Chapter 2321: Revealing the Trump Cards

...

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Heartless Dream relentlessly bombarded Owen with a series of swift strikes from his Legendary Hammer, forcing the latter to retreat repeatedly.

He then twirled the massive weapon around his body, generating even greater momentum before suddenly bringing it crashing down toward his opponent.

WHOOSH!

Owen, on the other hand, continued retreating, using each step to disperse the residual force he couldn’t fully absorb from their previous exchanges.

He then gathered the remaining force within his body and channeled it into his next movement before swinging his round shield to intercept the incoming attack.

BANG!

Under Owen’s precise control, the hammerhead struck the center of his round shield once again.

The impact spread evenly across the shield’s surface, allowing him to disperse most of the force while absorbing the remainder and circulating it throughout his body.

Swoosh!

Owen immediately redirected the accumulated force toward his right arm before swinging the heavy mace in his hand.

Bang!

The mace collided with the metal shaft of Heartless Dream’s Legendary Hammer.

The two combatants held their respective positions for a brief moment before the force of the collision finally drove them apart.

On the surface, their exchange appeared relatively straightforward.

However, beneath those seemingly simple movements lay multiple layers of calculations and hidden confrontations.

Every step, every deflection, and every change in the trajectory of their weapons served a specific purpose.

And they were trying to accomplish the same thing—to disrupt their opponent’s momentum before it could reach its peak.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Immediately after the exchange, both combatants began rebuilding the momentum they had lost, preparing to continue their respective techniques.

Since they were both highly experienced in momentum-gathering techniques, neither could afford to allow the other to accumulate too much force.

Once one side gained a decisive advantage in momentum, the other would be forced into an increasingly disadvantageous position.

That was why they repeatedly sought opportunities to disrupt each other’s rhythm before their accumulated momentum could reach a dangerous level.

Unfortunately, this also meant that neither side could maintain their techniques long enough to fully unleash their maximum destructive potential.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Heartless Dream swiftly regained his footing before twirling the Legendary Hammer around his body once again, using the resulting momentum to sustain his Dance of the Golden Hammer.

However, he soon realized that continuing at this pace would make it extremely difficult to bring the battle to an end.

Neither side could gain a decisive advantage for long, and the repeated interruptions were preventing their techniques from reaching their full potential.

”Tsk! I guess I have no choice but to use that,” Heartless Dream clicked his tongue, realizing that he would have to rely on his ultimate trump card.

He was planning to activate the special abilities attached to his Legendary Hammer.

Like most Legendary Items and Equipment available at the current stage of the game, the weapon remained partially sealed.

Some of its unique features had already been unlocked, but their power was still restricted to weaker versions of their original abilities.

The Legendary Swords in Shin’s possession were in a similar state.

Even so, these partially unlocked abilities remained far more powerful than anything most mainstream players could currently obtain.

Bang!

Heartless Dream suddenly swung his Legendary Hammer with tremendous force, releasing a powerful shockwave that swept through the surrounding canyon.

He then casually rested the weapon across his shoulders and looked directly at Owen. ”Consider yourself fortunate. You’re one of the few who have forced me to use this.”

Boom!

The moment those words left his mouth, an overwhelming pressure suddenly erupted from his body.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

At almost the same moment, the crimson runes engraved across the head of Heartless Dream’s Legendary Hammer began to glow with a sinister golden radiance, their light spreading throughout the weapon.

BOOM!

The moment the runes fully activated, everything within a fifteen-meter radius of Heartless Dream seemed to sink.

It was as though the gravity in the surrounding area had suddenly multiplied several times over, making it considerably harder for anyone caught within its range to move freely.

Only Heartless Dream himself remained unaffected by the sudden change.

”Huh!?” Owen, who was standing near the edge of the affected area, immediately sensed the change.

Bang!

The sudden increase in gravity nearly forced his knees to buckle, especially with the weight of his heavy armor pressing down on him.

Realizing the danger, Owen immediately kicked off the ground and retreated, putting as much distance as possible between himself and the center of the gravitational field.

”Gravity Control?” Owen muttered grimly as he stared at Heartless Dream.

He immediately understood the predicament he was in.

For someone wearing heavy armor and relying on a Knight’s fighting style, gravity-based crowd control was among the most troublesome abilities he could encounter.

Even with his exceptional physical strength, an ability that multiplied the force of gravity could severely restrict his movements, making it much harder for him to dodge or reposition himself.

