Surviving The Fourth Calamity

”Universal Sky Net” thought it increasingly incredulous: ”Do you remember those civilians protected by the little fairies of Kalinsan?

Although many of the men left later, most of the women stayed behind.

You should know, when the little fairies saw them off, they gave them enough food for three days and some seeds to plant!

Vila is from Hill’s, and when she calculated the food quantity, she used Agleya’s standards, not Toril’s common level!

I remember that the Kalinsanians themselves said that those foods, if used sparingly, could meet 7 days of needs.

Moreover, the little fairies wouldn’t separate calculations for men and women.

For the women, those foods were enough to sustain them for half a month.

They had enough to reach Karin Harbor!

Today’s Karin Harbor isn’t like the past, excessively exploiting women... Amanata isn’t necessarily good, but he is still the Sun God.”

”That’s a load of BS,” the ’Old Age Striking King’ said dismissively, ”Amanata is just a protector of patriarchy. Women are not treated as commodities anymore, but still lack autonomy there.

They’d be crazy to send themselves to become others’ servants there!

To find women from that environment who could survive in the great forest, none are truly useless!

They know what they want.”

”Whatever they want, they use their own hands to fight for. That’s the first step of women’s independence,” ’Cunlü’ also couldn’t help but add, ”They’ve all taken the first step and already torn apart from those empty-headed men, why would they want to revert back to the past?”

Even though Kalinsan women have faced too many years of oppression, many don’t know how to strive for themselves, even if they have the strength of professionals, at least at apprentice level... How many women with such capacity have been taken alongside those fleeing men?

That was an escape amidst rain of fire, a step slower, and it’s over.

If there are love stories bound by life and death in other areas... in Kalinsan, or add Anmur, these places where women are basically seen as property, such beautiful tales wouldn’t occur?

There might be people fighting hard for property, but it’s rare. And... the most precious property in his hands may not be women.

Women who could enter the forest of little fairies mainly relied on themselves.

That moment actually laid the foundation that these girls no longer felt only men could protect them.

Then, in the forest, what visibly controls everything are the little fairies.

One can say these fairies have countless flaws, but one point cannot be denied, apart from the queen and nobles, other little fairies are quite equal.

Including those treated as jesters... Only nobles can play with them, and gender is irrelevant.

And the treatment of female nobles in Kalinsan... Just think of the one who was once a princess, then a consort queen, and finally became the Shaer Elector, Iltmara.

Even with the highest noble identity, Iltmara’s past dream was only to die with the whole world.

She must have thought that sincerely; otherwise, she wouldn’t have become Shaer’s elector so early.

By the way, the second Midnight Elect is from Anmur, also of noble origin.

Among the little fairies of Mil Forest, the most arrogant ones are inevitably the Flower Fairies dominated by women.

The girls from Kalinsan who could reach apprentice level likely aren’t from common backgrounds.

If there really is, it just proves the lady’s talents are very strong; such a person wouldn’t be too foolish.

They are just used to being oppressed but not completely heartless.

Coupled with the influence of the Undead Tribe.

This is enough to guide these girls towards the true path in life... relying on their own hands.

”Can you guys not take the topic so far?” ’Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ said crossly, ”It’s clear Universal Sky Net means those fairies who don’t love interference just provided these people with a safe place, enough food, and many are willing to follow them, isn’t it?

Don’t say only Mil Forest allows those women to live better; in Kalinsan, is there anyone who dares to commit crimes lightly?”

Kalinsan and Anmur have too many nauseating pasts, so a large number of the Undead Tribe wander these two lands... just waiting for someone to err, to punish evil.

If someone really dared to attempt anything, even Amanata wouldn’t be able to intervene.

Unless this Sun God dares to openly admit that harming women is not a crime.

Ha, even with eight hundred guts he’d dare not... Once he dares to speak, all Toril’s goddesses definitely wouldn’t mind banding together to declare him an eternal enemy.

Including those goddesses who least like stirring trouble.

Even with countless reasons to say, the ’Old Age Striking King’ group still did not deny the most critical point... With no life-danger or survival crisis, among the Kalinsanians protected in Mil Forest, many chose to remain beside the little fairies.

Even though these little fairies might occasionally make them lose their way or stumble, they still gratefully stayed in Mil Forest.

