My Youth Began With Him

Understanding her meaning, Han Yueyao smiled in embarrassment.

Taking off her coat, she went to help Su Xiaoxiao wash vegetables.

It was only a small hot pot, but big enough for two girls.

On the table were beef slice rolls, vegetables, rice noodles, white gourd, and sauce bought from the supermarket.

On this cold and gloomy day in the north, I was happy to eat hot pot.

Dressed in a white Armani short-sleeved T-shirt and a pair of jeans, she looked neat and crisp with her short hair.

With her hair pulled up in a ponytail, Han Yueyao looked gently dressed in a short V-neck loose sweater.

The two girls had been friends for a long time now.

Su Xiaoxiao was rich and often bought fruits, snacks, and nuts for the two of them.

However, Han Yueyao didn’t want to take advantage of this; she wasn’t rich, but she bought stuff for their daily use such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, toilet paper, towels, and laundry detergent which were things Su Xiaoxiao would never remember to buy. Besides, she often helped Su Xiaoxiao do laundry and cleaning. Generally, they went along quite well.

Then the girls sat down to have hot pot.

Su Xiaoxiao put her new iPhone X on the table; it was black with a storage size of 256 G. It was a high-end cellphone.

“Yao, why don’t you buy a new phone? This one is super fun; there are lots of new functions,” Su Xiaoxiao said enthusiastically.

She’d spend over 10,000 yuan on a cellphone as casually as we ordinary people would spend 100 yuan.

Since her family was rich, Su Xiaoxiao didn’t know what the word “poverty” meant.

Ever since the people in Imperial Star knew Su Xiaoxiao was Su Yu’s niece, her status in the company had sky rocketed.

Everyone treated her with respect and some even tried to cozy up to her to gain favor from Su Yu.

Some rumors said that Su Xiaoxiao’s father transferred her 100,000 yuan each month as her allowance.

The truth was each month, her father gave her 100,000 yuan; her paternal grandpa gave her 50,000 yuan; her maternal grandpa gave her 50,000 yuan; and Su Yu’s grandpa gave her 50,000 yuan.

Altogether, Su Xiaoxiao had 250,000 yuan each month and she couldn’t spend it even if she ate sea cucumber and abalone each day…

She spent most of her money on luxurious stuff such as brand clothes, shoes, handbags, diamond rings, etc.

“My phone is in good condition. I don’t want to change it yet.” Han Yueyao still used an iPhone 6.

She had bought it with the money she had earned by tutoring kids on dancing.

“Your situation is different now. You’ll be popular, understand? You must buy good stuff and don’t be a miser.”

“I’m not a miser. I just feel the things are still functional and it’s a waste to dump them.” Han Yueyao smiled.

Su Xiaoxiao played on her cellphone while eating hot pot…

Then, a thought occurred to Han Yueyao and she said, “Xiaoxiao, I went to see Lin Hang.”

“Oh…” Su Xiaoxiao had a strange look on her face.

“I returned him the money he had paid for me and I made clear to him that there’s nothing between him and me.”

“Where did you get the money?” Su Xiaoxiao was puzzled.

“I borrowed it from President Su.”

“Um… You’re brave. Didn’t he scold you?” Su Xiaoxiao was a bit afraid of Su Yu.

“No. President Su was very generous; I asked for 50,000 and he loaned me 100,000 yuan.”

“Haha. It’s because you’re popular now. After the show, you’ll make more than this with any endorsement of a product.”

“Anyway, Xiaoxiao, I won’t have anything to do with Lin Hang in the future. I just don’t want it to affect our friendship,” Han Yueyao said frankly.

Su Xiaoxiao was silent for three seconds before saying slowly, “Yao, tonight I plan to tell him my feelings for the last time; if he rejects my love, I’ll probably… leave.”
