Pillar of Yita

After the lady introduced herself to them, she immediately said: ”I’ve heard about the contract between the Tabopolis Oak Knights and you. They rented Luo Yu and Gita to you, we were aware of that at the time, and we did not oppose it.”

”My husband and I entrusted our son to the Oak Knights because we have past ties with them, and we still feel some affection toward the Knight Order. We have contributed quite a bit to it. They promised to give Luo Yu the best possible treatment, and this promise doesn’t end with them handing Luo Yu over to you.”

”It is precisely because of this reason that we agreed to that transaction.”

Fang Hong opened his mouth.

But the lady stopped him: ”Ade, right?”

”Yes, Aunt.”

”Ade, I have heard some things about you.” Luo Yu’s mother softened her tone slightly, ”We were once Invokers ourselves, so we understand your pursuits. The Free Summoner, this is one of Tabopolis’s spirits. So when Luo Yu initially proposed to adventure with you, his father and I chose to consent.”

But she then changed her tone, ”However, please understand my expectations for Luo Yu as a mother. We hope that one day he can go to the Second World, at least farther than us, rather than wasting time in the First World. You should know what Super Competitive is, although many people come to this world, only a few are truly remembered by others.”

Fang Hong was slightly taken aback.

Luo Yu’s mother continued: ”Now that the Tabopolis Oak Knights are gone, your contract with the Knight Order has actually been declared null. Due to the dissolution of the Knight Order, this can be considered a force majeure. So I think we need to re-examine our initial decision.”

Tianlan sat at the side of the table, only now understanding the meaning behind these words. She turned her head incredulously to look at the people beside her.

Luo Yu frowned: ”Mom, I...”

”Shut up.”

Luo Yu’s mother directly interrupted him: ”This is between us and your team, we trust your captain, and you should trust him too. In such an occasion, it is not your place to speak.”

Luo Yu froze, holding onto his Magic Guided Wand, and sat back down.

Fang Hong couldn’t help but click his tongue, he had never seen such a parent-child relationship. Although Lady Zhang Rou would ’sometimes’ scold him, most of the time, his relationship with his uncle and aunt’s family was equal—except for the matter of becoming a Chosen, everything else could be discussed equally.

Not just him, Tang Xin was the same.

However, at this point, he understood he couldn’t avoid speaking:

”Aunt, regarding Luo Yu, he...”

”Captain Ade, without contractual restrictions, Luo Yu should be free to make his own decisions regarding his whereabouts.” Luo Yu’s mother spoke forcefully: ”But I understand the relationship between teammates, which is why I wanted to meet everyone. We actually have already talked with another local guild, they are willing to accept Luo Yu under the same conditions, and there, Luo Yu has the opportunity to go to the Second World.”

She looked at Fang Hong, then at everyone present: ”You and Luo Yu are friends, you should hope he can go further, right?”

”What you’re saying is too selfish.”

A voice filled with resentment came from one side.

Fang Hong didn’t need to look to know it was Tianlan. This girl from France always has a zero tolerance attitude, especially when Luo Yu is involved; there’s no way she could endure this.

Actually, the fact that she waited until now to speak was already because she was considering that they were Luo Yu’s parents.

Gita sat obediently aside, even looking a bit frightened as she watched Tianlan, biting her lip, her face pale white—

But the woman sitting opposite didn’t even glance at Tianlan, focusing her eyes only on Fang Hong.

Fang Hong was silent for a moment, then succinctly replied:

”Aunt, even if Luo Yu stays with the Seven Seas Travel Group, he can also go to the Second World.”

”I believe you have this ability,” Luo Yu’s mother replied at last: ”Ade, we aren’t unaware of your achievements. Every feat you’ve accomplished in Dolifen or in Fanric, Luo Yu’s father and I have seen it all. We once were Invokers, not oblivious fools. At first, when the Oak Knights decided to lease Luo Yu and Gita to you, I believe the Yugudola people weren’t acting blindly either.”

”Then why?” Tianlan couldn’t help but ask in dissatisfaction.

”But the Knight Order is no longer,” Luo Yu’s mother said: ”Ade, being an Invoker is not just about romantic adventures; you’ve been in this world for a year, you should have realized this point. Without a strong guild or faction supporting in the background, a simple adventure group cannot go far. You once had the support of the Oak Knights, even built your own Floating Ship, but what about after?”

Fang Hong was surprised that Luo Yu’s parents thought their Airship was funded by the Tabopolis Oak Knights. However, this was not surprising; under normal circumstances, how could an adventure group have such a cash flow?
