My Youth Began With Him

“Sit down first,” Qin Chu waved his hand and said with great tenderness.

“Okay.”

Huo Mian knew Qin Chu wasn’t a man who did things on a whim, and he would never interfere with her work without a good reason.

So, she took the chair opposite Qin Chu obediently.

“Eat the noodles.”

“Um…”

“Please… We’ll talk after we finish the noodles,” Qin Chu soothed her.

“Okay.”

Looking at the steaming ramen, Huo Mian lowered her head and began eating with great enjoyment.

While she ate, Qin Chu kept picking up the beef slices in his bowl and putting them into Huo Mian’s.

“Eat some more. You’ve been working hard lately.”

“Hey! Aren’t you afraid I’d become as fat as a pig?” Huo Mian chuckled.

“No. I’d be happy if you become as fat as a pig; there would be fewer guys loving you…” Mr. Qin said in a low voice.

Huo Mian didn’t catch the words.

“Huh? What did you say, Honey? Can you be louder?”

“Nothing. Enjoy your noodles.”

The husband and wife sat in Ah-Xin’s Ramen cozily and ate the warm ramen.

Finishing the last bite, Huo Mian dabbed at her lips with satisfaction and took a swig of soda.

“Honey, can we talk now?”

“Shen Jiani was sent to your hospital after the crash, right?”

“Yeah. Oh, I was about to ask you about Shen Jiani. Was the crash an accident or something you arranged?” Huo Mian asked suddenly.

“If I tell you the car crash was arranged by me, will you dislike me?” Qin Chu looked at Huo Mian and asked earnestly.

Huo Mian was silent.

To tell the truth, she had never thought of this and thus didn’t know how to answer when Qin Chu brought it up all of a sudden.

“It’s hard to answer?”

“No. I just have never thought about it. To tell you the truth, if it was in the past, I might have thought it was wrong, but now, standing in the position of a parent, I don’t think it’s wrong. If we must show mercy to them, why couldn’t Shen Jiani and He Yongjun show mercy to us? If something happened to Little Bean and Pudding, everything would be meaningless. So, I totally understand your behavior as a father who loves dearly his daughters. I’d support you even if you played dirty to deal with them, even if the things you did were on the other side of the law.”

“Honey, I’m happy to hear that. I know you were willing to do the operation for her because every patient is equal before you. I understand your perspective,” Qin Chu said.

“Honey, do you think I acted a bit like Mary Sue?” Huo Mian licked the corner of her mouth.

“No, you’re not that. As a good doctor, you are performing your basic duty… If I must be picky, I might say my wife is a bit stubborn, spoiled, and too principled.”

“Whoa… I have so many shortcomings?” Huo Mian laughed.

“Despite all these shortcomings, Huo Mian is still my beloved woman.”

“Mr. Qin, is today a special day for declaring love? Is it right to show your love for me in a public place?” Huo Mian blushed and smiled at him.

Qin Chu reached out and touched the back of her hand gently.

“Mian, Shen Jiani is dead.”

“Dead? Just now?” She had expected it but was still a little surprised.

“Yes. Just now.” Qin Chu nodded.

“So… You sent people to get me because you were afraid Huo Yanyan would return to the hospital and cause trouble for me. Right?” Huo Mian suddenly understood why her husband did this.
