STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Central University 14:

Joint Training Facility,

There is a commotion in the joint training facility. The Beast Tamers who have come here to practice are disturbed by the disaster hitting City A.

They witnessed the underground collapse in various places. So far, countless buildings have been destroyed. The death toll of people is still unknown.

The students here are discussing it. Some of them even contacted their families to ask about their well-being. Among the Central University students, many are locals.

It won’t be a surprise if any of them have families living near the collapsed areas. So the whole university is in a state of panic.

The Department Heads are working to calm down the students. Everyone has seen powerful beast tamers going to various places to save people.

The locals here are not that weak. Many of them are at least Tier-2 Beast Tamers. Unless some unexpected circumstances arise, the death toll won’t increase.

Daniel Stone is looking for Jeremy Night. He learned the news a few minutes ago. He immediately thought of their mission. He could only remember the underground passage explored by Brother Jeremy.

He doesn’t know whether the ongoing disaster is connected to the same passage.

Similarly, Betsy Lowe is shocked to the core. She knows a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast appeared yesterday from that passage. Now that the underground passage collapses, it is causing various destruction across the city.

She strongly feels that it’s connected to their mission site. She leaves the library to find Daniel and Jeremy Night.

It doesn’t take long for her to find Daniel Stone. Then they both ask around and find out that Jeremy Night is using one of their training rooms.

”Brother Jeremy was probably unaware of the situation outside,” Daniel Stone says to her.

”He told us that the passage has several routes connecting to various parts of the city. I suspect the disaster is related to the mission.”

”The underground passages have collapsed for some reason,” Betsy Lowe voices her opinion.

The expression on Daniel Stone’s face changes. He doesn’t know whether they are safe. If it were prior to another beast invasion, then everyone would face extreme danger.

”Hey, Betsy. Do you think there will be another invasion?” Daniel Stone asks.

Hearing that, Betsy’s expression changes as well. She looks at him and says, ”Don’t scare me.”

She hadn’t thought about it earlier. Now, after hearing his words, she is genuinely worried.

”Instructor Jacob is still monitoring that place. Maybe we can get answers from him,” she then says.

Hearing that, Daniel’s eyes light up. He decides to call him.

Meanwhile,

Commander Harris has figured out the situation. He thinks Instructor Jacob has done a good job. He can leave now.

”Instructor Jacob, from now on I’ll take care of this matter. You can go back to the university,” Harris says.

Hearing that, Jacob sighs in relief. He wants to go back as well because he knows from Head Derek that there are no Beasts inside the passage. But this matter is not known to the public.

Since there is no threat of the Corrupted Beasts, he decides to leave. After nodding to Commander Harris, he leaves the place.

Shortly afterward,

He leaves the barricaded area. Right after, he receives a call from Daniel Stone. He is stunned. Then he realizes they must be in a panic.

So he answers the call.

”Instructor, what’s going on?”

”Is there any corrupted beast attacking the place?” Daniel’s hurried voice sounds.

Hearing that, Jacob reveals a helpless smile.

”Guys, there is no danger from the corrupted beasts. Head Derek explored the place yesterday itself. It’s just that the passage collapse has caught everyone off guard.”

”So don’t think too much about it,” Jacob replies to him.

Only after hearing him out do Daniel Stone and Betsy Lowe sigh in relief.

”Okay, I’m coming back. So I’m ending the call,” Jacob says before hanging up and resuming his journey.

Time passes,

The Tier-6 Beast Tamers and their teams haven’t found a single corrupted beast. It’s been some time since the underground passage collapse has stopped, so the situation has puzzled them.

On the other hand, the medical team and rescue teams are helping people out. Many families have been rescued safely from the collapsed structures.

Some of them are severely injured. They are taken to the nearest hospital. While rescuing, the teams have also found deceased individuals.

They were elderly people. The building collapse has killed them on the spot. So the death toll count starts to increase.

The helicopters flying over the sky continue to report live. People are watching the rescue operation live.

Meanwhile,

The three City Governors are directly overseeing the operation. They have confirmed that no corrupted beasts have appeared from these caved-in places.

From the City Administration, the City Governors know that the collapse began occurring during their underground passage investigation.

The Investigation Team has found that the underground passage ends at the Goldcorp construction site. They are unsure whether the ongoing construction is the reason for the collapse.

But for the City Governors, it is enough to know that the Goldcorp Organization is connected to this incident. Because Central University 14’s Dean Carolyn has already sent them the evidence.

It is recorded footage of the passage end. It shows a small secluded facility where human activities were detected. Now they know that the place seen in the footage is located near the construction site.

No one can enter the Goldcorp Organization’s project site. Yet someone has secretly operated the illegal base under their nose. They also realized the rat beasts were used to cause disturbances in City A.

If something happens, then the three City Governors will be held responsible. So they are furious right now. They have watched footage as well.

Apart from that, they don’t have additional evidence. The three City Governors have decided to confront Goldcorp Organization representatives after today’s rescue efforts.

Right now, they are grateful to Central University 14. If not for their intel, they wouldn’t have known about such a conspiracy.
