Wilderness (Special Base)

Jeremy Night was facing a Tier-6 Beast. He didn’t know when the beast would charge at him, so he kept his eyes on it.

The hybrid beast, over 5 meters in height, was looking at the human. The appearance of the human surprised it.

But it took only a few seconds for the beast to realize that the human Beast Tamer posed no threat to it. It could easily kill the human Beast Tamer and eat him.

Swoosh!

The next second, the hybrid feline bolted from its spot. The speed generated a wind force that swept across the area.

Swoosh!

In a flash, the beast covered the distance and got closer to him. The beast had powerful claws that could easily cut through the body of a Tier-5 Beast; it looked deadly.

[Shall I help?]

He heard Stella’s voice again. But he wanted to fight alone this time. He needed the accumulation. He believed that a tough fight against the Tier-6 beast would push him further.

”No, just help me out when my life is in danger,” he said to Stella.

[Okay!]

Jeremy heard her voice. In a flash, the beast appeared before him and swiped its huge claws at him.

The attack was not the only problem. The Tier-6 Beast released its pressure to suppress him. When the pressure hit his body, he immediately felt restricted.

Fortunately, it was not his first time facing a Tier-6 Beast. He could still evade the attacks.

Swoosh!

The speed of the claw tore through the air, creating a whistling wind just before the deadly claws could touch his body.

”Explosive Steps”

He used the movement technique to evade the attack. At the same time, he unleashed a blade technique.

”Shadow Slash”

The footwork pushed his body to the flank. Right then, he slashed at the beast. The blade’s movement was fast and fluid.

He was using an advanced-level blade skill. As the blade came into contact with the body, the advanced skill behind the Shadow Slash managed to penetrate the hard hide.

Pfff!

A small wound opened from the attack. Blood started flowing from the cut the next second.

Boom!

Right then, a monstrous pressure erupted from the cat beast. It seemed to be activating its ability.

[Get back! It’s going to use its ability.]

Jeremy Night heard Stella’s voice. He used his movement technique again to retreat.

Boom!

The feline beast used its ability to increase its speed exponentially. Even with his eye power, he could barely track the beast’s movements.

Boom!

The deadly claws were reflected in his eyes. If he delayed any further, he would be grievously injured.

Jeremy Night’s talent kicked in. His senses heightened. All of a sudden, his mind became cool and clear.

The movement of the beast slowed in his vision. He didn’t have enough room to use his footwork to escape.

Right then, he raised his left hand to release the Shield of Nets.

Swoosh!

One after another, starlight threads shot from his index finger. They formed a layered net of threads four feet in front of him.

Boom!

When the fourth layer formed, the massive claws collided with the shield. The starlight threads cut through the claws before tearing into the right arm of the beast.

Jeremy Night seized the opening. He gripped the katana tightly in his right hand.

Pfff!

Blood splattered across the ground as the sliced flesh fell.

Stab!

Jeremy Night coated the blade’s edge in starlight power before plunging the sword straight into the neck of the beast.

Pfff!

The blade sank deep inside and severed the blood vessels. The beast froze in shock for a second.

Taking advantage of the opening, he withdrew the blade. Blood gushed out like a torrent, staining the ground beneath them.

At the same time, he stepped back. All of these moves had been executed within a single minute, a completely seamless counterattack.

Thud!

He watched the massive body of the beast collapse to the ground. It didn’t take long for the blood to pool around it.

The feline beast wanted to flee, but the bloodthirsty predator had lost all strength in its legs. It didn’t have the power left to run.

Not only that, but the blood loss was massive; it was growing weaker by the second. Jeremy Night activated his second eye power to inspect the damage.

He confirmed that the beast was dying.

[You killed the beast without my help.]

Jeremy heard Stella’s voice. Hearing that, he smiled and said, ”My self-created thread attack is useful in situations like this.”

[I like the idea of using my power as threads.]

Jeremy heard her compliment again.

”Thanks for the praise. I developed it to handle emergencies like this,” Jeremy said to her.

Stella understood completely.

The Tier-6 Beast took its final breath before his eyes. A rare hybrid of a feline and a hyena was a rare sight.

He figured the corpse would fetch a good price. The next second, he stored the carcass inside his storage ring.

Jeremy then collected his thoughts and took out his device to check the map. He thought he had arrived at the mission location.

Instead of encountering Stone Foxes, he had run into a rare hybrid feline beast.

He checked the map again, and he was right: he was on the border of the mission location. He only needed to cover a few hundred meters to get back on track.

Swoosh!

Jeremy Night started moving on foot. He kept his eye power active to observe the surroundings, knowing that the scent of blood would inevitably attract higher-tier beasts.

Because of that, he couldn’t afford to linger. Who knew? The scent of blood might even draw out the Stone Foxes. He had read about them back in school.

They were notoriously cunning, and tricking them was nearly impossible. If he ran into them, he would have to go all out.

Time passed.

He covered a few hundred meters, but he still didn’t see any sign of a beast-let alone the Stone Foxes.

Finding a specific beast in the wilderness was never easy.
