4th Zone - Special Base

The special team took the special flight that night and returned to the 4th zone. They had failed in their mission. They didn’t find a single piece of evidence.

Elder Carter sighed in relief here. He had watched the special flight leaving the special base. This time he was careless.

Under the pressure of the families behind the faction, he took action against Jeremy Night, who had just joined their base.

Not only did the kid survive, but the team had died. He didn’t know the reason. But he could not tell them the truth as well.

Carter decided not to use the special base members to target Jeremy Night. But these things were not easy to achieve. He could be exposed at any time.

So he thought it would be best if Jeremy Night died due to the higher-tier beasts. It carried no risk. It was not like there were no other ways.

He could influence the missions at the mission desk. He could influence people to reduce the perceived threats of the missions.

If Jeremy Night was not alert, he could die on missions. He made up his mind to alter the mission threat levels.

He knew Jeremy Night’s leaderboard ranking was steadily rising. So he thought Jeremy Night would do the next mission soon.

At that time, he would do something.

Meanwhile,

Elder John called Jeremy Night and got an update from him. Then he minded his own business and didn’t disturb Jeremy Night.

He thought Jeremy Night was practicing diligently.

...

Back in the room, Jeremy Night was doing close-combat training. He was training his muscles to tense and relax with precise timing.

Only then could he steadily maintain the vibrations.

As time passed, he changed the frequency. He was using different frequencies to experiment.

He transferred the vibration to a dummy puppet to study the impact.

In order to increase the strength of the vibration, he began to use natural energy. He moved the natural energy to his palm.

He then created steady vibrations. When they transferred to the dummy puppet, it exploded into pieces.

When the puppet landed on the ground, he swapped in another puppet and continued the practice with a different frequency.

Days passed by.

He made progress in the close-combat technique and the Star Fist technique.

He spent most of his hours on close combat, followed by the Star Fist, then the blade moves, such as the Triple Rapid Cuts, Blade One, and the Shadow Slash.

He also spent 20 minutes in the morning improving his Explosive Steps and Feather Steps.

Forenoon.

He entered the practice room. He turned on the switch. The natural energy entered the room. It began to fill up the room very fast.

When the energy was dense, he sat cross-legged on the ground. Then he closed his eyes and started running his breathing method.

The natural energy flowed inside his body. His greedy cells were absorbing the natural energy.

Not long after, the greedy cells stopped absorbing the natural energy. The unknown beast egg hadn’t reacted so far.

He tried to absorb more natural energy. He finally felt his limit. It was time for a small-stage breakthrough. It came a couple of days earlier than he thought.

He continued with the circulation. The unknown beast egg became active after some time.

Buzz!

It started to suck the natural energy in the room.

Jeremy Night felt his heart at ease. If the unknown beast egg achieved a breakthrough, then his breakthrough would naturally follow.

Twenty minutes later,

The unknown beast egg broke the limit.

Tier-3, 8th Rank - Mid Stage

It reached the Mid Stage from the Early Stage. The beast then continued to absorb the natural energy in the room.

It didn’t take long for the beast to stabilize and start giving feedback energy. The feedback energy entered Jeremy Night’s body.

It began to go through an evolution. His skin, flesh, bones, veins, and meridians were improving at a faster rate.

Click!

His physique broke the limit and entered the Mid Stage as well.

Tier-3, 8th Rank - Mid Stage

If he continued with the same method of doing missions and training, then he would reach the Peak Stage soon.

He then continued to run the breathing method to stabilize his new strength.

That evening, he walked out of the practice room. He then went to the bath to take a shower. He spent 20 minutes in the bath.

Later that same night, he started his night training. He wanted to adapt to the new rise in his body’s strength.

He repeated the training the following morning.

Postnoon.

After getting ready, he left the room. He went to the administration building to select a mission. He came across Elder Smith there.

Once again, he received the mission device and began to browse the mission list.

[Mission: Find a Grade-6 Herbal Flower at the abandoned valley. Time limit: 5 days. Credit Points: 600. Leaderboard Points: 1500.]

Jeremy Night’s gaze paused on the mission. He decided to do the mission. He then gave the device to Elder Smith.

Smith read the mission. He furrowed his eyebrows. He noticed it was the abandoned valley. There was a reason behind the high rewards.

”Are you sure?” Smith asked.

”There is a small river flowing through it. It usually attracts the higher-tier beasts nearby,” Smith reminded him.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night nodded his head.

Smith shook his head before registering the mission. He didn’t know why the kid was being suicidal.

Then he realized it could be the reason behind the young man’s talent to fight across Tiers.

After the registration was done, Jeremy left the administration building. There were people in the building who noticed Jeremy Night.

They immediately informed Elder Carter. This time, Elder Carter didn’t do anything. When he heard it was the abandoned valley mission, he was shocked.

Because he didn’t need to do anything. The abandoned valley itself was dangerous. He thought the young man had foolishly selected the mission.

The higher-tier beasts there would definitely kill the kid.
