t feel a bit hot anymore.”

”Really?” The four little ones were somewhat skeptical, but it was clear that their attitude had softened.

An Jing immediately nodded vigorously, ”Really!” After a pause, she added, ”If Mommy lies to you, you can have Daddy spank Mommy’s bottom, okay?”

Upon hearing this, the four little ones immediately believed her, and although they were still afraid of the bitterness, they each took their small bowls and drank the medicine. As soon as they finished, they made faces, stuck out their tongues, and hurried to ask An Jing and Xiao Changyi for preserved fruits to sweeten their mouths.
