The Incubus System

Chapter 724: Gratitude

The Incubus System Chapter 714. Gratitude

”What do you want to do next, Your Highness?” Yuffy asked as the room fell silent following Liliethʼs disappearance. I could sense the worry in her voice.

”Thereʼs nothing else we can do but look for those bastards,” I replied with a touch of annoyance. Zatan and Beel had caused enough trouble already. Now, it seemed they would finally be dormant for some time. But...

My gaze shifted to Lord Damon, who was lying still on the bed. Due to his condition, I didnʼt think Syntyche and Nefaris could go to the human world anytime soon. I needed them to help Lilieth.

A heavy sigh escaped my lips, a mixture of weariness and concern, as I leaned back in my seat and closed my eyes, using my telepathy.

ʼSyntyche, can you hear me?ʼ I telepathically transmitted, my mind projecting the message with urgency and hope.

Syntycheʼs voice echoed in my mind, a delightful mixture of surprise and joy permeating her words. ʼDamian, youʼre back!ʼ

A smile blossomed on my lips, mirroring the elation I felt at hearing her voice again. ʼYes,ʼ I replied, my voice laced with a sense of calmness. ʼYouʼre in Licheri, right?ʼ I sought confirmation.

ʼYes, I am,ʼ she affirmed, her tone tinged with urgency. ʼThe king has collapsed, and Nefaris believes that Beel and Zatan might exploit this opportunity to attack your city and capital. And I agree with her.ʼ

A momentary silence settled between us as we both processed the dire implications. However, Syntycheʼs voice broke the silence once more, this time tinged with curiosity. ʼWait a second... The crack has closed. Wasnʼt it you who closed it? Why arenʼt you collapsing like the king?ʼ she asked in confusion.

ʼSimply put, I discovered that I can replenish my power through s*x.ʼ I braced myself for her reaction.

ʼW-What?!ʼ Her voice trembled with astonishment as if trying to grasp the concept. ʼBut how can you do that when it doesnʼt work on Lilieth?ʼ Again, her confusion was too clear in her voice.

I let out a small chuckle. ʼI donʼt know for certain. Perhaps itʼs something to do with my bloodline or some other unknown factor.ʼ My explanation was meager, but it was the best I could offer. ʼBut for now, we must set that aside. We donʼt have the luxury to delve into such matters.ʼ

ʼYouʼre right…ʼ she answered.

ʼHow about your own city?ʼ I inquired, my concern shifting towards Syntycheʼs domain. It was entirely plausible that Zatan and Beel had redirected their nefarious intentions towards her city, rather than my own and the capital.

A pause followed as if she was carefully calculating her response. ʼMy subordinates are protecting it,ʼ she assured me, her voice resonating with confidence. ʼBut donʼt stress. The spot where they found signs of a fight between Zatan and Beel is way out of my city. Thereʼs a pretty low chance theyʼll hide out there.ʼ

Syntycheʼs strategic mind was at work. ʼIʼve already dispatched my Spyder to monitor the area closely. They will notify me the instant they have those two troublemakers within their sights. In addition, Iʼve sent them to search for any leads on their whereabouts... But so far, they got nothing,ʼ she concluded, providing me with a comprehensive report of her efforts.

ʼThank you, Syntyche, for all your help,ʼ I expressed my gratitude.

ʼDonʼt mention it, Damian,ʼ she responded warmly. ʼWe are partners and lovers. Itʼs what partners do,ʼ she added, emphasizing the mutual reliance that had developed between us.

ʼIʼll see you once my business in the capital is concluded,ʼ I stated.

A playful tone tinged Syntycheʼs voice as she retorted, ʼIs that some kind of payment for me?ʼ Her teasing never failed to bring a smile to my lips, and I couldnʼt resist playing along.

ʼOf course not,ʼ I replied, matching her playful tone. ʼI just wanted to make sure you didnʼt forget about me. Besides, donʼt you miss me?ʼ

A mock exasperation colored her voice. She sighed, ʼUgh... Youʼre seriously skilled at playing with words.ʼ

I chuckled softly, savoring the banter. ʼJust wait for me, okay?ʼ I implored, a note of earnestness seeping into my words.

With a final exchange, I disconnected the telepathic link, bringing myself back to the present moment. Opening my eyes, I turned my attention to the room around me. ”Yuffy, Luna,” I addressed my servants. ”Assist Lilieth in taking care of the capital in the kingʼs absence,” I instructed.

”We understand, Your Highness,” they responded in unison.

Swiftly, they left the room, leaving me alone. Once the door closed, I approached the bed. My gaze fixated on his body which was weary from the tiredness he had endured. Standing by his side, I reached out, my hands gently resting on the blanket that covered him. I gazed upon his worn visage.

”You have worked hard, Dad,” I whispered, my voice barely above a murmur

Then without further ado, I used my teleportation skill.
