A Sect from a Spirit Vein

Chapter 437: Chapter 395: Taking a Master

Li Da lost his focus, causing the next segment to go unannounced. Lu Qian had to lightly cough to remind him, making his face turn red in an instant, and he quickly shouted, ”Please welcome Elder Jiang to recount the achievements of the six True Disciples!”

This segment, recounting achievements and making names, was planned by Lu Qian. It is about reading out the various achievements the six True Disciples have accomplished since joining, clearly explaining to everyone why they are able to ascend to True Disciple status.

One purpose is to earn the disciples’ genuine respect and give True Disciples a sense of honor. Another purpose is to motivate all disciples, showing that with diligent effort and accumulated achievements, they too can be promoted to True Disciple status one day.

Jiang Qingfeng stood up, paid respects to Lu Qian, clasped his fists and did a circle salute to the guests, then moved to the side of the six, facing all disciples, and unfolded the Jade Scroll in his hand.

”Fourth-generation disciple Jiang Baitao, since entering the sect, has been diligent in learning and cultivation... completed one hundred and eighty-three tasks across various levels, accumulated merit points... faced formidable enemies without retreat, sacrificing herself for the safety of fellow disciples, successfully holding out until reinforcements arrived, helping our sect execute Elder Hee Yangchen of Xuanguang Sect...”

To speak frankly, among these six, Baitao’s achievements are the weakest, and she has completed the fewest tasks.

She started as Inner Sect Jia Class, born with favorable conditions, but has been somewhat lazy in regular sect duties, proactive efforts, and active participation, resulting in her merit points being insufficient for normal promotion to True Disciple over the eight years.

Knowing that the True Disciple Ceremony would be held on the first of October, Jiang Qingfeng gave her a firm order to accumulate enough merit points before then.

Thus, Jiang Baitao dragged Li Da and Wang Ruoyu along, rushing to complete tasks, even though it was originally difficult.

Yet she showed no fear, threatening with her life, a deed that deeply moved Lu Qian, earning a substantial amount of extra merit points, finally promoting to True Disciple before the ceremony.

Baitao, being Sect Leader’s junior sister, recently had her story of ”sacrificing herself, threatening with her life” circulate widely within the Shuangye Alliance. Of course, the version says Jiang Baitao was wise and courageous, delaying until Lu Qian led the army to arrive, ultimately killing Hee Yangchen and two other Foundation Establishment cultivators.

So now her promotion to True Disciple has no objections whatsoever.

Jiang Qingfeng finished reading, Lu Qian beckoned for Baitao to come forward, adopting a serious tone, ”Jiang Baitao, I intend to accept you as a disciple on behalf of the Yunshan Sect’s third-generation Sect Leader and former master Tongchenzi, and I will guide your cultivation in place of Master. Are you willing?”

Though lively, Jiang Baitao knows she cannot be frivolous at this moment and respectfully performed a salute, crisply responding, ”Disciple is willing.”

Then, Lu Qian brought out the spiritual tablet of the former master, witnessed by everyone, and under the guidance of the ceremonial officer, Jiang Baitao performed a ritual of three kneelings and nine kowtows, then offered Lu Qian a cup of tea.

”Sect Leader Brother, please drink tea.”

Lu Qian took the tea, sipped it lightly, then took out a Jade Ruler, gently tapped Jiang Baitao on the top of her head, shoulder, and chest, as a gesture of admonition.

”Taotao, since you have acknowledged me as your master, you must focus on diligent practice henceforth and think thrice before acting, avoiding mischievous behavior. Otherwise, I will severely punish you on behalf of Master.”

Baitao nodded amiably, ”Yes, Sect Leader Brother.”

However, her twinkling eyes show she surely hasn’t suppressed her mischief.

”Ceremony completed!”

Three more bell rings sounded, indicating that Jiang Baitao has completed all aspects of the apprenticeship ceremony, and from now on, she is truly a direct lineage junior sister of the Law Inheritance Sect Leader!

Jiang Baitao giggled, just as she was about to ask for a teacher’s gift, but Jiang Qingfeng swiftly pulled her aside and gave her a sharp glare, commanding her to quickly retreat to the rear hall and wait.

