Chapter 6062, How to Appease Wives

Author: Silavin

The saying ‘happy Wife, happy life’ was true. As a married man now, Yang Kai already knew a storm was coming for him. However, he was still a man with great consciousness. He knew that this matter was for him to deal with, and him alone. So, he did not ask the World Tree for anything, just to lead him back home. After all, he did not want any third-parties to get caught in the crossfire.

The World Tree, also a being with great empathy, chose to transfer him over to a location a little further from High Heaven Palace–instead of directly to his Wives. That way, Yang Kai could make any necessary arrangements if need be.

With gratitude in his heart, Yang Kai quickly made way to the shopping districts.

The conundrum he faced now was how to please his Wives so that they would lessen his punishment.

Why only ‘lessen’? Because he had multiple Wives!

Even if he had managed to please one, the others would hold the line!

Pleasing them all was as hard as scaling Mountain Tai. In fact, Yang Kai felt that pleasing them all was harder than his fight against Mo.

He was not like his Father, Yang Ying Feng, who could sometimes get away with it using the ‘oldest trick in the book’. Of course, even for his Father, the back pain the next day could also be counted as a form of punishment.

However, that would be impossible for Yang Kai. Rather than let him ‘sacrifice’ his body, it was more likely he would spend the nights cold and alone. Even his children would most likely not be allowed to accompany their dearest Father.

Regardless, right now, the only thing he could do was to quickly purchase goods to lift their mood, and hope that it would be enough to appease them.

Yang Kai mentally noted down what each one liked. However, even this had issues.

For example, for Pills, Yang Kai was certain that none of his Wives would be satisfied with Pills since Xia Ning Chang would refine them whenever she had time. In fact, rather than an occupation, she would do so even as a hobby.

So, none of his Family members lacked Pills–from beauty Pills to cultivation Pill, they had them all. So, Pills were already out of the question.

Artifacts were certainly an interesting option, as one could never have enough Artifacts. However, what kind of Artifact was also another issue.

To meet these women’s eyes, who already stood at the peak of the 3,000 Worlds, ordinary Artifacts would not do. Certainly, if they were to have some form of sentimental value, that was a different thing entirely. However, Yang Kai’s Wives would certainly know his plan.

[Little Senior Sister, Su Yan, Xue Yue, Yu Ru Meng and Ji Yao are not really concerned with material goods. Shan Qing Luo… would probably prefer something more perverse… Zhu Qing would be happy with something to help further purify her Bloodline. Qu Hua Chang tends to like Artifacts that are beautiful and Tao Ling Wan would prefer more simple looking Artifacts….]

Five out of the nine had already been judged to be really hard to please. Despite this, Yang Kai would still have to try his best. He would also need to pick one item for all nine, since he had to be fair about it.

Creating those Artifacts himself would certainly add some sentimental value to it. However, he was certain that the longer he delayed going back home, the worse the outcome would get. So, a quick trip to the Auction Houses around High Heaven Star City was needed.

However, unbeknownst to Yang Kai, it seemed like this plan of his had already been seen though…

“Palace Mistresses, a mysterious man has entered the High Heaven Auction House. He is wearing a mask and is purposefully hiding his cultivation, as you have expected.” A voice could be heard through a Transmission Token.

Hua Qing Si, the Palace Manager, soon rubbed her forehead and replied. “Understood. Just keep an eye on him and inform me of any purchase he has made.”

Hua Qing Si sighed once more before turning to the women in front of her. The two Palace Mistresses of High Heaven Palace, Yu Ru Meng and Shan Qing Luo.

After the Wives Council meeting, these two had immediately sought for the Palace Manager.

After being married for so long, they naturally knew what Yang Kai would do. However, this time, there was really no escaping the punishment since even their Mother-in-Law was fully on board with it this time.

They knew he would try to appease them, but could mere material goods truly make up for everything?

No! Of course not! Besides their own personal rage, they were now determined to crush the ‘Cuckoo Yang Family’ tradition!

What about training for the Children? They could still do that in High Heaven Palace! There was no need for them to risk their lives like Yang Ji and Yang Xu.

So what if they were not going to be as strong? Would it matter if they were dead? To the Mothers, they did not need their children to hold up the sky! As their Mothers, they would be the ones to hold up the sky for them!

Even if they were gone, they had their Sister-in-Law to hold the fort. What more, the whole backing of High Heaven Palace would be with their Children. Conceit and arrogance was a worry, but they believe that the Children had been taught well enough to not fall into those traps. Besides, could they truly be arrogant when monsters like Yang Ji and Yang Xu were always beside them?

Right now, the Wives Council had already agreed on a direction, and all Wives of the Yang Family had already set out to do their own task. Since this was going to be an entire policy change within the Yang Family, everyone was going to take part, even Yang Xue.

Naturally, they also dragged third-parties into this as well, since they knew better than anyone else that to truly change a tree, the whole earth underneath needed to be changed.

“As expected, Sister Ru Meng, you were right. He actually went to the High Heaven Auction House first.” Shan Qing Luo giggled as she tossed a Space Ring filled with Heaven Opening Pills to Yu Ru Meng.

Yu Ru Meng gladly accepted the Space Ring with a smile after winning the bet, “Thank you, now I have more money to treat Ai’er and Little Mei’er.”

Shan Qing Luo rolled her eyes at the blatant attempt to win over her Daughter’s favour and asked, “We are not supposed to play favourites. You can’t just treat only our Daughters.”

Yu Ru Meng just giggled without replying.

“Anyways, what now? Do you not plan to go after him?” Shan Qing Luo, seeing as Yu Ru Meng was not going to change her decision, just ignored it and moved on to the main topic.

Yu Ru Meng shook her head. “Why should we stop him when he is going to give us gifts? Besides, the Wives Council would uphold whatever had been decided upon. Even Sister Su Yan, Sister Ning Chang and Sister Ling Wan are angry, you know?”

Shan Qing Luo sighed, “Yeah, it is really rare for them to be so angry.”

Hua Qing Si, a little nervous but curious, asked, “Will the Palace Master be okay?”

“Hahaha. It’s not like we are going to eat him. But, I do think that you should spread news about our Husband trying to buy many presents for his Wives and Children.” Shan Qing Luo laughed upon hearing her being so worried.

Yu Ru Meng then quickly added, “Also, make sure he cannot touch the High Heaven Palace Treasury and do enjoy a long vacation after having worked so hard for so long.”

At this point, since the Palace Mistresses had already made the decision, a decision even the Palace Master would not be able to overturn by himself, Hua Qing Si just carried out those orders with a heavy heart. [Sorry Palace Master, but I will not be able to help you…]
