Surviving The Fourth Calamity

At the very least, Hill understands the concept of teaching according to one’s aptitude.

Asking students to study hard is not the same as asking them to learn something they have no interest in.

Therefore, if Josh really wants Russell to lend a hand already at this early stage... Initially, they agreed to help each other during construction.

Construction work is troublesome to speak of, but as long as there are detailed, accurate blueprints and a reliable construction team, it’s not too tiring for the builders.

Russell and Josh discuss various array models... The true core energy array of the Dawn Tower is depicted by some core drawing inherent in the Dawn Stone.

Other arrays are basically general ones depending on what functionalities the builder of the Dawn Tower wants.

Even if there’s some slight improvement, it’s no secret.

As Elects of the Dawn who love young people, they’re very willing to teach these hardworking children their special skills.

Of course, learning these arrays is not something you can do without real skill; understanding them requires genuine ability.

After all, among Lansendel’s followers, the majority are artists and sports enthusiasts who have unique perspectives on improving these arrays.

Even though the skill in drawing magic arrays can greatly train a person, learning it is mostly of little use... For Sorcerers of Toril, it’s considered somewhat of a time-waste.

But Russell doesn’t need to worry about these issues.

He only needs to think about whether he wants to go further in the field of magic arrays, without worrying about complex relationships like time and money.

To Russell, it doesn’t matter if he later can’t use these arrays.

Because of Hill’s teaching method, he respects knowledge itself... Not only can he learn new knowledge, but he can also use others’ materials to hone his magic skills, which is a great opportunity.

Hill tilted his head, carefully recalling his education of Russell... He confirmed that Russell wouldn’t look down on the practical-based approach because of his own academic style, which relaxed him a bit.

What he actually worried about was this... Turning a child that grew up in a practical environment into an ivory tower fool.

That was originally Russell’s advantage that impressed Hill: using all his willpower to develop the most suitable magic array for himself in the toughest environment.

Russell is someone who understands how to find a way in the swamp.

Although Hill has trained him to the extent he can fly in the sky, he absolutely doesn’t want him to forget how to find a foothold when landing in the swamp and worse, start looking down on those who tread cautiously through the mud, thinking they’re ’ignorant of the sky’s spectacle!’

Hill looked down at Russell, who was found by Josh and after some contemplation nodded in agreement, and he smiled slightly.

Raising a child, ah, what a difficult thing!

With so many crossroads ahead, who can ensure that this child won’t choose the wrong path?

Even with Russell, such a sensible and obedient child, Hill always has to reflect.

Fortunately, Agleya and Alice don’t bring him such worries.

Even with Alice being somewhat extreme in character, prone to causing trouble, she’s actually mature in nature.

Sometimes, it’s not about fearing a child’s mischievousness, but rather not knowing what kind of trouble she’ll cause.

Alice, who often gets into others’ misfortunes more than her own, can be worrisome, but as long as you frequently check in, it’s fine.

With the Undead Tribe around, Hill just needs to have List remember to collect information from over there and notify him immediately if anything goes amiss.

Moreover, Alice is actually well-suited to surviving in this self-centered fantasy world.

Her mishaps, brought to Toril, are nothing... At the very least, his cat would consider Hill’s feelings before causing trouble.

Small mistakes happen constantly, small troubles never end, but, well, that’s just how it is.

Occasionally, List mentions that Miss Alice inadvertently wandered into places she shouldn’t, provoking someone or another, resulting in a brawl, before both sides reconciled due to someone’s persuasion.

In these incidents, Alice was not the one fighting.

It was a leopard.

According to the Undead Tribe, Merkel now even returns to Teraxil capable of pressing down and beating the Elven God King.

Thus, even though where Alice is located might seem unbelievably chaotic, for her, it’s actually the safest place.

The people there won’t refuse to drink with you today just because you fought yesterday.

As for Agleya.

Does Agleya need to worry?

All she needs is concern.

Hill only refrained from sending gifts and messages to Agleya during the self-imposed isolation period in this world.

Her temple right next to Hill’s Domain is almost connected to the Water Elemental Realm.

Hill only needs to use the Water Elemental Lord he made a contract with to directly send gifts through the Water Elemental Realm to the big shell located at the center of that temple.

Of course, Agleya’s top concern is whether she’s Hill’s favorite child.

