Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Lin Moyu chose not to tell Meng Anwen the truth this time.

The fewer people who knew about the plan, the better.

From Meng Anwen’s report, he learned that the Demon Emperor had shown restraint.

Although many had been injured, relatively few had died.

The blow to morale was significant, but it was far from devastating.

Lin Moyu promised that within two days, he would head to the Abyss and confront the Demon Emperor.

After Meng Anwen departed, Ning Yiyi and the other three women gathered around him.

Holding his hand, Ning Yiyi asked softly, ”Is it really alright to keep Grandfather Meng in the dark?”

All four of them knew the truth behind the elaborate performance Lin Moyu and the Demon Emperor were putting on.

Mo Yun looked concerned, ”Wasn’t this war supposed to sharpen the blade? But now humanity’s morale has been crushed. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose?”

With a faint smile, Lin Moyu summoned a large blade.

His palm became as hard as steel as he ran it slowly along the blade’s edge.

Instantly, the blade emitted a razor-sharp aura, as though it had just been honed.

”A blade becomes sharp after being honed. But if you keep honing it...”

He stroked the blade several more times. Its edge grew increasingly keener until, with a sharp crack, the blade suddenly split apart.

Shu Han smiled knowingly, ”What you mean is that everything has its limit. A blade needs sharpening, but excessive sharpening only destroys it.”

Lin Moyu nodded, ”Too much rigidity only leads to breaking.”

”I’ll admit that I was too idealistic at first. This war progressed so smoothly that it did sharpen the human race in the beginning. But as victory piled upon victory, that sharpness turned into blind arrogance.”

”And... I also have my own selfish reasons. This time, I intend to be selfish.”

As his strength grew and the world before him expanded, so too had his perspective.

He no longer viewed himself as merely a piece on the chessboard. Gradually, he had become one of the players.

From that vantage point, he could see the bigger picture.

He understood what choices would maximize the human race’s future while preventing it from becoming complacent and overconfident.

He had already planned every step.

There would inevitably be casualties, just as sharpening a blade inevitably ground away tiny fragments of steel.

Those losses were unfortunate but unavoidable.

Ning Yiyi and the others understood exactly what he meant.

Over the years since their marriage, Lin Moyu had shared many things with them, broadening their horizons as well.

As one’s vision expanded, so too did one’s way of thinking.

Besides, they had long since chosen to walk beside him no matter what path he took.

Two days later, Lin Moyu arrived at the Abyss.

The war between the humans and the Abyss Demons was raging fiercely.

The Demon Emperor had already taken the field personally, forcing the human forces into a steady retreat.

Despite fighting with everything they had, the gap in strength was simply too great.

Morale had sunk to a dangerous low.

Then Lin Moyu appeared. His entrance was anything but subtle.

An undead army numbering over a million swept across the battlefield like a tidal wave.

Every undead possessed half-step Transcendent God realm combat power.

Wherever they passed, Demons fell in droves like wheat before a scythe.

Countless perished in an instant.

With Lin Moyu’s arrival, the tide of battle reversed.

Cheers immediately erupted across the human forces.

”Godly General Lin is here!”

”Godly General Lin has arrived!”

”His undead army is unbelievable! They’re far stronger than the Demons!”

”Even Demon Kings are being slaughtered instantly!”

”I can’t believe I once thought we could rival Godly General Lin if we joined forces. How ridiculous.”

”Ridiculous indeed. Even all of us together wouldn’t amount to a fraction of his strength.”

”Godly General Lin truly is humanity’s strongest! With him here, why should we fear the Abyss?”

At that moment, Lin Moyu felt the power of faith surge once more.

His dramatic arrival had not only reversed the battle but reignited the fighting spirit of the entire human race.

The power of faith rapidly recovered to its previous level before continuing to climb, growing even stronger than before.

A spark flashed as countless insights flooded his mind.

Upon the tiny hand of his soul main body, a wisp of the law of undeath quietly emerged.

Unlike before, it did not dissipate.

