My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

”Xiao Hao, this office of yours is amazing. The desk, chairs, and cabinets are all mahogany, and this is a real leather sofa. All of this together must have cost a few million, at least,” Chu Feng said, a bit surprised as he looked around.

”You’ve got some nerve saying that. I originally had you in mind for this office; I had it prepared for you a long time ago. But you kept putting it off, and then Xiao Hao happened to arrive, so I gave it to him,” Gao Feng said.

It was clear that Gao Feng held Chu Feng in very high regard, treating him like a true benefactor.

Without Chu Feng, he wouldn’t be where he was today.

So, even though this office cost millions and was even more lavish than his own, Gao Feng hadn’t said a word of complaint. He was more than happy to do it.

”This office is too big, and I don’t even know what I’m supposed to be doing right now. It feels like there’s nothing for me to do,” Chu Hao said.

”Xiao Hao, don’t you worry. Once you get familiar with everything, what’s yours will be yours. You can rest assured,” Gao Feng said with a smile.

”Brother Feng, I understand. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of things quickly,” Chu Hao said with a nod.

”Alright, it’s about that time. Let’s go get something to eat. I’ll make the arrangements,” Gao Feng said.

”Forget it, don’t go through all that trouble. We can just eat in your cafeteria. The food there should be decent, right?” Chu Feng said.

”The food’s definitely decent, but I can’t guarantee it’ll suit your taste. After all the gourmet food you’ve been eating, your palate has probably gotten picky,” Gao Feng said with a laugh.

”Get outta here. Am I that kind of person? Do you think a few good meals would make me forget the hard times? It’s settled, we’re eating in your cafeteria. But listen, no matter how you run your company, you have to get the cafeteria right. Food is the number one priority for people. Everyone’s out here working hard to make a living; you can’t let them down when it comes to food,” Chu Feng advised.

In reality, for many blue-collar workers, unsatisfactory wages were one thing, but dissatisfaction with the factory food was an even bigger issue. If the food were just a bit better, many would probably be willing to stick with the job.

”You can rest assured on that front. I’m not so unscrupulous as to cut costs in the cafeteria. Everyone who works here gets three meals a day, and every meal has three meat dishes, one vegetable dish, and a soup,” Gao Feng said, patting his chest.

”So you’ve contracted out the cafeteria? You didn’t hire a relative to run it, did you?” Chu Feng asked.

”Yeah, it’s contracted out to a professional team. It makes management easier. Plus, we conduct random inspections of the ingredients every week. If we find any problems, we call for an immediate meeting,” Gao Feng said.

After they all left the office, it was quitting time, and many employees were heading toward the cafeteria together.

They all seemed to be chatting and laughing.

”I wonder what we’re having today. The braised pork belly and the garlic spare ribs from last night were so good.”

”Yeah, but no matter what it is, it’s always three meat dishes and one vegetable. It can’t be bad.”

Along the way, Chu Feng overheard some employees discussing the cafeteria food. From the sound of it, everyone was very satisfied.

Although more than a thousand people worked at the factory, they went to eat in shifts. Otherwise, even two or three cafeterias wouldn’t be enough for so many people.

Each shift still had several hundred people.

When they arrived at the cafeteria, Chu Feng took a look at the food. It was indeed excellent—not only abundant but also looked, smelled, and tasted great. Everyone was eating happily.

Gao Feng then led Chu Feng and the others to a small private room reserved for senior management.

The food served here was the same as what the regular employees ate, but it tasted genuinely good, earning repeated praise from both Chu Feng and Su Miaoke.

”Feng, you’ve done a great job with this cafeteria. Keep it up. Don’t let it go downhill after a while,” Chu Feng said with a smile.

”Hey, you can rest easy about that. We both know what it’s like from our university days. Some people might think the salary is a little low, but I can guarantee that when it comes to the food, everyone is one hundred percent satisfied!” Gao Feng said with a laugh.

After eating and drinking their fill, Chu Feng and Su Miaoke left Gao Feng’s factory, feeling reassured.

”Honey, do you need to go back to the company? If not, should we just head straight over there?” Chu Feng asked Su Miaoke after they got in the car.

”No, I don’t. Let’s hurry back. You can refine your medicine, and I’ll practice my swordplay,” Su Miaoke said.

”Alright,” Chu Feng chuckled, then drove straight toward his own warehouse where he stored his medicinal herbs.

When they returned to the warehouse, Wu Yongzhi, who was at the gate, saw Chu Feng’s car approaching and quickly saluted.

”President Chu, President Su!” Wu Yongzhi shouted, his voice loud and clear.

”Mm, how have things been the last few days?” Chu Feng asked.

”Reporting to President Chu, all is normal!” Wu Yongzhi replied, his voice booming.

”Good. Thanks for your hard work.” Chu Feng nodded, then drove the car inside.

It made sense. Few people ever came to an industrial park like this unless they worked there.

Besides, it was all just a bunch of scrap medicinal herbs. No one would dare steal them because they weren’t worth much, unless they managed to haul everything away.

But if they tried to haul it all away, Wu Yongzhi and his two colleagues weren’t just going to stand by and watch; they would definitely notice.

So, no one would risk getting caught to do something like that.

Back at the warehouse, Chu Feng began refining medicine. After all, he had used up a good amount of the Foundation Establishment Liquid over the past few days, and he could use some himself.

Chu Feng refined medicine while Su Miaoke focused on her cultivation, practicing her swordplay alone.

Aside from cultivation, the two of them didn’t really have anything else to do now.

They had no worries about money, and their company was being managed by others.

Just as Chu Feng finished refining his medicine and stepped out, he suddenly received a phone call.

”Big Bro, where are you?” A familiar voice came from the other end of the line.

It was Zhao Quan!

”Zhao Quan, hey. I’m out right now. What’s up? Is something wrong?” Chu Feng asked with a smile.

Chu Feng had a good impression of Zhao Quan. He was a decent young man, loyal to his friends, and very respectful toward him.

”Big Bro, I’m being bullied. Are you going to help me or not?” Zhao Quan said, his voice laced with bitterness.

”Huh? You’re being bullied? In all of Beihai, who would dare to bully you?” Chu Feng frowned, finding the whole thing a bit ridiculous.

The Zhao Family was a major power in Beihai. Who would dare to provoke Zhao Quan unless they had a death wish?

”I can’t explain it clearly in just a few words. Big Bro, where are you? I’ll come pick you up, and we can talk in person,” Zhao Quan said, clearly sounding anxious.

”Alright, fine. I’ll send you an address. Come on over,” Chu Feng said before hanging up.

”Honey, what’s wrong?” Su Miaoke, who had been practicing her swordplay nearby, stopped and asked.
