Chapter 6067, True Dao of Space

Author: Silavin

At the same time Su Yan was fretting over how she could look after the children, the four in the room were chatting away while waiting for the food. Though, only two of them were looking forward to it. It had been so long since Yang Ji and Yang Xu ate a meal that they forgot the cravings of a different taste. Still, seeing Yang Ling excited was more than enough to fill their stomachs.

Though, that changed once the door opened and the aroma of delight spread out.

Despite not needing food, the complex aroma that spread out from different dishes had even caused Yang Ji’s stomach to rumble and his mouth to start watering.

“Foods’ here.” Qiu Yi Meng walked in with an array of dishes floating behind her. Naturally, they were all being delicately lifted up using her Divine Sense.

Each child had their own main dish. Furthermore, there were multiple side dishes as well, all for them to try. Even those that the children had not ordered were there. This was, after all, Qiu Yi Meng’s way of doting them.

Only the Heavenly Demon Queen had more than one main dish.

Sniffing the aroma, seeing the delicacy she had ordered finally in front of her face, despite her haughtiness, even the Heavenly Demon Queen showed eyes of unconcealable desire. She could not wait to wolf down everything. The only thing preventing such an uncivilised act was her ‘high station’ in life.

“Woah. Aunt Qiu Yi Meng, there is so much more food now then when Mother was here!” Yang Ling exclaimed with her eyes glittering as she looked at the dishes in front of her.

Qiu Yi Meng chuckled. She could never bring in so much food with Xia Ning Chang around. After all, knowing that such items were a treat to repay for whatever Xia Ning Chang had done for her, she would always be humble and order one item for herself. If Qiu Yi Meng had tried to order more food, Xia Ning Chang would obviously say that she would be full with this one order.

“You are all growing, so you need to eat up.” Qiu Yi Meng said, and then pointed out, “This is made from a Divine Phoenix Duck. It has a trace of Phoenix Bloodline in it. Yang Ji, you should try this. As for Yang Xu, you definitely need to try this Blossoming Flood Dragon Egg.”

Each of these meals would have cost millions of Open Heaven Pills. Yet, here they were, all lined up for the children to eat.

Upon Yang Ji trying his first bite, only then did the Heavenly Demon Queen also take her first bite.

However, the difference in how they ate was vast. Despite her size, the Heavenly Demon Queen still managed to consume her meal far faster than Yang Ji, who was savouring each bite. Even if she tried to be dignified, one would not be able to separate her conduct from that of a starved man finally having their first meal after a month.

This naturally did not go unnoticed by Yang Xu, who was also taking delight in her main dish, the Lava Dragon Fortune Feast bite after bite. “Despite acting all high and mighty, you are eating like a beggar. No one will steal your food.”

Such sharp words naturally embarrassed the Heavenly Demon Queen. Her little face blushed a little, but she still rebuked. “You are the one that’s uncouth. Where I hail from, it is considered the height of courtesy to honor the culinary master’s craft through vigorous and wholehearted appreciation of their creations.”

“Just blabber from a beggar.” Yang Xu rolled her eyes.

“You!” The Heavenly Demon Queen was ready to pounce at that moment, but she was held back by Yang Ji.

“Enough. If both of you keep quarreling, everything would get cold. Do you want to waste this delicious meal?”

Yang Ling added, “Sister Yang Xu, don’t bully her.”

Yang Xu and the Heavenly Demon Queen just gave a snort and returned back to their meal. Still, interestingly, the Heavenly Demon Queen now took smaller bites, trying to restrain herself. While, Yang Xu took bigger bites.

[Ah, kids.] Qiu Yi Meng’s eyes were smiling as she saw this scene play out. In all honesty, she could not really see this mysterious being as anything dangerous. Haughty, certainly; strange, definitely, but dangerous… that she doubted.

If anything, the Heavenly Demon Queen seemed like any other child who just wanted to fit in. Qiu Yi Meng did not know about her background but this was her assessment of her so far. Still, since Su Yan was worried, she thought to give her an update first so she excused herself from the room once more.

Seeing that Auntie Qiu Yi Meng left the room once more, Yang Ling pondered for a moment and asked, “Brother, Sister, where should we go next?”

Yang Ji tilted his head for a bit, wondering where they should go next. However, in all honesty, he doubted that they could go anywhere seeing how their Mother should have been here by now. Due to their last adventure, they certainly would not be allowed to go anywhere far.

That was when the Heavenly Demon Queen said something that could not be taken back. “We may return to seek out your Uncle Eleven at any moment you wish.”

“What are you talking about? We are so far away from the Profound Source Gate. There is no way we would be able to go there without help from Uncle World Tree.” Yang Xu’s eyes narrowed as she said.

Perhaps in a good mood from the meal, or perhaps in a mood to rebuke Yang Xu, the Heavenly Demon Queen, “Why do you presume we need a gate to cross over to the Source Realm?”

