My Youth Began With Him

“I took her to Pizza Hut for food.”

“Who asked you to be Mr. Gary Stu (

“Huo Yanyan, I don’t want to argue with you. I’m doing this for Tiantian.”

“Tiantian is my daughter. You don’t need to pretend to be a good person. Bring her back immediately or I’ll call the police,” Huo Yanyan demanded.

“Okay. I’ll bring her back now.” Shen Mingxi didn’t want to argue with her so after he hung up, he looked at Tiantian who was enjoying her food.

He asked, “Tiantian, are you full?”

“Not yet.”

“Let’s wrap up the food and take it home. Your mommy is back and she wants to see you,” Shen Mingxi comforted.

“Okay.”

Tiantian was a good kid. She didn’t throw a tantrum and was very understanding. She obediently left with Shen Mingxi.

Huo Yanyan was waiting at the door.

“Mommy, Uncle Shen took me out for delicious food!”

“Who told you to eat with this man? You cannot eat anything that this man gives you from now on. He is unrelated to us!” Huo Yanyan said. Then she smashed the bag of fries and chicken wings that they wrapped up from Pizza Hut to the ground.

“Wuuu… My chicken wings…” the child cried.

“Huo Yanyan, what are you doing? Do you have any morals at all? She’s your biological daughter!” Shen Mingxi shouted.

“I don’t have morals? Who was it that was scared of going against some powerful people and distanced himself from me…” Huo Yanyan scoffed.

“I told you it’s not that. If your mother was innocent, I would have helped her till the end. I wasn’t afraid of going against Qin Chu and Su Yu. Can you please be rational and see what really happened?”

“What really happened? Hehe, the reality is that Shen Mingxi, you’re a coward. How could I have slept with you and let you play me for so long? At the end of the day, when I’m in trouble, you ran away the quickest. That is the man I loved. Psh…”

“Whatever. I don’t want to argue with you anymore. I brought her home so I did my part. Take care.”

Shen Mingxi then turned around and walked away. However, he quickly remembered something and he threw a kraft paper bag on the ground.

“I got those pictures back for you. I taught him a lesson. What I do want to warn you is that you’re a mother… If you’re detested by others, Tiantian will have a hard time at school. People will also label her because of you. I don’t want her to have to live that way. For Tiantian, this is the last time I’ll help you. I hope you’d think before taking action. As a woman, as a mother, be more cautious…”

Shen Mingxi walked away in big strides.

Huo Yanyan bent down and picked up the kraft paper bag. She looked at the nudes and suddenly felt a huge sense of despair.

It seemed like she really couldn’t turn back now… Things would only get worse from here on.

“Mommy, I really like Uncle Shen. I was scared to be home alone. I called you but I couldn’t reach you so I called Uncle Shen. That’s why Uncle Shen came to pick me up. He bought me new clothes, got my hair pretty, and took me to eat delicious chicken wings.”

Each and every word of her child were like stabs from a sharp knife into her heart. Why did Huo Yanyan say such mean things to Shen Mingxi?

Him not helping her when she needed him the most was only one of the reasons.

Most importantly, she understood that no matter what, there was no turning back for them…

While Shen Mingxi drove, he felt his heartache. Every time he saw Huo Yanyan, the beautiful memories of their past would cross his mind.

Suddenly, he heard a loud honk from a truck. When he wanted to stop, it was already too late…