Life in Mil Forest can only be described as worry-free, but there is no shortage of work.

Moreover, according to the constant style of the little fairies, these people can only choose the clearing between forests to cultivate land, and cannot easily destroy trees.

It’s truly troublesome.

Forest life sounds beautiful, but in practice, there are countless difficulties.

Everything must be self-sufficient... Even with the presence of the Undead Tribe, which brings caravans to Mil Forest, life is definitely not easy.

Of course, the most important thing is that the Kalinsanians are merely neutral.

Reluctantly neutral... If it weren’t because they couldn’t do much, many of them would be candidates for the Followers of Shaer.

Similar to the faction attributes of the mage descendants in this world.

Then we can address the fundamental question... Can a Little Fairy be more worthy of following than Lansendel’s Chosen?

Why isn’t Josh, who feeds so many people, worthy of a follower?

It’s not like he’s going to fatten these people up and slaughter them!

One point of gratitude wouldn’t make these people so... indifferent.

”I want to go ask Hill.” ’Old Age Striking King’ said seriously after figuring out what the discussion between ’Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ and the others was about, ”There must be some secrets in this world that haven’t been openly shared with us.

But, Hill should know a bit.”

”What about today’s task?” ’Cunlü’ raised their chin, ”We have to go over there!”

”We definitely have to go.” ’Old Age Striking King’ glanced back, ”Why are these people coming down so slowly?

Even if the grass is slippery, it shouldn’t affect their descent from the mountain!”

”Did they start fighting?” ’Hard Wind’ tapped on the tablet in his hand.

’Old Age Striking King’ and ’Cunlü’ exchanged a look, quickly taking out their tablet from the small bag... They chose to ignore the tablet that was vibrating continuously to avoid facing questions from certain acquainted ’sisters’ about the task they accepted and whether they wanted to do it together.

Unexpectedly, they missed out on such a big thing!

Nine out of ten people who didn’t look at the tablet on the Black Rose did so for similar reasons... After squatting among the Proud Sky Alliance for so many years, who doesn’t have a few friends outside the family!

Only ’Hard Wind’ has fewer issues.

After all, in their household, who’s in charge isn’t a problem.

People generally looking for them would directly contact ’Cunlü’.

Over time, ’Hard Wind’ basically had no interaction outside of official duties.

He quite likes this situation himself... For an advertising media person, the least favorite part is socializing even during rest.

Aside from friends like ’Old Age Striking King’, and apprentices he brought into the game, ’Hard Wind’ rarely actively seeks people for communication.

Thus, he was able to discover immediately what happened... When his tablet vibrates, it inevitably indicates a region-wide event to be announced: such as a small battle form in a certain area and uninvolved persons should refrain from visiting to avoid being affected by the system notification.

-----------------

”How did the fight start?” Even from beginning to end, Lansendel still couldn’t comprehend what happened.

Indeed, not many people received the subsidiary task from Shaer, but it wasn’t a small number either!

Most people had resigned themselves to their fate, accepting that they weren’t diligent enough... Planning to strive again tomorrow?

Since everyone had accepted it, why did it still lead to a fight?

Hill took a deep breath.

Fear not of the dumb, nor of the bad, but of those idle stirring up trouble.

Benefitting themselves is enough happiness.

Must they flaunt it.

Those who didn’t receive the task would have flaunted it before them.

Initially, those people were annoyed enough, having to comfort themselves for not paying attention, not noticing where so many people headed, or for losing some cash because they were too lazy to take a few steps despite the Clan Leader’s reminder.

All said and done, it’s their fault.

However, the more one’s mistake, the angrier one becomes when recalling... If they could shift the blame to others, even without gaining benefit themselves, they’d feel more at ease.

It was a pile of explosives and a group of fools ran over with lit fuses to dance.

If not them, who else to beat?

Thus, initially, it was merely a small-scale brawl.

Normally, once these people vent their anger, it should be over.

However, when someone who fears chaos disrupts the waters, the incident escalates instantly.

”That one.” Hill pointed to a neutral-dressed male mage, ”Should be the one who created Night Butterfly’s Zhu Meili.”

Lansendel gasped... Clearly though he hadn’t seen this person, he knew the legend.

”That macho, eh? Or is it a macho woman?” He tilted his head, slightly baffled and glanced again, ”Is he a follower of Amanata?”