Thus, the rebellious young girl bit her lip and reluctantly retreated.

Seeing Jiang Qingfeng stand firm again, Lin Le had already wiped away his tear marks and was standing tall with excitement.

But Qingfeng smiled slightly, signaling him to remain calm, reminding him that according to the rehearsed process, it was not his turn yet.

Then Qingfeng loudly proclaimed, ”Fifth-generation disciple Zheng Duan, since entering the sect, has been hardworking, taking on burdens and offering contributions... completed three hundred and forty-five tasks across various levels... while serving as Foreign Affairs Steward, communicated back and forth, whether facing enemies or allies, he was meticulous and precise in performing diplomatic duties...”

Indeed, Qingfeng directly skipped Lin Le and Wu Yan, starting to introduce the fourth-ranked Zheng Duan.

When the sect was reestablished, Zheng Duan contributed to the founding effort and was directly awarded as Inner Sect Ding Class. Over the subsequent eight years, this gentle, amiable, communicative young man consistently utilized his strengths, diligently performing his duties in the Foreign Affairs Steward position.

Communication between Yunshan Sect and various sects, even Golden Core Major Sects, always involved him, and the rescue brought by Master Cangfeng in the past was nominally his summoned help.

Now, in terms of position, he has been promoted to ”Deputy Foreign Affairs Elder,” and in terms of disciple level, he has been promoted to True Disciple. He has not fallen behind in cultivation either, already reaching the ninth level of Qi Cultivation.

Jiang Qingfeng completed the recital, and the disciples burst into enthusiastic applause, especially the first batch of Yunshan disciples who joined alongside Zheng Duan, cheering loudly.

Of course, their current cheers are somewhat premature, as the fifth and sixth-ranked True Disciples are Fanx Shang and Wuh Zilan, who joined alongside Zheng Duan with similar backgrounds.

At the conclusion of Zheng Duan’s achievement reading, Yang Jiye, among the foremost, eagerly called out, ”Zheng Duan, you have always performed excellently, mature and steady. I intend to accept you as a disciple. Are you willing?”

Though agreed upon in advance and having exchanged privately several times, actually standing in the hall, Zheng Duan was still very excited, loudly responding affirmatively.

Yang Jiye is Elder Yunshan, one of the few people Lu Qian trusts most, serving as Transmission Elder, effectively half the teacher of all Yunshan disciples, he also enjoys high prestige.

Additionally, Yang Jiye has a reputable martial name, something Zheng Duan lacks, and being able to join under Yang Jiye now is simply fantastic.

Then Zheng Duan performed three kneelings and nine kowtows under the guidance of the ceremonial officer, respectfully offering a cup of tea to Yang Jiye.

”Master, please drink tea.”

With this call of ”Master,” Yang Jiye’s face was glowing with energy, exuding vitality. He accepted the Spirit Tea, took a sip, moved his finger, and the Purple Qi Celestial Net danced lightly, drawing Zheng Duan up, observing him with great satisfaction.

”Good, good, henceforth you will be my chief disciple.”

Speaking, he had already passed a Jade Box forward.

”This is a gift from Master for you, quickly take it.”

Under the gaze of many, Zheng Duan couldn’t directly open it. After offering thanks, he stored it in his bosom first, while disciples on both sides looked enviously.

Subsequently, Fifth-ranked Fanx Shang and Sixth-ranked Wuh Zilan also acknowledged their apprenticeship.

They have currently become Taoist companions. Both entered long ago, having been disfavored and overlooked as surname cultivators from the Zhou Family, they are immensely grateful and cherishable to be accepted into Yunshan Sect, thus cultivating diligently and participating actively in tasks.

In addition, Fanx Shang has shown prominent performance in various battles, accruing substantial achievements. Wuh Zilan, on the other hand, has significantly displayed talent in Talisman Making and Painting, once achieved first place in the Talisman Industry competition during Yunshan’s first Competition of the Hundred Arts Skills of Immortal Cultivation, directly promoted a grade.

Hence, both have been promoted to True Disciple status this year.

In terms of cultivation, both are in Late-Stage Qi Cultivation, currently at the eighth level.
