My Mosquito Clones Are on a Killing Spree

Chapter 86: Chapter 72: The Student Surpasses the Master

”Alright, Teacher. Please excuse me.”

There wasn’t the slightest trace of fear in Lin Yi’s eyes; instead, a blazing fighting spirit ignited within them.

He let out a low shout.

He snatched up the Owl Dragon Long Spear beside him.

The spear tip quivered.

In an instant, it became a black bolt of lightning, tearing through the air with unstoppable momentum, thrusting straight for Zhang Quan’s throat!

This thrust was fast, precise, and ruthless—the very essence of spearmanship.

A glimmer of admiration flashed in Zhang Quan’s eyes.

”Good! This ’thrust’ has a solid foundation and is perfectly executed!”

Though he was commenting verbally, his hands didn’t slow in the slightest.

Just as the tip of Lin Yi’s spear was about to reach him, he flicked his wrist. His dark spear shot out like a viper from its den, precisely blocking the attack in front of him.

The spear’s shaft contained a vast, powerful force.

He intended to parry Lin Yi’s Owl Dragon Spear and divert its momentum, dismantling his assault.

With his decades of mastery in the Martial Dao of the spear, Lin Yi’s solid but basic spearmanship truly seemed amateurish in his eyes.

However—

”Hm?!”

The instant the two spears clashed, Zhang Quan’s expression changed dramatically!

He felt the force coming from Lin Yi’s spear was unimaginably heavy, like the crash of a mountain, far exceeding the scope of a First-Grade Martial Artist!

The blocking force he was channeling, suppressed to 350 cal of Qi and Blood, was actually unable to completely overpower Lin Yi.

Instead, he was faintly suppressed by the tyrannical, overbearing power from the other’s spear!

What was even more terrifying was that, in that moment of stalemate, a strange, invisible vibrating force, like ripples on water, suddenly transmitted over from the shaft of Lin Yi’s spear!

It was—Wave Intent!

Lin Yi’s already formidable strength was instantly converted and amplified, transforming into a series of continuous, all-pervasive shockwaves that bypassed all external defenses and penetrated directly into his body!

Zhang Quan felt as if his internal organs had been viciously struck by an invisible sledgehammer. His Qi and Blood instantly churned like a raging sea, and a sweet taste rose in his throat.

His hands gripping the spear felt as if they’d been hit with high-voltage electricity. Under the assault of that terrifying Wave Intent, they trembled violently, aching with a sore numbness until he completely lost control!

CLANG!

A heavy sound of metal striking metal echoed.

Zhang Quan could no longer hold his dark spear; it slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground.

’I... lost?’

Zhang Quan staggered half a step before steadying himself, his face a mask of utter disbelief.

Although he had suppressed his realm, maintaining 350 cal of Qi and Blood and only using the power of a low-level Second Grade, Lin Yi was still only at the First Grade Realm!

And regardless of spearmanship fundamentals or combat experience, he was far more seasoned than Lin Yi.

’Such a huge advantage...’

’And I lost in a single move?’

’After studying the spear for over twenty years, I actually lost to a student who’s only been learning for a month and a half?’

Zhang Quan looked down at his own hands, which were still trembling and numb.

He recalled that strange, intangible force that had hammered his organs like a relentless tide.

He snapped his head up to stare intently at Lin Yi, his voice wavering with excitement and shock.

”You... you actually... cultivated an Intent?!”

This was a state that Martial Artists dreamed of achieving!

It represented a deeper level of control over one’s power!

Lin Yi nodded calmly.

”Teacher, I have cultivated an Intent.”

”Good! Good! Excellent!”

Zhang Quan was instantly overwhelmed by immense, pleasant surprise, his eyes filled with gratification and excitement.

”Lin Yi, you kid! Your rate of progress is simply beyond imagination! What on earth is that Intent? It’s frighteningly tyrannical!”

That vibrating force that penetrated straight to his internal organs was something no ordinary Intent could compare to.

Lin Yi explained,

”Teacher, this is Wave Intent. It can convert my strength into special vibrations that penetrate defenses and directly affect the enemy’s insides!”

He gave a casual wave of his hand, and faint, nearly invisible ripples seemed to spread through the air, carrying a heart-pounding, penetrating sensation.

”Wave Intent... what a magnificent Wave Intent!”

Zhang Quan looked at the transformed disciple before him, filled with a thousand emotions. Alongside his gratification, a trace of complex melancholy washed over him.

”Lin Yi, you... you’ve already graduated!”

”With your current realm and comprehension, there’s really nothing left for me to teach you.”

Teaching such an outstanding student is every teacher’s glory.

But this student was a little too outstanding.

In the blink of an eye, he had reached a point where his teacher felt he had nothing left to teach.

