My Youth Began With Him

Han Yueyao didn’t speak. She just picked up a cotton pad to remove her make-up.

“You don’t want to tell me? I’ll go and get the surveillance video.”

“Don’t. I don’t want people to say I’m hyping myself.”

Han Yueyao stopped him.

“Then tell me who did it.”

Han Yueyao didn’t speak…

“Han Yueyao, you must understand that I’m not asking due to my concern for you. I’m concerned if we can go to the next round. After all, we are partners and our fates are tied together. You were selfish that you didn’t tell me about your injury which led to the mistake. Do you know we’ll very probably be eliminated?”

“I’m sorry,” Han Yueyao apologized with her head lowered.

“I don’t want your apology. I want to know who did it, okay?” Yuan Bo persisted.

“Ding Lan. In the washroom, she slipped and fell on me.” Han Yueyao told him the whole process calmly.

Without a word, Yuan Bo went out of the room with a slam.

Han Yueyao sat in her chair with complicated feelings inside.

“The show business is indeed dirty. It’s only the beginning…” She murmured to herself.

In fact, she wasn’t worried that she’d be targeted but rather if she’d also lose her mind one day and become a woman like Ding Lan who set traps for others.

Ding Lan was partnered with another male star and they were still waiting for their turn.

In the lounge room, they sipped tea and watched the performances of the contestants before them.

When Yuan Bo entered, Ding Lan was chatting and laughing with her partner.

Seeing Yuan Bo, she froze for a moment and said with a smile, “You danced well, Bo.”

“Come out.”

Yuan Bo tried to make his voice sound calm.

“You want to speak with me?” Ding Lan stood up with a smile.

They were WeChat friends for a long time but didn’t have dealings with each other.

Ding Lan liked to move among rich men and directors and didn’t like to have interactions with male stars.

Yuan Bo liked to sleep with new actresses, so they didn’t cross paths much.

Ding Lan went with Yuan Bo to a quiet corner.

“What’s up?” Ding Lan lowered her head and played with her manicured nails.

“Did you injure Han Yuanyao?”

“I told her it was an accident. I fell and got injured, too…”

Ding Lan pulled up her sleeve to show Yuan Bo the bruise below her elbow.

“Don’t play innocent with me. Other people might believe you, but I don’t… You were afraid Han Yueyao would be a threat to you, right?”

“Hehe. Are you kidding? She’s a newbie; how can I feel threatened by her? Bo, you’ve been in the business for a long while, so stop being so naïve, okay?”

Yuan Bo sneered. “Han Yueyao is indeed a newbie, but she has good connections. Everyone knows Su Yu’s her patron. I warn you, don’t be so smug. You might lose more than you get. Besides, you hurt me by hurting her. If we get eliminated, Ding Lan, I’ll deal with you.”

“I’m just curious. She’s not your girlfriend; why are you so anxious about her? Not to mention it’s just an ankle sprain; even if she broke her leg, the show will find you a new partner. So you’ll not be affected. Mind your own business, young man.”

“Han Yueyao’s business is my business. Don’t pull the bullshit with me. Just wait and see.”

Tossing the threat at her, Yuan Bo turned and left.

Ding Lan rolled her eyes at Yuan Bo’s back. “Do you damned think I’d be scared by you? Boy, think again if you think you can mess with me.”

The live show ended finally. Han Yueyao had stayed in the backstage despite her wound; she just didn’t want to go to the hospital at this moment.

When the judges were about to announce the result, she had a bad feeling about it…
