My Youth Began With Him

Han Yueyao suppressed her pain and replied, “I got in an accident and hurt my ankle.”

“My goodness. You got injured at this hour? Can you dance in a moment?”

“I can.” Han Yueyao’s tone was firm.

“No, no. If you dance, you might cripple your foot. How about this? I’ll go and ask the show to give you some time to go to the hospital.” The agent was about to go to the directors.

“Please don’t. I… can do it.”

Han Yueyao was very stubborn since she didn’t want to waste the rare opportunity Su Yu gave her.

Furthermore, she didn’t want to ruin the chance for Yuan Bo.

At this moment, Yuan Bo came in, flanked by lots of assistants.

His agent didn’t have a good opinion of Han Yueyao, thinking the latter entered the show through her special connections.

“If you’re ready, go ahead. Don’t stall.”

Yuan Bo’s agent urged Han Yueyao.

They were ushered to the entrance of the stage to wait for their turn.

Yuan Bo happened to look down and noticed her swollen ankle.

“Damn it… Can you do it or not? Will you die on the stage?”

“Don’t worry… I won’t,” Han Yueyao said through her clenched teeth.

Yuan Bo was about to say something when the hostess announced, “Let’s welcome the Bo-Yao team with our warmest applause.”

Hand in hand, Han Yueyao and Yuan Bo walked up to the stage.

They chose Tango for today. Tango has big movements and if she missed a beat, she’d be in trouble.

Han Yueyao had underestimated the seriousness of her wound.

She could bear the pain while walking, but when she danced, the pain was so excruciating that she wished she were dead.

A few moments later, she knew she couldn’t make it.

The audience were far from them and didn’t notice her discomfort, but Yuan Bo saw the sweat on her forehead when he put his arm around her waist.

“Damn it. You must be in great pain. What to do? Maybe… we must stop…”

They took the opportunity to exchange a few words in low voices.

“I’m fine. Let’s continue,” Han Yueyao said the words with great difficulty.

She gritted her teeth to suppress the pain…

Unfortunately, she made a mistake with a difficult move.

She was supposed to spin a circle and then leaned down for Yuan Bo to catch her.

But as she spun, the pain was so great that she leaned down a beat earlier than she should.

Yuan Bo couldn’t move fast enough to catch her, so she fell to the floor…

Astonished, the audience and the judges went silent.

Yuan Bo was stupefied, too; quickly, he bent down and helped her up.

Gritting her teeth, she finished the last few steps until the music stopped. They bowed at the audience.

Before Han Yueyao could speak, Yuan Bo explained, “I’m sorry, but my partner injured her foot before we came up stage. The injury is serious, but she didn’t want to disappoint you and insisted on doing the dance. We apologize for the small mistake, but let’s give a big hand to this stubborn girl for her commitment to her job.”

Hearing his words, the audience understood the situation and gave them a thunderous applause.

Abashed, Han Yueyao bowed deeply.

Yuan Bo held her hand and walked to the backstage.

When they were in the powder room, Yuan Bo asked her, “How on earth did you injure your foot?”

As a veteran in the show business, Yuan Bo knew someone must have injured her intentionally before the performance began; it couldn’t have been an accident.
