Pillar of Yita

But looking at the two attendants beside this person, he suddenly had a slight change in heart and altered his thoughts. This individual seemed to come from a high background, and although he might not necessarily be able to provide assistance, at a time when there are no leads, befriending a noble in the city to gather some intelligence could be beneficial.

With this in mind, he stopped and nodded.

The tower-style magic guided reactor is quite an ancient magic guided reactor, one could even say it’s an antique. The design of this magic guided reactor emerged roughly six to seven centuries ago, being one of the early configurations of magic guided reactors. It once prospered in the Osh Empire but gradually faded from history with the advent of new generations of magic guided reactor designs.

The last model of the tower-style magic guided reactor retired from the historical stage three centuries ago, and at this moment, the young man holds such a magic guided reactor. Others might not recognize this type of magic guided reactor, but for him, it is different, as the tower-style magic guided reactor is a classic early design, which initially can be traced back to the era of the Numelin Elves.

Hain Famm listed on his design blueprints the scenarios for how the Type-One Crystal should be utilized within ’new-style’ magic guided reactors, implying the tower-style magic guided reactor. Of course, this elf master could not have foreseen that what he considered as a new-style magic guided reactor was obsolete and outdated over a thousand years later.

In reality, transforming the outdated crystal design into something usable for contemporary magic guided reactors had consumed a fair amount of effort from Fang Hong. The concept of the Type-One Crystal was naturally proposed by this elf master, but implementing it from paper to reality was entirely done by him.

For this reason, he has an exceptional understanding of various old-style magic guided reactor structures.

The young man was delighted to see him nod. ”Are you an alchemist?”

The staff member at the counter initially wanted to say something but instinctively paused upon seeing the five golden cross stars on Fang Hong’s collar, then even looked at Fang Hong with some surprise.

Such a young, high-leveled alchemist is a rarity in Istania.

The young man had evidently noticed this too and straightforwardly moved over with his attendants, speaking sincerely: ”My name is Aleph. Could you help me repair this magic guided reactor? Since you can recognize it, you must understand this type of magic guided reactor, right?”

”Repair?” Fang Hong was a bit surprised. Although he couldn’t repair this thing, the core of a magic guided reactor is crystal. If the crystal framework isn’t damaged, other parts like the shell and ether guidance can be fixed by a apprentice. Yet the crystal framework wouldn’t pose much of a challenge to a professional crystal craftsman — tower-style magic guided reactors may be obscure, but they certainly don’t stump him.

He was a bit taken aback by why anyone would want to repair this thing. Not that it’s worthless scrap metal, a tower-style magic guided reactor could still be considered an ancient artifact today, and many wealthy individuals and alchemists would collect such items.

But whether the magic guided reactor can be used is irrelevant for collectibles, as long as its ’condition’ remains intact, that’s all that matters. After all, no one genuinely uses an antique magic guided reactor.

”Yes,” Aleph nodded. ”You must have come to the Adventurers’ Guild seeking commissions, right? If you’re willing, could you treat this as a commission? We can register it as such at the guild, and it would be no different from any regular commission in terms of points and remuneration.”

”As for remuneration, you can rest assured. We can calculate according to the highest tier.”

Fang Hong thought to himself, this person indeed seems well-off, and appears to have some stature and status. His confidence in the Adventurers’ Guild selling him a favor suggests he must have some connections there.

Besides, the staff member on the side didn’t oppose.

He intended to make new friends, so he didn’t object either, just nodded and said: ”Let me take a look first.”

Aleph reacted like grabbing onto a lifeline, promptly handing over the item.

As Fang Hong expected, the tower-style magic guided reactor indeed had issues with its crystal framework; the internal core crystal was completely unusable.

After seeking the other party’s opinion and learning that replacements could be made, he directly bought materials from the Adventurers’ Guild and crafted a core crystal onsite — naturally, the bill was paid by the other party.

While he was crafting the core crystal, several alchemists entering the hall had their attention captured by the activity. They were initially inquiring about any tasks, seeing if they could benefit. But upon learning it involved crafting a core crystal, they couldn’t help but look at Fang Hong in astonishment.

In the frontier land of Istania, skilled craftsmen are scarce, let alone crystal artisans. The number of alchemists among the Invoker has been steadily rising in recent years, yet the number of crystal craftsman hasn’t increased much. The reason being that these crafts are luxurious and require craftsmen to possess solid foundational knowledge.

This very requirement weeds out most of the Invoker, while native individuals can dedicate themselves to developing in this track.

Now having such a young crystal craftsman is particularly surprising.

Young and high-leveled alchemists are nearly synonymous with Invokers —

But for Fang Hong, these are matters with which he has long been accustomed. Whether it be crafting crystals, dismantling magic guided reactors, or even the tower-style magic guided reactor itself, none of it is anything exotic. While others gaze in bewilderment, he completes the task with swift proficiency, considering he has plenty more to accomplish.
