Pillar of Yita

So it’s perfectly normal for anyone who doesn’t know the inside story to have such thoughts.

He was a bit surprised that Luo Yu hadn’t talked about this with his parents, but given that there are so many secrets about the Seven Seas Traveler, it seems he wasn’t wrong in not mentioning it.

”We have money!” Tianlan was angry and jumped up from her seat.

But Luo Yu’s mother wasn’t surprised at all, she simply replied: ”You may have some funds now, but what about in the future?” She then looked at Fang Hong: ”Besides, Captain Ade, you should be aware that this isn’t just about money.”

She paused before asking again: ”Do you have a quota to go to the Second World?”

This question stumped everyone at the table.

Even Tianlan couldn’t help but shut her mouth, and the table fell into a silent pause.

...

The biting wind from the north carried fluttering snowflakes that still fell gracefully from the sky.

Fang Hong looked at Luo Yu, who hadn’t emerged from the previous quarrel, and sighed. His comfort seemed to have little impact on Luo Yu at the moment.

But this wasn’t surprising. On one side were his parents, and on the other were the teammates he had lived with day and night for a year. Although he eventually decided to stay, it was nothing short of a complete break with his parents, and anyone would feel anguish and conflict in such circumstances.

”Look on the bright side,” he spoke up once more: ”Your uncle and aunt haven’t completely opposed it, as long as we secure enough quotas, we can persuade them. After all, they don’t necessarily want you to leave the Seven Seas Travel Group; they just don’t understand us.”

”Easy for you to say, securing that many quotas in just one year is impossible. Brother Ade, don’t fool us, I know how precious the quotas to go to the Second World are, being from the Twelve-Colored Iris myself.”

Tianlan couldn’t hold her temper and spoke again.

Since her arrival at Colin Ishurian, she had never endured such grievance—she viewed the Seven Seas Travel Group as the best in the world, and even if it wasn’t now, it surely would be in the future. Anyone looking down on this group angered her more than looking down on herself.

And yet, she couldn’t refute it since the others were Luo Yu’s parents. Even if she was stubborn, she understood that they had a point.

She was simply angry that Luo Yu had never told her about it over the past few months.

Even to the point of grinding her teeth in frustration—

At this moment, Hilveld also came out of the inn. With Xiesta’s help, she put on a coat, adjusted her collar, and came to Fang Hong’s side. The lady noble quietly touched him with her hand, gave him an eye-catching smile, and gently asked:

”I didn’t cause you any trouble just now, did I, my Lord Captain?”

Fang Hong shook his head again.

It was their Miss Ship’s Officer who proposed securing the ticket to the Second World within a year in front of Luo Yu’s parents. In reality, it was this statement that decisively saved the nearly stagnant atmosphere at the table.

Because Luo Yu was determined not to leave the Seven Seas Travel Group, even showing a willingness to break with his parents, and Fang Hong certainly didn’t want just this reason to cause such a situation.

He understood Luo Yu well enough to know that even if he stayed, the matter would become an emotional burden for him.

Unlike Tianlan, Luo Yu couldn’t simply leave home for a year and a half so casually and with a carefree attitude.

”That was the only choice at the time. Luo Yu’s parents are willing to give us a year, which is enough to show their trust in us,” Fang Hong replied. ”Moreover, although it’s a challenge, we aren’t without hope.”

But Tianlan didn’t believe it.

”Anyway, I can’t see where the hope is,” she grumbled softly, still angry, ”and I certainly don’t want to understand them—selfish and greedy.”

”Tianlan, they are Luo Yu’s parents, he is your teammate, not your enemy,” Atira finally spoke up again, ”Even among us elves, it’s reasonable for the elder to place expectations on the younger ones; maybe the method isn’t right, but it’s precisely why communication between people is necessary.”

Tianlan wanted to refute, but looked at Luo Yu standing nearby and decided not to speak.

”Anyway, the situation isn’t the worst yet,” Fang Hong exhaled, surprised the meeting had turned out like this. Yet, as ever the optimist, such difficulties didn’t deter him.

He looked at Luo Yu and smiled: ”Don’t worry, it’s really not worth worrying about. I promised another very important person to me similar words long ago.”

”I said we will surely build the most famous adventure group in this world in the future, at least one of the most famous. What is the Second World? Not just reaching the Second World, we might even find the doors to the Third World, I haven’t forgotten those words I spoke before.”

Fang Hong vowed confidently: ”These words will stand, Luo Yu, your parents will understand us too.”

Luo Yu took a breath, tightened his lips, and looked up at them, and his gaze met everyone else’s except Tianlan. Even Miss Nightingale smiled and nodded at him.

Of course, only one little girl turned her head away, presenting him with a big back of her head. Luo Yu looked helplessly at his little girlfriend and sighed, but Fang Hong’s words did manage to cast aside the worries he had harbored for months, even if just for a moment.

Still, the lingering clouds of his parents’ attitudes weighed on his heart. Although they said they’d leave him a year’s time, he knew his mother well enough to know that if within a month or two they didn’t secure the quotas, she would surely propose other conditions.

But for now, he had somehow resolved the issue.

Tianlan listened to Fang Hong’s boasting, couldn’t help but roll her eyes, and said: ”Brother Ade, you really should have limits to your boasting. And please keep your voice down, if someone hears us, I’ll be embarrassed to death.”

”Wait, this isn’t boasting,” Fang Hong paused, ”I’m serious.”

”Are you saying that the future Seven Seas Travel Group will be more famous than FOX’s Journey of Grey?”

Fang Hong didn’t dare say that.

The King of Grey, FOX, is no ordinary person, is he?

”At, at the very least, on par,”

”Hah, revealed your true self, Brother Ade, you’re useless!”

But despite the banter, actually securing the quotas needed by the Seven Seas Travel Group within a year was indeed a surreal task. What Fang Hong was really considering was another method.
