Chapter 372: Chapter 372: Evil Spirit Appears_1

I have translated the text you provided line by line as requested:

Wan Yan Jun had a good plan, yet things did not develop in the direction he had hoped.

Since Grant Valley Master Thomas had set a trap to lure them here, how could he not have a thorough strategy?

If the only objective was to trap them, wouldn’t the trap be a bit too rudimentary?

”Pfft!”

Just as Wan Yan Jun, prepared to put everything on the line, suddenly spat out a mouthful of green blood.

”No good! We’ve been infected by the plague!”

Only then did Wan Yan Jun suddenly realize where Grant Valley Master Thomas’s confidence came from.

The entire Plague Valley was most contaminated with plague right here at the estate, and the color of the fog had turned blood red.

Unfortunately, the three of them saw Ling Xiao unaffected and assumed that the dense fog was merely imposing in appearance and, in reality, harmlessly brashly entered.

However, only now did they suddenly understand the gravity of the situation.

”Damn that Ling Xiao, getting infected with the plague himself and still dragging us down, this little guy is too sly.”

Wan Yan Jun roared in anger.

”Senior Brother, what’s the point of saying that now? Think of something quick, or we’re both done for if this continues,”

Chen Zui urgently shouted.

”First, take some pills that resist the plague. Although they might not be of much use, if they can sustain us for a bit, that’s good enough. That Zhan guy must have an antidote on him, kill him, and it’s settled.”

Wan Yan Jun’s forehead was drenched with cold sweat, but at this moment, he calmed down, then took out two pills from his Storage Ring and stuffed them into his mouth.

They had definitely brought medicinal supplies with them to Plague Valley.

However, the extent of their effectiveness was unknown.

”The changes in my body have indeed slowed down, and my True Essence depletion has slowed as well. It works!”

Chen Zui exclaimed with joy.

”That’s good, but I don’t know how long we can hold on. I’ll deal with that Zhan guy, and you take on the Plague Beast. Try to finish them off in the shortest amount of time!”

As soon as Wan Yan Jun finished speaking, he rushed out.

”Hahaha, Wanyan Shi Di, you might as well surrender. It’s futile; even if you take the pills, they only slow down your death. If you cooperate with me, there’s still a chance to live; otherwise, this place will be your burial ground today!”

Grant Valley Master Thomas did not confront Wan Yan Jun directly but used his Body Movement Technique to dodge.

From the skull behind him, a dense green plague mist was continuously exhaled, making the smell in the area increasingly unbearable.

”Scoundrel, don’t think you can escape!”

Wan Yan Jun employed his Body Movement Technique, desperately chasing, but Grant Valley Master Thomas was as elusive as a slippery loach, impossible to grasp.

On the other side, Chen Zui was also facing off against the Plague Beast.

However, despite not dodging or flinching, the Plague Beast had an incredibly stout body, and the attacks that rained down on it seemed to have no effect whatsoever.

The more fiercely the two fought, the more they inhaled the plague gases, and the heavier their bodies felt.

Dizzy and weak, with massive depletion of True Essence.

”Senior Brother Zhan, you said you wanted us to cooperate with you, but exactly how?”

After chasing for a while, Wan Yan Jun finally despaired completely.

The desire to survive made him abandon his dignity as an Inner Sect Disciple of the Moon Hua Sect, and he looked urgently at Grant Valley Master Thomas.

”Hehehe, have you come to your senses?”

Grant Valley Master Thomas was exceedingly cautious, always maintaining a certain distance from Wan Yan Jun, never giving him a chance for a sneak attack.

Meanwhile, Chen Zui had also stopped his attacks.

The prolonged assault had proved ineffective, instead making his condition increasingly dire, and his thoughts completely aligned with Wan Yan Jun’s.

”We’ve made our decision; neither of us wants to die! We are Inner Sect Disciples of the Moon Hua Sect with bright futures ahead, and we absolutely can’t die here!”

Wan Yan Jun replied.

Chen Zui also nodded in agreement.

”Hehe, those who know the times are the best of men. You two aren’t bad, pretty smart! But to show your sincerity, kill that guy over there first!”

The one he referred to was naturally Shangguan Lei.

By this time, Ling Xiao had already been considered dead.

Although Shangguan Lei was seriously injured, he was, after all, a Transcendent Realm Third-Layer Warrior with profound True Essence and had not yet perished.

Wan Yan Jun and Chen Zui showed expressions of difficulty.

If they were asked to kill other disciples of the Moon Hua Sect, they would do so without hesitation.

But Shangguan Lei had entered the Moon Hua Sect with them at the same time, and they had always been good friends. Although they had thought about abandoning Shangguan Lei before.

However, to actually move their hands to kill Shangguan Lei, they really hesitated.

”It seems you’re not very sincere.”

Grant Valley Master Thomas scoffed coldly.

”Senior Brother Zhan, we will do as you say, but how do I know that after we kill Shangguan Lei, you won’t kill the two of us as well?”

Wan Yan Jun still maintained a trace of rationality.

”Hehehehahaha! Fools, do you think you have the value to negotiate terms with me? Whether you believe me or not, I can kill all of you at any moment.”

The words of Grant Valley Master Thomas were ice-cold and cruel.

But that was the reality.

Whether Wan Yan Jun and Chen Zui believed him or not, it was all the same.

”You can’t kill me! We are good friends, good brothers!”

Shangguan Lei cowered in a corner, his body trembling with incomparable fright.

He now regretted it to death, he should never have listened to Hei Suo and Meng Yuan’s advice to come to this damned place for a mission.

Because even if they had not come, Ling Xiao would have died from the Plague anyway.

Thinking he had everything under control, only to end up being killed by his own good brothers... Such a death was truly ironic.

”Sorry, Shangguan, we’ll take good care of your family after we escape alive. Just go in peace.”

Wan Yan Jun approached Shangguan Lei step by step.

Suddenly, a Palm Wind struck from behind.

It was actually Chen Zui.

”Chen Zui, what are you doing?”

Wan Yan Jun exclaimed angrily.

”You’re quite smart. If you kill Shangguan Lei, you can live, but what about me? I’ll kill Shangguan Lei myself!”

Chen Zui had also turned against Wan Yan Jun.

Human nature, ah.

In such circumstances, the three former best friends, three good brothers, had completely turned against each other.

”Hehehe.”

Grant Valley Master Thomas only sneered and did not say a word, not even attempting to stop the two of them.

It seemed as if this commotion was a great enjoyment to him.

”Sigh, what fools you both are, falling for such an obvious scheme of ’using a borrowed knife to kill.’”

Suddenly, a voice rang out from a corner of the Demon Cave.

Ling Xiao had already recovered and sat up, dusting off his body and said, ”If I’m not mistaken, the real Grant Valley Master Thomas died a long time ago. The one standing before you is nothing more than an Evil Spirit that has seized his body.”

”Do you really think these Evil Spirits will let the two of you go, rather than seize your bodies and infiltrate the Moon Hua Sect?”

”Hehehehe, kid, not bad at all that you’ve seen through this, you’re quite remarkable.”

Hearing Ling Xiao exposing his identity, Grant Valley Master Thomas did not panic, for everything was still under his control up to this point.
