Pillar of Yita

”Think from a different perspective?”

”Whether it’s the Arcanists, Count Nulman, the King of Sand, the Grand Princess, or even the Southern Alliance, they all act according to their ’motives.’ Everyone has a purpose for their actions.”

”I certainly understand that,” Fang Hong wasn’t foolish; he had considered this long ago: ”But without any clues, their individual purposes are equally difficult to ascertain.”

”Their motives might be varied,” Hilveld smiled slightly, her gaze bright: ”But there will always be a common point of interest.”

Common point of interest.

Fang Hong’s eyes lit up.

Yes, without a common point of interest, an alliance wouldn’t be formed.

Why do the Arcanists pledge allegiance to the King of Sand? Because they need his Strength to reclaim everything they’ve lost in the last religious power struggle.

As for why Count Nulman stands on the side of the King of Sand, it’s because their interests align; the status of the Aimoyiben Family is built on the trust of the King of Sand.

The Oathkeeper Clan also shelters under Barbaltan, yet they naturally stand opposed to the Cultists, hence their attitude seems somewhat subtle—perhaps this is exactly why the King of Sand trusts them so much.

The interest relations of the Natives are very clear and almost visible, but why the Southern Region Alliance is involved is a great question mark. However, this question mark in Fang Hong’s mind doesn’t represent the unknown but rather a series of clues he couldn’t see before, coming to light.

Where is the common point of interest between the Southern Region League and the King of Sand? He might not see it for the moment. But he knows where the Southern Alliance’s interests lie—the old alliance has become a past term after BBK entered the Southern Region—although, in private, this alliance still exists, it now faces the threat of division without public constraints.

Fang Hong had heard everything that had happened in the White City recently—

Ye Hua, the old generation of Invokers, would absolutely not support the division activities of the Southern Region. Therefore, all that is happening now can only indicate one problem—that there are different voices within the old Southern Region Alliance.

It’s quite normal. Although the Super Competitive League’s reputation was greatly damaged in the Fanric battle and even subjected to military investigation, as long as the international order doesn’t change, the league will surely have a comeback one day. And BBK taking over the Southern Region has almost become a certainty; in a hopeless situation, some taking risks is understandable.

Of course, whether or not there is incitement from some interested parties, that’s hard to say.

But on the other hand, Ye Hua and the former establishment faction of the Southern Region Alliance certainly won’t just watch all these happenings because they must be aware that what’s happening in the White City now not only won’t save the Southern Alliance but will push everything they’re holding on to into the Abyss.

Before the chaos occurs, the Alliance at least has a moral advantage, but once the ”Stargate Declaration” is violated, they’ve lost their last foothold.

Yet, Ye Hua and others can’t stand out and call for resistance abandonment.

Because with his influence, if he stands out to suggest this, it’s nothing but two outcomes. One is to greatly diminish the morale of the past Southern Alliance’s underground resistance; the other is being viewed as a betrayal, especially in this moment of Despair, where the sense of disillusionment is easily produced.

This Ranger of the Ten Kings is a banner of the Southern Alliance, and if the banner falls, the blow to the resistance movement is imaginable.

Hence, they must come up with other methods to reverse all this.

But what method could it be?

At this moment, Fang Hong has a faint feeling that perhaps the Southern Alliance’s activities in Istania are related to this plan.

However, Istania has always been outside the Colin Ishurian political circle, so how can the happenings on this land of Sand Sea affect the Kingdom’s Southern Region?

This sounds somewhat like a fairy tale, but a ’fairy tale’ in this situation isn’t a bad thing, because unusualness indicates fewer possibilities—perhaps only one or two.

As long as he finds some clues, he can analyze the reasons, avoiding the current overwhelming confusion with many clues proving futile. Realizing this point, Fang Hong looks at his Miss Ship’s Officer with a different gaze; if not for the crowd, he almost didn’t pick her up for a heavy kiss.

Hilveld felt his gaze and couldn’t help but chuckle lightly.

The other people hadn’t noticed this small interaction between the two—except for Xiesta, whose gaze was intensely directed at them.

And Miss Nightingale, the gossip queen was nearby, naturally caught on to this detail, looking at the two with amusement and asking, ”Lord Captain has got an idea.”

Fang Hong felt Miss Maid’s gaze, like a sharp sword, sweeping towards them—feeling somewhat guilty, he nodded hurriedly.

”Actually, this matter is not very related to us,” he replied, ”but due to the Princess’s issue, I feel it’s a bit improper.”

”Lord Captain worries about getting embroiled in Royal Household conflicts?”

Elisa asked again.

Fang Hong nodded.

But at this time, Hilveld remarked, ”Actually, I think, there’s no need to worry too much on this front.”
