Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Lin Moyu realized that his tolerance for pain had increased dramatically.

At first, the excruciating agony of his soul being damaged had been almost unbearable.

Gradually, however, he adapted to it. By the end, the pain even carried a strange sense of exhilaration.

Again and again, his soul world was smashed, only to be restored beneath the purple radiance of his talent.

With every cycle of destruction and rebirth, his soul world became visibly stronger, while the Star Tree’s soul imprint weakened at the same pace.

…

Far away in some corner of the greater world, the Star Tree was utterly dumbfounded.

It had paid an enormous price to plant that soul imprint within Lin Moyu, yet moments ago, the soul imprint had suddenly disappeared.

Enraged, the Star Tree lashed its colossal branches across the void, tearing apart space and destroying several stars.

Then, in the blink of an eye, the soul imprint reappeared.

The Star Tree froze in confusion.

Moments later, the soul imprint vanished again—only to reappear once more.

As this cycle repeated over and over, the Star Tree gradually realized that its connection to the soul imprint was growing weaker.

Until, finally… The connection vanished completely.

This time, the soul imprint truly disappeared, never to return.

Bewilderment quickly gave way to fury—all its efforts had been wasted.

Not only had it failed to obtain the Dragon Bead, but now even the soul imprint had been erased.

In the boundless greater world, how was it supposed to find Lin Moyu now?

”Damn you, human brat! I remember your aura! You cannot escape!”

”I will kill you and devour your law!”

The Star Tree roared in rage. Its terrifying branches whipped across the void, causing nearby stars to explode one after another into clouds of dust.

…

Having completely absorbed the soul imprint, Lin Moyu let out a long breath.

The blade hanging over his neck had finally been removed.

Once again, he had personally experienced just how dangerous the greater world truly was.

Absorbing the Star Tree’s soul imprint had strengthened his soul world.

Originally, his soul world had been protected by a glazed barrier—the hallmark of a 3rd grade soul.

Likewise, his soul main body had been bathed in golden radiance.

Now, after absorbing the power of the soul imprint, the previously cloudy glaze gradually became clearer, slowly transforming into crystal.

At the same time, the golden radiance surrounding his soul main body began taking on the pristine luster of white jade.

Once the soul world became completely transparent, evolving from glaze into crystal, and his soul transformed from golden to white jade, he would possess a 4th grade soul: a jade soul within a crystal world.

By seizing this opportunity, Lin Moyu had taken a tremendous step toward that realm.

Antares clicked his tongue in amazement, ”Truly extraordinary.”

Lin Moyu knew he was referring to his talent.

His talent not only granted rebirth, but also devoured foreign soul force during the process, converting it into his own power.

Such an ability was nothing short of unbelievable.

Lin Moyu smiled faintly, ”Come take a look at something.”

”What is it this time?”

Antares followed him to the law art star representing Deathwings.

On the surface, it appeared no different from an ordinary law art star.

It had formed no multiple-star law art, nor had it given birth to any law.

Antares couldn’t understand what there was to see.

Lin Moyu explained, ”This is the law art star for Deathwings. You know what the law art does, but when I was retrieving the final Dragon Bead earlier, it seemed to undergo a change.”

As he spoke, he poured soul force into the law art star.

The law art star shone brighter and brighter.

Then, with a low shout, Lin Moyu poured all of his soul force into it in a single instant.

The law art star erupted with dazzling brilliance, illuminating his entire soul world.

For that brief moment, its radiance surpassed every other law art star.

A mysterious aura slowly emerged from within it.

Antares let out a startled cry, ”The law of space!”

”So it really is the law of space...” Lin Moyu murmured as he withdrew his soul force.

The sudden expenditure of such an enormous amount of soul force left him feeling somewhat weak.

”When I pushed Deathwings to its absolute limit to obtain the last Dragon Bead, it produced an effect very similar to instantaneous teleportation.”

”At the same time, I sensed a trace of law from the law art star, but I couldn’t determine which law it was.”

His understanding of laws was still too limited. Faced with a newly awakened law, he lacked the experience to identify it.

Antares stared at him as though he were some kind of monster.

”The law of chaos, the law of time, the law of space, the law of undeath...”

”You really are a complete freak. Now that I think about it, the greater world rune went too easy on you.”

”It should’ve killed you outright instead of letting you survive.”

Lin Moyu chuckled, ”Too bad for you—I’m still alive. Disappointed?”

As he spoke, he recalled the greater world rune, its surface covered in cracks.

A thought crossed his mind, ”Perhaps it wasn’t that the greater world rune didn’t want to kill me… It was that it couldn’t spare the attention.”

Antares snorted, ”Utterly.”

Lin Moyu knew exactly what he was thinking. He was just being stubborn.

”Antares, let me ask you something. Why did I level up directly after killing the Star Tree’s split soul instead of receiving EXP?”

Antares didn’t seem surprised in the slightest, ”Because the gap in realm between you and it is simply too great. Even though you only killed a split soul—a mere avatar—its true body is unimaginably powerful.”

”From the perspective of the world’s rules, what you did is no different from a newly awakened rookie killing a level 90 God-level class user.”

”The EXP can’t even be calculated properly, so the rules simply rewarded you with a direct level-up.”

Lin Moyu immediately caught the implication in those words.

”The world’s rules? What rules?”

”The rules governing you human class users, of course. You’ll understand once you reach the greater world.”

Antares offered no further explanation.

Lin Moyu knew there had to be some reason preventing Antares from revealing more.

There was no point pressing the matter.

Once he reached the greater world, the answers would reveal themselves.

After all, Antares was bound by numerous restrictions while in this world.

Lin Moyu let out a sigh, ”Alright, then. I’ll head back. I’ve been away for quite a while this time.”

Antares nodded, ”I’ve got one more thing to tell you. You’d better find Lilian and put on another act with her.”

”Huh?” Lin Moyu was completely baffled.

The humans had already pushed deep into the Abyss, and the campaign was progressing exceptionally well.

Lilian hadn’t made any moves either. What use was there for them to still put on an act?

Antares explained, ”Have you noticed that the power of faith has weakened?”

Lin Moyu nodded. He had noticed it long ago.

Over the past six months, the amount of power of faith he received had steadily declined.

Compared to its peak, it had already fallen by more than half.

Still, he had never placed much importance on the power of faith, so he hadn’t given it much thought.

He couldn’t understand why Antares was bringing it up now.

Antares said, ”The power of faith is still useful. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be one of the fundamental powers of your human race.”

Lin Moyu trusted Antares’s judgment, ”Alright. I know what to do.”

”Good. Now get lost. Go home and hug your wives.”

With that, Antares exhaled a tremendous blast of dragon breath, sending Lin Moyu flying straight back to the Human World.
