The City’s Strongest Son-in-law

Chapter 1030: Chapter 1029: Let Me Manage the Ye Family

”Young master, what do you mean by this?” Cheng Shi stammered as he asked. He was genuinely worried that Su Changfeng had now set a trap for him, just waiting for him to fall into it.

”Don’t worry, I’ve arranged for you to return to Beijing for a reason. After all, the business over there in Beijing is not worth mentioning in my eyes. If it weren’t for some urgent matters requiring my return, I wouldn’t even want to go back to Beijing. But without a shrewd person managing the business in Beijing, no matter how big the inheritance, there will eventually come a day of bankruptcy. I don’t want anyone to criticize the Ye Family for poor management, which is why I’m sending you back to Beijing,” Su Changfeng explained. This indeed was Su Changfeng’s plan, not an intention to set up Cheng Shi, considering someone like Cheng Shi, a small fry, he wouldn’t bother using such tactics.

Regarding the Ye Family from Beijing, even though Su Changfeng grew up there, he left without any fond memories and didn’t feel any nostalgia for it. Whenever he recalled Beijing, all he remembered was the pain. But since it was the place where the Ye Family began its legacy and has numerous industries, as a descendant of the Ye Family, he couldn’t allow others to speak ill of it.

Moreover, many in Beijing were aware that Ye Qingtian was still alive. If the Ye Family’s influence in Beijing were to be affected, it would certainly impact Ye Qingtian’s reputation, which was not something Su Changfeng wanted to see.

”But young master, the old master is still quite healthy. He should be able to return to Beijing and take charge,” Cheng Shi asked somewhat puzzled. In his understanding, even if Ye Qingtian wanted to retire, there was still Xiangxiang. How could the Ye Family’s business in Beijing allow someone not bearing the surname Ye to manage it?

”Now, Jiang City is our new home. Grandfather will live here, so he won’t return. Moreover, my mother detests Beijing and naturally doesn’t want to go back,” Su Changfeng said, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

He now wanted to stay in Jiang City, feeling it was his home. Surely, his grandfather and mother longed to live together with him, so they would remain in Jiang City, even as they watched the Ye Family in Beijing gradually decline, without batting an eye.

Cheng Shi looked at Su Changfeng seriously and realized his words made sense, not seeming like a setup. Reflecting on the vast Ye Family estates, his heart began to race.

After all, he had never considered handling such a significant issue before. That meant taking control of all the Ye Family’s businesses, even if officially he worked for the Ye Family, ultimately the decision was his, which meant his future status in Beijing would be unmatched.

”But young master, if I leave for Beijing, who will manage Wenshui Real Estate?” Cheng Shi pondered aloud.

”Previously, before I arrived, I hadn’t decided who might take over Weishui Real Estate. But after today’s banquet, I happened to meet someone, which led me to decide to send you to Beijing and have that person take over Weishui Real Estate. Although he had been quite discourteous to me before, causing trouble everywhere, I have to admit he has some skills,” Su Changfeng said with a smile.

A clever man, Cheng Shi’s thoughts raced at Su Changfeng’s words, searching for clues about someone who had previously caused trouble and opposed the young master but showed some prowess.

Suddenly, an image popped into Cheng Shi’s mind, and he felt incredulous.

”Young master, could the person you’re referring to be Song Yang?” Cheng Shi asked, shocked. After all, Song Yang had been fired by Weishui Real Estate for offending Su Changfeng. Because of this, no company in Jiang City had dared to employ him, rendering him a jobless wanderer. But now, Su Changfeng was willing to let him return to Weishui Real Estate; how could he not be surprised?

”You have a quick mind, correct guess, the person I mentioned is indeed Song Yang,” Su Changfeng praised. Despite having no good impression of Song Yang, a big shot like him wouldn’t bicker with someone like Song Yang. Besides, Song Yang did possess some business acumen, making him a suitable replacement for Cheng Shi.

Upon hearing this, Cheng Shi gave a wry smile and asked, ”Young master, does Song Yang know about this?”

”I haven’t told him yet,” Su Changfeng replied casually.

”Haha, when he finds out he’s taking over Weishui Real Estate, I bet he won’t be able to sleep for days,” Cheng Shi laughed. This was an opportunity; Song Yang, currently unemployed, would suddenly become a figure of prominence in Jiang City because of Su Changfeng’s decision, a distinction sure to elate him.

”Will you also be losing sleep?” Su Changfeng asked with a grin.

Cheng Shi paused then realized, even if Song Yang assumed control of Weishui Real Estate, the difference was vast compared to him, as he would be taking over Beijing with all of the Ye Family’s assets, Ye Qingtian’s years of careful management, incomparable to Weishui Real Estate.

”I think I’ll have a harder time sleeping than Song Yang. Young master, rest assured, since you trust me this much, I’ll dedicate myself fully to managing the Ye Family’s affairs, living up to your trust,” Cheng Shi said respectfully to Su Changfeng.

After taking care of everything, Su Changfeng drove back to the villa.

Upon returning home, Shen Zhenhua shared his arrangements with Su Changfeng, and regarding Song Yang’s appointment at Weishui Real Estate, he had no objections.

Previously anxious and nervous, Shen Zhenhua relaxed upon seeing Su Changfeng was not displeased.

”Chang Feng, thanks a lot today!” Shen Zhenhua said with a smile. Initially, when Su Changfeng first joined the Ye Family, Shen Zhenhua thought little of him, inherently looking down on him, though he wasn’t as overtly troublesome as Sun Mei. Nonetheless, he was indifferent towards Su Changfeng. But now, being Su Changfeng’s father-in-law, his status had risen considerably, making Shen Zhenhua feel somewhat apologetic.

Today, the Shen Family’s development was thanks to Su Changfeng. Shen Zhenhua, unlike Sun Mei, was not unreasonable, nor did he share her shamelessness, thinking Su Changfeng owes them. Even if Su Changfeng was his son-in-law, Shen Zhenhua had no arrogance, knowing if Su Changfeng wished, he could give everything to someone else.
