Pillar of Yita

”Theoretically, we shouldn’t oppose it, we should support it all. Lord Captain must have seen it too, the people on the community are excitedly discussing it. Guess who those people are? They are not the vested interests under the current system, but those who are eager to seek change, those with ambition.”

”Of course, most of these people might end up being mere fodder for others. In a grand feast, the ultimate winners, after all, are just those same ones.”

”Elisa?” Fang Hong was completely surprised that Miss Nightingale on his ship would say such things. It seemed to subvert his understanding, looking at Elisa as if he didn’t recognize her.

But the twin sister just smiled and turned back.” Are you a bit shocked, Lord Captain? But these are actually not my real thoughts, just some grievances from my heart. However, they are the premise of my question—As an Invoker, do we really need to worry about the Star of Calamity descending?”

Fang Hong couldn’t help but feel a bit silent.

Nini on his shoulder looked at her ’Papa’ and then at ’Aunt Elisa’. Her naive and innocent young heart couldn’t possibly comprehend this dialogue, but she could vaguely see the tense atmosphere between the two.

She retreated a bit worriedly, curling her tail, nervously biting the tip with her tiny, snow-white teeth.

”What if Colin Ishurian is destroyed?”

”Or even further, what if Eteliria is destroyed, what will happen?”

The two questions seemed somewhat aggressive, but Fang Hong stood still, his heart restless with fear, showing its true face at this moment.

What appeared before him were Hilveld, Big Cat People, Miss Atira, and every person he encountered during this journey. Some were friends, some had a teacher-student bond with him, some bestowed everything upon him, and some provided significant help.

Even if Eteliria is destroyed, what will happen?

This world might seem somewhat mystical and unreal to Earthlings.

Without an understanding of death, people always lack a heavy sense of reality in the world.

But solely, everything people experience, everyone they meet on their travels, what they hear, witness, and the feelings in their hearts, are eternally genuine.

The exchange of information seems to have occurred at the moment they encountered this world.

Fang Hong couldn’t help but clench his fist—Eteliria is, to them, definitely not merely a grand dream.

Elisa looked at him and couldn’t help but laugh:” It seems the answer of Lord Captain is very simple, it’s just that you cannot let go of the Big Cat People, Miss Atira, and of course, your Miss Hilveld.”

Upon hearing the last name, Fang Hong couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed, but he understood in his heart that it wasn’t just because of Hilveld alone.

After a brief moment of silence, he replied:

”So can Miss Elisa let go of them, Atira, Hilveld, and the Big Cat People?”

Upon hearing this question, the girl rarely did not retort, she just gently smiled, her eyes sparkling with soft and tender light, ”I certainly cannot let them go either.”

Fang Hong looked at her with a hint of surprise.

Elisa found it somewhat amusing:” Lord Captain, why are you looking at me like that? It’s quite normal, after all, emotion and reason are inherently two sides of human nature, and I am not particularly peculiar, so naturally, it’s the same.”

”Family love, romantic love, and friendship—the noble qualities celebrated in countless poems, I also yearn for them, no different from other people. Not only me, but Tianlan, Parker, even Xiangzi, they’re the same, the differences between people aren’t as big as imagined.”

”Humans are emotional beings, and it’s our attachment to emotions that is one of our most precious qualities, Lord Captain.”

She began and ended with Lord Captain.

Fang Hong couldn’t help but gape at Miss Nightingale.

He never dreamt that the twin sister would say something akin to preaching.

”So what should we do, Lord Captain?” Elisa looked at him but muttered to herself:” I suppose as the captain of the Seven Seas Traveler, you can’t get bogged down in these insignificant details like us nobodies, right?”

The faint sense of heartwarming Fang Hong felt just began to rise, was snuffed out, he looked at her wryly:” Miss Elisa, you certainly don’t count as a nobody.”

He finally realized, on this ship, count anyone you want, except himself who seemingly serves no purpose as Lord Captain, everyone seemed like no pushover.

Elisa covered her mouth and laughed, ”I accept that compliment, but you better not tell Miss Hilveld, or she’ll definitely cause me trouble.”

Fang Hong nodded, conversing with the twin sister at last dispelled the fog from his heart.

Indeed, whether the Star of Calamity affects every Invoker is beyond his scope. But this journey, they must continue along this path, for this world is already inseparable from them.

Moreover, he believes it’s not just him who thinks this way. Perhaps one day, he’ll encounter more like-minded individuals, Eteliria experienced calamity twice, and this time might not be such a big deal.

Dispelling the barrier within his heart, he finally returned to his previous state, yet looking at Elisa, he felt that Miss Nightingale seemed intentional in coming to say these things.

But Elisa naturally wouldn’t admit it, simply changed the topic:” Though Lord Captain, before worrying about Gula Port’s matters, I suggest concentrating on what’s in front of us.”

”Hmm?”

”The barometer shows a storm approaching from the north, of course, that’s not the key. The key is that we are already in Charter City’s airspace, not long ago Gita informed us of several Wind Element detection points nearby.”

Fang Hong was shocked:” Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

”The Lord Captain never asked earlier.”

”....”

Fang Hong slapped his forehead, speechlessly rushed out.

Only taking two steps out, he turned back, looked at Elisa, and said:” Yes, there’s one thing I forgot to tell you.”

”Please speak, Lord Captain.” Miss Nightingale answered very politely.

”You weren’t entirely correct about what you said earlier.”

”Which part, Lord Captain?”

”You said that for the Invokers, the event of the Star of Calamity should really be hung up, right?”

Elisa rolled her long hair, curiously asked:” Oh, what does Lord Captain have to teach?”

Fang Hong closed his mouth, his expression slightly serious.

In his heart, there was always a chilling thought. He always felt that the conversation with Su Changfeng previously hinted at a possibility.

Is Earth really safe?

He took a deep breath, then replied:

”They might really not be able to hang it up high.”

”Not just them, even our world might not be able to remain uninvolved.”

Elisa was stunned, staring blankly.