This gap left Zhang Quan feeling both happy and bittersweet.

Lin Yi quickly said,

”Teacher, it’s too early to say that! I was just lucky enough to comprehend Wave Intent from within Water Intent, but I still have no clue about Spear Intent! The Martial Dao is vast and profound; I still have much to learn from you!”

His attitude was sincere, not just polite courtesy.

But Zhang Quan waved his hand dismissively, his tone certain.

”Water Intent is much harder to grasp than Spear Intent! It’s an insight into the Power of Origin of heaven and earth. The fact that you could comprehend Wave Intent proves your understanding of the essence of power is already extraordinary. Spear Intent? That’s just a matter of time—it’s practically a done deal!”

He was full of confidence in Lin Yi’s talent.

Lin Yi smiled but didn’t respond.

’He knew in his heart that the only reason he could master Wave Intent so quickly was thanks to the heaven-defying assistance of the Kidney-Water Spiritual Essence.’

’But comprehending Spear Intent?’

’Without such a fortuitous cheat, it would be no easy task.’

’This secret could only be buried deep in his heart.’

Zhang Quan’s smile faded, his expression turning serious as he asked,

”With your current strength, plus that tyrannical Wave Intent, Yan Hao is definitely not your match in a head-on confrontation. But he’s in the shadows while you’re in the open. You want to act as bait to lure him out, but the risk is too great. Should I follow you secretly? Or should we notify the Public Security Bureau and have them set up an inescapable net?”

He was still worried about Lin Yi’s safety.

Lin Yi shook his head decisively, his eyes sharp.

”Teacher, it’s best not to alert the enemy! The fact that Yan Hao escaped from right under the Public Security Bureau’s nose last time proves he is extremely cunning and cautious. If we make too much of a scene this time, he’ll likely sense the danger and retreat into hiding. It’s better to let me handle it myself. I’m confident.”

Zhang Quan gave Lin Yi a long look, and seeing that his mind was made up, he didn’t insist.

He nodded solemnly.

”Alright. This will indeed be an excellent test of your strength and character. Remember, your safety is the top priority! If you sense anything wrong, signal for help or retreat immediately. Don’t try to be a hero!”

”Don’t worry, Teacher. I will.”

Lin Yi promised in a deep voice, his eyes filled with composure.

Afterward, Lin Yi returned to his room and started packing his things.

He didn’t have much, so he finished quickly.

Aside from the Owl Dragon Long Spear, his only other valuable possession was the Hunting Falcon III Type Energy Pistol.

It was a size larger than a normal pistol, with a sleek, high-tech body. A faint energy indicator light blinked on the grip, making it look more like a futuristic, oversized revolver.

Lin Yi picked up a special tactical belt, which had a holster and ten blue-glowing Energy Boxes attached to it.

He deftly fastened the belt, holstered the Hunting Falcon III, and covered it with a loose outer jacket, perfectly concealing the weapon.

Finally, he changed into the Tank 300 special operations Martial Arts Uniform that Zhou Meng had given him.

With everything ready, Lin Yi picked up a backpack containing a few changes of clothes and strode out of the villa.

At the villa’s entrance, Zhang Quan’s black heavy-duty SUV was parked quietly, its trunk open.

Zhang Quan was grunting and puffing as he stuffed several large, bulging bags into it.

Seeing this, Lin Yi quickly walked over.

”Teacher, you really don’t have to trouble yourself with driving me. I can get back on my own. And look at all these New Year’s goods...”

He pointed at the packages.

”I can’t possibly finish all this by myself!”

Zhang Quan rolled his eyes in annoyance and dusted off his hands.

”Who said I was driving you? In your dreams!”

Lin Yi: ”...”

He was momentarily speechless, a little embarrassed.

’Alright, I guess I was getting ahead of myself.’

Zhang Quan continued,

”There’s nothing much left to do here in Yang City for now, so I’m heading back to the Provincial City to spend the New Year with my old man and old lady! See you after the holidays, kid!”

His tone was light, but deep in his eyes, there was still concern for Lin Yi.

”Well... have a safe trip, Teacher. And a Happy New Year in advance!”

Lin Yi quickly spoke up, trying to cover up his slight embarrassment from his earlier assumption.

However, a warm feeling quietly flowed through his heart.

Previously, Zhang Quan had given up on going to the Provincial City to reunite with his parents for the New Year in order to protect him.

That alone was enough to earn Lin Yi’s gratitude.

The master and disciple exchanged no more sentimental words, simply waving to each other.

Watching as Zhang Quan started the engine and the SUV roared off into the distance, Lin Yi took a deep breath.

He turned and began walking with firm steps in the direction of the old-style apartment complex.
