The City’s Strongest Son-in-law

Capítulo 1021: Chapter 1020: The Old Man Throwing His Weight Around

On the other side, Han Xue and Su Changfeng were at the hospital.

Han Xue was anxiously trying to book a specialist’s appointment for Su Changfeng, but an old man directly cut in front of her, standing right before her. Normally, Han Xue wouldn’t care much, but today was different. She was very worried about Su Changfeng and wanted the hospital to check on him as soon as possible, so she pulled the old man.

“Sir, everyone is waiting. Please queue up properly,” Han Xue said sternly to the old man.

The old man glared at Han Xue with an unhappy expression and said, “Can’t you see I’m old and not as healthy as you young people? Let me go in early to see the doctor; it won’t hurt you to wait a bit longer.”

If it were any other time, Han Xue indeed would probably let it go, not wanting to stoop to this person’s level, as getting angry serves no purpose.

In today’s society, people who flaunt their age, acting as if being older grants them special privileges, are certainly not rare, demonstrating an attitude that youth must give way to age.

“Respecting and caring for the elderly is our virtue, and I’m naturally willing, but it depends on the person. For someone like you, frankly, I don’t think I need to,” Han Xue said coolly to the old man.

Upon hearing Han Xue’s words, the old man’s face turned quite ugly as he pointed at Han Xue, cursing, “Whose girl are you, daring to talk to me like this? Do you even know what my sons do? If I were to tell you, I fear you’d be scared to death.”

“Haha, even if I don’t know what your sons do, with just one word from me, your sons wouldn’t be able to continue in Jiang City,” Han Xue replied coldly.

Beside Han Xue, Su Changfeng watched the scene with interest, knowing full well that Han Xue never liked fussing over small matters, let alone with an old person. Despite her high status in Jiang City now, she remained courteous.

Although he grew up in the Shen Family’s large household, he wasn’t nurtured in luxury and thus his temper remained mild, feeling no sense of superiority, considering himself no different from others.

However, this does not mean Han Xue is easy to bully; she has her principles. The reason she’s arguing with an old man now is entirely because of him, which Su Changfeng finds amusing.

“Really shameless, dare to speak such words,” The old man sneered at Han Xue, seeming to treat her words as mere boasting, believing she couldn’t represent anything substantial in front of him.

“You dare to speak like this. Do you know what day it is today? It’s the day of Su Changfeng’s precious daughter’s banquet. Many high-ranking officials in Jiang City want to attend; only those who enter are true dragons among men. My son is among them! What makes you think you could compete with my son?”

As the old man said this, Su Changfeng almost burst into laughter, finding it hilarious that the old man had no idea that he himself was right there, and Han Xue, the mother of Sunian, was speaking to him, while he continued bragging about his son attending the banquet.

“Is that so? Has your precious son mentioned to you who Han Xue is?” Han Xue asked lightly, raising her eyes.

The old man, feeling belittled by Han Xue, gave her a dismissive glance, thinking he knew very well who Han Xue was.

“Even though I’m old now, my brain can still remember some things. Han Xue is the wife of Su Changfeng, Sunian’s biological mother. Who in this vast Jiang City doesn’t know?” The old man replied with a displeased expression.

“Seems like you’re not exactly confused, you know quite a lot. By the way, I forgot to tell you: I am Han Xue.” Han Xue said calmly.

Upon hearing this, the old man looked Han Xue up and down with furrowed brows.

Is this young woman really Su Changfeng’s wife, Han Xue? Surely, she’s joking with me!

If he wasn’t mistaken, today was Sunian’s hundred-day banquet. At this moment, they should be at the Hilton Hotel entertaining guests, so why would they come to the hospital?

So instinctively, the old man felt that the woman in front of him was exploiting Han Xue’s name to fake authority, and wasn’t truly Han Xue.

“You’re a young girl, looking quite pretty. Why speak such big words, it’s truly embarrassing. How could someone like you catch Su Changfeng’s eye? Why don’t you have some self-awareness!” The old man sneered.

After he spoke, he glanced at the injured Su Changfeng, noting that the two of them seemed like a pair, and couldn’t help but laugh, pointing at Su Changfeng. “If you really are Han Xue, then the one beside you must be Su Changfeng.”

Su Changfeng nodded slightly and said indifferently, “Old guy, what you said earlier isn’t false. She truly is Han Xue, and I am indeed Su Changfeng.”

Upon hearing Su Changfeng’s statement, the old man laughed so hard he nearly bent over, believing the pair in front of him were out of their minds, pretending to be Su Changfeng and Han Xue. If discovered, surely they wouldn’t be able to protect themselves.

“You two really can brag, claiming to be Su Changfeng and Han Xue. Have some perspective on your own worth before bothering me endlessly— I need to book an appointment to see a doctor.” The old man said dismissively, then directly pushed Han Xue aside.

Though the old man was over eighty, he was surprisingly strong. Only when feeling weak and frail might they offer seats or behave differently in other circumstances. Seeing them dance in squares or participate in supermarket activities, their strength is quite substantial.

After being pushed, Han Xue made Su Changfeng a bit upset. Despite being generally amiable and not wanting to argue with an old person, the old man’s shameless flaunting of age and blatant disregard for public order couldn’t be excused by age alone.

Just as Su Changfeng was about to speak, a group arrived at the hospital, including a man who was irritated by the situation, knowing many leaders were visiting the hospital for inspections today. If witnessed by leaders, it would definitely leave a bad impression.

The middle-aged man was about to reprimand Su Changfeng and Han Xue when he noticed the leader’s expression had changed, losing its previous composure.

This middle-aged man pondered if the leader was very dissatisfied.