If she discovers that there are newcomers appearing around Hill, she will immediately focus her spirit.

However, during the Toril journey, besides Terry and Purwell joining Hill, she didn’t really mind.

However, Russell.

Hill suspects Agleya will find a way to observe him for a while.

But how could a daughter and a student be the same thing!

She’ll see clearly in the end.

As for other things... What flaws does Agleya have?

Hill has always been confident — his Agleya is flawless.

Even such a small hint of jealousy is extremely adorable.

”Hill, what are you thinking?” Lansendel curiously leaned over, ”You have a very relaxed smile.”

”Your adjective is overly rich.” Hill put away his smile, helplessly shaking his head, ”You know the young master is going to get beaten up later, right?

Once he leaves the Magic Tower, someone will definitely hit him.

Why do you have to learn these boring slang from him?”

”But there’s no one who can beat me.” Lansendel replied frankly, ”Anyone who can fight me won’t be swayed by the way I speak.

Haha~ He can withstand Celene, what’s the point of my words?

At least I’m just boring and shameless, while over there is directly committing a crime.

So, you still haven’t said, what were you laughing about?”

”I was thinking about my Agleya.” Hill smiled... Although he also thinks about Alice, he decided not to mention her much in Lansendel’s presence.

At least until now, the relationship between Alice and Lansendel was only due to Hill, greeting each other when they met, not enemies, possibly lending a hand if the other encountered trouble, but not close enough to be real allies.

That’s fine.

Alice is a wonderful daughter, Lansendel a competent friend, but Hill definitely doesn’t want the two of them to get too close.

Lansendel felt a bit puzzled... He truly couldn’t understand why Hill thought of Agleya by associating with Josh.

He remembered the girl.

Though he always favored his own followers, he didn’t have the confidence to think Josh could have anything in common with the sea goddess.

Of course, Lansendel knew he might have some bias toward Agleya... But any Toril deity would feel some longing toward such a sea goddess.

They haven’t been without contact with sea gods from other worlds, right?

Sometimes the kind they encountered made them comfort each other on their way back, like Ambori wasn’t so bad.

Though rash and fierce, slowly matured brain not always present, at least he won’t hand over his interests!

Even the eccentric existence like the Goddess of the Spring seemed worth a look, illuminated by those resplendent ocean deities!

At least she won’t reveal her vulnerabilities to outsiders.

No, even her own father probably doesn’t know.

Truly, there are all sorts of wonders in the universe, even our own incomplete ones...

Lansendel shook his head fiercely, tossing out those terrifying memories.

Then he remembered once again the beloved Agleya of the Toril Gods.

The ocean is pure and beautiful, yet charming and dangerous... This sentence finally doesn’t sound like a joke.

Agleya could so effortlessly possess her name and territory in Toril, without anyone decreeing her as an exiled Exterior God, not just because this girl lacked expansion ambitions, only to accompany her kin.

Of course, Hill’s existence as the World Tree’s child also made some deities related to natural law choose to watch coldly.

The Goddess of the Spring is constantly beaten, not just because of her terrifying attributes as the Goddess of Peace.

She is part of the Natural Divine System, no, should say Forest Divine System, wanting to intervene with the Water Deity as a mediator.

Sometimes the incredibly puzzling deities appearing in Toril actually have some other reasons behind them.

Even if the Toril sea goddess is incompetent, forest divine systems as exterior gods trying to do something would naturally face resistance.

Hence, the oddity of the Goddess of the Spring was decided from the day of her birth... Many deities had a hand in it.

Yet the emergence of Agleya made several parties acting discreetly a bit embarrassed, unsure for a moment how to treat this passerby deity.

Claiming to be the Nature God System’s Father of the Forest, no way would he take the initiative against Agleya, called daughter of the World Tree, regarded as offspring by the Father of Elves.

Meanwhile, Toril here had always insisted Ambori had a reason to exist... Upon discovering Agleya’s attributes, several were somewhat confused.

Comparing Ambori and Agleya on a set of scales would insult Agleya.

Of course, they didn’t entirely refrain from action.

Originally abandoned Valkin, and even Ambori himself, why did they all seek out Agleya at the critical moment, not without external factors?

Yet ultimately, there was only one Ambori who suddenly turned from wrong to right.