“How else can we get there then?” Yang Ji was the one that asked this time.

“When your mastery over the True Dao of Space achieves the requisite level.” The Heavenly Demon Queen added.

“True Dao of Space? How is that any different from the Dao of Space?” Yang Ji asked, bewildered. He was certain he had never heard of this term before except through the Heavenly Demon Queen’s mouth. It was odd how similar this term was to the Dao of Space.

“Your knowledge of the Dao of Space and the Dao of Time is paltry to the True Dao of Space and True Dao of Time. The Dao of Space that you have perceived mastery over is but a small part of the True Dao of Space.” The Heavenly Demon Queen added, “Given the modest extent of your current mastery, you remain confined to traversing solely within the boundaries of your own Realm, the so-called ‘3,000 Worlds’ yet you lack the requisite mastery to venture forth into foreign Realms, needing structures like the Profound Source Gate.”

“So, it’s just another level for us to reach?” Yang Ji gave a nod, quite nonchalant about this news. Yang Xu was less calm, but upon hearing that it was just another cultivation level she just needed to reach, she calmed down.

Yang Ling was probably the only one who lacked the confidence to ever touch upon such a mighty Dao. So, she was the one that started to worry. “How hard is it to get good at the True Dao of Space?”

It had to be said that Yang Ling had not even started exploring the Dao of Space. So, news that there was another thing called the True Dao of Space was a little disheartening for her. After all, she was already working hard to catch up to the Oldest Brother and Sister, but no matter how hard she tried, she could never keep up.

“Like I said, refrain from belittling yourself. Your talent lies not in the True Dao of Space and True Dao of Time but in something far more interesting.” The Heavenly Demon Queen stated, but did not go into the topic any further. After all, she sensed that the Isolation Array was weakening.

As she had predicted, *Crik* the door opened once more. However, this time, Qiu Yi Meng did not return alone. She entered with Su Yan.

“Mother”

“Mother Yan”

The children greeted her. Only the Heavenly Demon Queen remained passive, and gave a nod in greeting.

“En.” Su Yan’s calm and gentle voice spread. “After this meal, we would need to head back. Your Father has returned.”

“Oh? Father is back?” Yang Ji was the first to get excited by this news.

“Yes, over the next few days, we will all be very busy.” Su Yan added, still calm as always. Maybe unintentional on her part, but she was staring at the Heavenly Demon Queen while she said that. “So, finish up your meal and we will leave at once. Also, Sister Qiu Yi Meng, would you like to join us later?”

When Qiu Yi Meng heard that, her heart immediately skipped a beat. She was excited at the thought of spending time with the children and Yang Kai. However, when she thought about how her cultivation realm still had not reached her goals, she shook her head. “It’s fine, Sister Su Yan. I’ll be busy during this period. It’s best for you and the children to enjoy yourself without me.”

Seeing how Qiu Yi Meng had her own plans, Su Yan did not force the issue. “In that case, do tell me when you have the time.”

“Of course.” Qiu Yi Meng gave a nod, and sweetly smiled.

“For now, why don’t you sit down and eat with us? We’ve ordered quite a lot of food. If you’d like, I can order more food.” In gratitude, Qiu Yi Meng said, as she took Su Yan’s hand to the table. She took out a seat from a Space Ring and had her quickly seated.

“It’s fine. I’ll just have some of the side dishes.” Su Yan hurriedly added. It was hard to refuse with Qiu Yi Meng being so excited as the host.

Qiu Yi Meng soon started suggesting the different dishes to Su Yan, explaining their origins and the chief intentions. Such details were not even said to the children, since she did not think that they would care much about it. However, Su Yan, being an adult, and knowing the nature of such ingredients, would certainly see their appeal.

“En, delicious.” Su Yan commented as she took her first bite out of the Divine Phoenix Duck.

Seeing how their own Mother loves to eat this dish, Yang Ji added, “Mother, in the future, why don’t we come here more often?”

Hearing this, Su Yan looked at Qiu Yi Meng, who already agreed to it without her needing to say a word. Seeing that, Su Yan agreed to it despite having reservations.

While all this played out, the Heavenly Demon Queen grew abnormally quiet once more, seemingly alert as she ate her meal.

Since their Father has returned, that means she would eventually have to meet him. Though she might be immature, she was not a fool. Who would allow a mysterious creature, who they do not know the origins of, to be with their children?

Despite this, she also knew that this was a hurdle that she would need to overcome sooner or later since she could not really leave the Twins.

As for Yang Ling, seeing how the conversation about the best cultivation path for her had stopped, she seemed a little downcast. She wanted to ask the Heavenly Demon Queen more about what she had not said.

However, it seemed that the Heavenly Demon Queen had no intention to continue the conversation for now, even with Yang Ling’s cute pleading eyes. So, Yang Ling could only dejectedly continue eating her meal.