Instead, it circled gently around the soul’s hand, as though it had become his own possession, branded with his personal imprint.

This was the first sign of mastering a law.

Lin Moyu’s heart pounded, ”The power of faith...”

He had never expected it to have such an astonishing effect.

His law comprehension had been stalled for a long time, always just a hair’s breadth away from a breakthrough.

Yet with the aid of the power of faith, that final barrier had been pierced.

Only then did Lin Moyu realize just how extraordinary the power of faith truly was.

Since that was the case, he would see this performance through to the very end.

The more power of faith he gathered, the better.

The phantom of the Demon Emperor appeared high in the air.

Just as they had planned, the Demon Emperor immediately unleashed a devastating assault on Lin Moyu.

Boundless energy surged, law roared, and the Demon Emperor’s terrifying aura swept across the battlefield, crushing the human class users beneath an overwhelming pressure and leaving them frozen in fear.

Only Lin Moyu remained unaffected.

He instantly engaged the Demon Emperor in a fierce battle while the undead army fought alongside him, surrounding and besieging the opponent.

The battle looked completely real—because it was.

At this moment, the Demon Emperor held nothing back.

That had also been part of their arrangement: turn a staged battle into a genuine one.

Violent shockwaves rained down upon the battlefield.

Human class users were thrown back one after another, coughing blood as they retreated in panic.

At the critical moment, the undead army rushed forward, shielding the human forces from the devastating impacts.

”Godly General Lin is truly outstanding! Even while fighting the Demon Emperor, he’s still protecting us!”

”I actually thought Godly General Lin wasn’t that impressive before... I’m ashamed of myself.”

”Same here. I’m too embarrassed to even show my face.”

”I’ve decided! From today onward, Godly General Lin is my idol. My children and grandchildren will look up to him as their role model.”

Countless people made such vows, their admiration for Lin Moyu reaching unprecedented heights.

The power of faith surged once more, growing stronger than ever before.

At the same time, endless insights into the laws poured into Lin Moyu’s mind.

Finally, a strand of the law of undeath slipped into the hand of his soul.

His entire body trembled.

He felt an indescribable resonance with the law, as though a part of himself had fused with it.

As the strand of law merged into his soul, his soul force skyrocketed.

Brilliant light enveloped his body as he broke through in the middle of battle, smoothly stepping into the half-step Transcendent God realm.

The breakthrough sent his combat power soaring.

Although he had mastered only one percent of the law, that single percent was incomparably more powerful than anything he possessed before.

With his strength increasing exponentially, his “battle” with the Demon Emperor soon reached its conclusion.

Their final full-powered clash blasted an enormous hole through the sky.

Beyond the massive hole lay the endless, pitch-black void.

Moments later, Lin Moyu stepped back out of the void, appearing completely unharmed.

The Demon Emperor, however, was nowhere to be seen.

The outcome was obvious: Lin Moyu had won.

The Demon Emperor had been driven away.

Meanwhile, the remaining Demon forces collapsed under the relentless slaughter of the undead army.

After suffering defeat after defeat, the human forces had finally reclaimed victory.

And the one who had turned the tide was Lin Moyu.

This battle proved beyond all doubt that he had surpassed even Emperor Di.

Once again, Lin Moyu became a living legend of the human race—the strongest human expert, an invincible existence.

As news of the battle spread back to the Human World, more and more people began to worship and revere him.

The power of faith continued to grow stronger.

By now, Lin Moyu had fully discovered one of its greatest benefits: it dramatically accelerated law comprehension.

He did not remain in the Abyss World for long.

After bidding farewell to Meng Anwen and the others, he returned to the Human World.

Meng Anwen understood the situation well.

Lin Moyu had dealt with the Demon Emperor, but the remaining battles in the Abyss World still belonged to them.

He could not protect humanity forever.

In the end, they would have to rely on their own strength.

Watching the human forces now filled with renewed fighting spirit, Meng Anwen narrowed his eyes, ”I can’t shake the feeling... something about this isn’t quite right.”