”This is more than just trouble...” Owen muttered, his brows furrowing deeply.

...

Meanwhile, Heartless Dream had finally finished activating the special ability attached to his Legendary weapon.

’Legendary Weapon Skill (Battle Hammer): Gravity Manipulation – Dark Domain’

With this ability, Heartless Dream was confident that he could suppress Owen’s mobility and eventually bring the match to an end.

Bang!

Having made up his mind, Heartless Dream immediately charged toward his opponent.

Swoosh!

The gravitational domain moved with him, its effective range following his movements as he pursued Owen.

However—

Whoosh!

Something unexpected happened.

The moment Heartless Dream began advancing, Owen immediately changed direction and fled toward the towering canyon walls.

Heartless Dream had expected Owen to retreat.

After all, the gravitational field he had summoned was particularly effective against Knight-type classes, whose heavy armor and equipment already limited their mobility.

Despite the tremendous speed granted by Owen’s Thunderbird Divine Tattoo, escaping the domain’s effective range should still have been difficult.

Heartless Dream was confident that he could eventually corner Owen, especially with the limited space available within the canyon.

Unfortunately, he hadn’t expected Owen to exploit the surrounding terrain in such an unexpected manner.

Swoosh!

Crackle! Crackle!

Golden lightning flashed around Owen as he raced toward the canyon wall.

He planted his feet against the rocky surface and propelled himself upward, rapidly climbing the wall before launching himself into the air.

By doing so, he managed to evade the approaching gravitational field before Heartless Dream could close the distance.

”Clever!” Heartless Dream had to admit that Owen had chosen an effective way to escape his current predicament.

However, he naturally had another solution. ”If you think I can’t reach you just because you’re in the air, then you’re gravely mistaken!”

Whoosh!

Heartless Dream suddenly twirled the Legendary Hammer, drawing the gravitational force he controlled inward.

The domain immediately began contracting, its effective radius shrinking from fifteen meters to barely a meter around his body.

However, the reduction in range came with a tremendous increase in intensity.

The gravitational force concentrated around Heartless Dream became several times stronger, causing the air around him to tremble beneath its oppressive weight.

BOOM!

Immediately afterward, an invisible column of force erupted around Heartless Dream, dragging everything within its reach toward him.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

At almost the same moment, Heartless Dream swung his Legendary Hammer in a wide arc.

WHOOSH!

The invisible column seemed to follow the trajectory of his swing, bending and sweeping through the air alongside the weapon.

’Legendary Weapon Skill (Battle Hammer): Gravity Manipulation – Dark Attraction’

Swoosh!

Owen, who was still suspended in the air, suddenly felt an invisible force seize his body and pull him toward Heartless Dream.

Whoosh!

Recognizing the danger, Owen immediately activated one of his Skills to force himself back toward the ground.

’Ancient Protector Skill (Tier 2): Meteor Descent’

Swoosh!

The sudden change in direction placed tremendous strain on Owen’s body, especially as he forced himself downward against the gravitational pull.

BOOM!

Fortunately, his exceptional Constitution allowed him to withstand the impact when he landed without suffering any serious damage.

Nevertheless, Owen couldn’t help but raise his brows at the strange phenomenon he had just experienced. ”What was that?”

Unfortunately, he didn’t have time to dwell on the question.

Heartless Dream was already charging toward him, swinging his Legendary Hammer for another attack.

Swoosh!

The same phenomenon occurred.

As the hammer swept through the air, Owen suddenly felt an invisible force pass through his body before attempting to drag him toward Heartless Dream.

Fortunately, he reacted quickly this time.

He deliberately increased his body’s resistance by channeling his mana into himself before firmly planting his feet against the ground.

The gravitational pull failed to drag him away from his position.

Owen’s expression grew increasingly solemn as he recalled the sensations he had experienced. ’It feels as though an invisible rope is trying to pull me toward him.’

He narrowed his eyes while retreating from Heartless Dream’s next attack. ’The tricky part is that I can sense the force approaching just before it reaches me.’

His gaze shifted toward the Legendary Hammer. ’But it only seems to happen whenever he executes those wide swings.’

Owen’s brows furrowed. ”Is this another ability attached to that Legendary Weapon?”

He couldn’t help but feel troubled.

He had already experienced two special abilities from Heartless Dream’s Legendary Hammer, and both had proven to be far more troublesome than he had initially expected.
