Berserk God of War

Chai Gong heard this and couldn’t help but clutch his chest.

Previously, he had indeed planned to throw Sikong Jing out of prison after dealing with Teng Yue and Ying Sanmeng.

But the prisoners’ hesitation, Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue’s reception of the inheritance, all made Chai Gong lose interest in dealing with Sikong Jing, resulting in the current situation.

And here he was, taken as a hostage.

Who could have thought that Teng Yue would suddenly, without reason, turn the Black Scale Demon into a hostage?

At this moment, Teng Yue coldly said again, ”Stop talking nonsense! This Black Scale Demon has received the powerful inheritance of the demons, so he must be very important to the Cang Lineage, right? Now everyone, back off for me.”

Under Teng Yue’s shouts, almost everyone on the scene looked toward Chai Gong.

His fists clenched, cracking sounds echoed, as he gritted his teeth and asked, ”Didn’t you all previously want to help the Black Scale Demon?”

That was near the barrier, when Teng Yue was persuading the Black Scale Demon not to go out, not to fall into the hands of the Cang Lineage.

In response, Teng Yue just laughed wildly, ”Is the situation the same now as it was then? We are now facing life and death; we don’t care if the Black Scale Demon lives or dies. Now I just need you all... to back off.”

With Teng Yue’s frenzied words, Chai Gong was left completely clueless.

Indeed, in such circumstances, it was unlikely that Teng Yue and Ying Sanmeng would care about the life or death of the Black Scale Demon.

In the end, he could only roar, ”Surround them first, then send a message to the Great Gate Master, I need his instructions.”

He couldn’t help it and had to report the current situation once again.

Thus, led by Chai Gong and the death soldiers, the prisoners and demons surrounded the entire little canyon.

Inside the canyon...

Facing the terrifying aura around them, Ying Sanmeng softly asked, ”Xiao Yue, what’s going on?”

Ying Sanmeng was still confused; he didn’t know why the Black Scale Demon was still in prison, nor did he understand why Teng Yue suddenly took him as a hostage. Wasn’t this demon his junior brother’s disciple?

Is it really okay to resort to such cunning tactics?

In response, Teng Yue simply replied in a low voice, ”Uncle Ying, please focus on breaking through to the Divine Martial Stage second Great Realm first.”

Now he couldn’t explain much, especially with the chaotic situation just now, everyone was watching closely.

He feared saying too much and being overheard by the outsiders.

Ying Sanmeng understood the urgency and priority of the situation.

Now, only by quickly breaking through to the second Great Realm of the Divine Martial Stage could they have the chance to fight their way out and at least ensure their survival.

...

Outside the walls, Chai Jiu’s battle puppet body happened to receive Chai Gong’s report just in time.

It was regarding Ying Sanmeng finishing receiving the inheritance.

Upon reading the report, Chai Jiu’s mood finally relaxed, and he laughed heartily, ”Very good, very good, even though Ying Sanmeng received the first generation Master of Yu Vein’s inheritance, he only obtained a level equivalent to demon privileges.”

Chai Ren, Elder Bu Tun, and other high-level members of the Cang Lineage hurriedly asked for clarification,

After understanding everything, everyone let out a sigh of relief, having only demon privileges wasn’t a big problem.

However, they still did not release their breath completely.

Because the report also mentioned that Teng Yue hadn’t finished receiving the inheritance, there might still be some unexpected changes; Teng Yue’s talent was indeed exceptional.

But soon, the second report arrived; Chai Jiu’s gaze swept over the letter and burst into laughter...

”Just like Ying Sanmeng, Teng Yue only received demon privileges, this makes things easier.”

”We don’t need to kill the two; just capture them alive and force them to contribute all of Yu Vein’s inheritance to us.”

Exactly as Chai Gong had expected...

Having confirmed that it was impossible for Ying Sanmeng to control the Divine Demon Island, Chai Jiu began to change his course of action.

Thus, Chai Jiu sent the order to capture the two alive into the prison.

And the Cang Lineage folks couldn’t help but laugh out loud...

Chai Ren wiped the sweat off his forehead, chuckling, ”It was really dangerous, didn’t think Ying Sanmeng would complete the inheritance, but luck was still on our Cang Lineage’s side.”

A sect leader laughed as well, saying, ”Indeed, perhaps this change isn’t a bad thing but a blessing in disguise.”

Chai Jiu quickly added, ”It’s already a good thing; as long as we capture Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue, our Cang Lineage will grow stronger because of Yu Vein’s inheritance, maybe I can even break through the Divine Martial Stage reaching higher and stronger realms.”

Upon hearing this, everyone’s expression turned excited.

Elder Bu Tun clenched his fists tightly, ”It’s said, back when the Cangyu Demon Sect’s three veins were led by the Pulse Masters who surpassed the Divine Martial Stage, they were renowned throughout Canghai Wujiang; this Yu Vein inheritance surely contains cultivation techniques beyond the Divine Martial Stage.”

The high-level members of the Cang Lineage nodded emphatically.

The Cangyu Demon Sect’s history is too long, beginning with the terrifying change of the first generation.

Many powerful figures died back then, and those who survived and stayed at Cangyu Demon Sect were all very young, so it was a time of major decline, nearly being annihilated.

Later, throughout history, they experienced numerous great changes and disasters, losing many martial arts and cultivation techniques.

Nowadays, Cangyu Sect doesn’t hold much fame in Canghai Wujiang.

The lengthy history turned many facts into legends; apart from knowing their past glory and existence of the three veins, they didn’t know much else.

They only knew the Desert Sea Absolute Array originally belonged to Cangyu Demon Sect, and there seems to have been an even more terrifying presence above the three veins.

They only knew that unlocking the Divine Demon Island could yield vast rewards...

At this moment, Chai Jiu once again smiled triumphantly, ”It seems a legend might be true; during the era of Cangyu Demon Sect, our Cang Lineage was the strongest, and Yu Vein’s inheritance only granted demon privileges, isn’t that laughable?”

Hearing this, everyone immediately stood tall, believing their Cang Lineage was the mightiest.

Just then... Buzz!

A Divine Shuttle Ship broke through space and arrived, just as Chai Jiu’s urgent order had commanded.

The presence of several Holy Martial Peak elders was brought along, and the core figures of Yu Vein were taken as hostages.

At this moment, the elders hastily paid respects to Chai Jiu and asked what had happened?

Feeling very good, Chai Jiu chuckled as he spoke, ”It’s nothing much now, but since the hostages are here, it’s fine; we’ll fiercely pressure Ying Sanmeng and Teng Yue on the Divine Demon Island, make them... Hmm?”

Just as the words were spoken, Chai Jiu received another report from the prison.

Without saying much, he unfolded it and suddenly his face darkened, roaring, ”Chai Gong, you’re utterly useless!”

With his remarks, the surrounding high-level members of the Cang Lineage immediately tensed up again, quickly asking what happened this time?

”Ying Sanmeng directly broke through to the Divine Martial Stage, and is swiftly advancing towards its second Great Realm; although that’s not the worst... the most damnable is that Teng Yue has taken the Black Scale Demon as a hostage.”

”All this while, Chai Gong didn’t even get the Black Scale Demon out first!”

In fact, Chai Jiu also overlooked the Black Scale Demon due to Ying Sanmeng’s conditions; had he been slightly more attentive, he could have issued an order reminding Chai Gong, but he didn’t...

And as a dignified Great Gate Master, he didn’t see fault in himself, just cursing Chai Gong.
