Child of Destiny

Chapter 677: Deathmatch (Part 7): Result

...

Shin calmly stared at the descending fist up in the sky before wearing a smirking smile. ”Not bad for a desperate struggle.”

After that, he released his Elemental Possession before fusing the two sabers that he was holding and transforming them into a huge scythe.

ʼWeapon Skill: The Dusk and Dawnʼ

Shin immediately entered the Reaperʼs State right after the sword transformed into a scythe, further enhancing all of his stats.

After that, he suddenly summoned Solus before asking her to fuse with the scythe. ”Solus!”

When Solus fused with the scythe, a flame with alternating black and white color was suddenly released from it before changing its appearance.

ʼElemental Spirit Possession: (Solar Reaper) Divine Cleaverʼ

At that time, the gigantic demonic fist was almost upon him, so he quickly tightened his grip on his scythe before swinging it upwards while releasing a powerful wave of Fire Elemental Mana towards the sky.

ʼElemental Skill (Solar Fire): Soaring Retributionʼ

Shriek!

Swoosh!

And right after the blazing energy wave was released, it suddenly transformed into a blazing bird that was soaring towards the sky before colliding with the descending fist.

Boom!

A massive cloud of smoke was immediately created right after the collision of the two opposing powers. And when it was starting to clear, a rain of fire started falling from the sky and set the fallen trees in the surrounding ablaze.

In the meantime, Justin was currently wearing a very solemn look on his face. He did everything he could to set up that final card. He put quite a lot of effort to set that combo up while he was trading blows with Shin earlier.

But that was not the only thing that he prepared for this final moment. Right after his previous attack failed, he quickly pulled his left arm backward before quickly thrusting it forward.

Swoosh!

And right after he did that, a huge spiritual arm was suddenly released in front of his hand, making his arm look like it was extending forward.

ʼDemonic General Skill (Tier 2): Demonʼs Gripʼ

Justin knew that Shin would not be able to use any kind of movement skills since he was still under the influence of his silence skill. And because of that, the Demon God was pretty confident that he could restrain Shin this time before the effects of his skill ran out.

In the meantime, Shin quickly flipped the scythe with both of his hands and let it revolve around him before throwing it in the air as if it was some sort of a boomerang.

Swoosh!

The scythe drew an arc in the air while traveling towards Justin. But at the same time, the spiritual arm was almost upon him.

Seeing that, Shin quickly released a spherical barrier around him, trying to block the incoming attack.

ʼSlayer Skill: (Modified) Eclipse Pulseʼ

Bang!

The barrier managed to block the incoming attack but that was not without a price. Shin was pushed back as the barrier itself started to show some cracks on its surface.

Because Shin didnʼt have any weapon right now since he just threw the scythe earlier. And because of that, he couldnʼt use any kind of offensive skill to counterattack.

Fortunately, he still had the ʼTelekinesis Skillʼ. And with the help of that skill, he skillfully controlled the scythe that he threw earlier before sending it towards Justin who was maintaining his stance so that his skill would not get canceled.

But after seeing the scythe that was flying straight to him, Justin had no other choice but to release his stance and get away from the path of the incoming scythe.

Swoosh!

”D*mn it!”

But right after the scythe flew past him, it suddenly curved in the air before propelling itself towards Justin who was still in the middle of his jump.

Justin panicked a little when he saw the sudden change of course of the flying scythe. But at the very last moment, he managed to raise his demonic hand in time and tried to catch the incoming scythe with it.

His hand was about to touch the scythe when a sudden unease rose within him. And due to the unexplainable threat coming from the scythe, Justin unconsciously slapped it instead of catching it.

But because of that decision, the blade of the scythe managed to graze him a little before flying back to Shinʼs hands.

Hu~!

Shin took a deep breath right after he caught the scythe before raising his head and looking at Justin who was standing a few distances away from him. ”This is where it ends.”

Justin was frowning his eyebrows when heard those words. He glared at Shin before opening his mouth, planning to say something.

But before the words were able to leave his mouth, Shin suddenly snapped with his left-hand fingers to activate one of the skills attached to the equipment skills that he was currently wearing.

ʼEquipment Set Additional Skill: Death Sentenceʼ

Then the manifestation of death itself suddenly appeared behind Justin while holding a huge scythe. Sensing its sudden appearance and the threat that was coming from it, Justin tried to get away from it as fast as he could.

Unfortunately, before he could even put his thoughts in action, the hooded skeleton immediately swung its scythe at Justin and severed his head with it.

That sight stunned everyone as they did not expect such a sudden change of development.

The sudden appearance of the giant demonic fist in the sky already surprised everyone, much less the soaring phoenix that Shin released at the very last moment before the descending fist crushed him.

Then what they saw was another quick exchange between the two.

They saw the follow-up attack that Justin made right after his first attempt to finish the fight failed. At that time, everyone was already convinced that this was the moment that would put an end to this match.

But when they thought that everything was already over, Shin proved them wrong once again. He successfully blocked such a sudden attack just like earlier and even managed to control his scythe in the air for a counterattack.

Those thoughts only sank in their heads when they saw Justinʼs head flying in the air. And they stared at the scene in front of their respective screens before their heads finally exploded as they realized what just happened.

”What the f*ck! I almost died from holding my breath for so long!”

”My god! Those final moments almost took my life!”

”D*mn! Sickarius wins once again? And he defeated the Demon God this time?!”

”First was the Lich God Immortal, then it was immediately followed by the Demon God Justin? I wonder who is the next one on his list!”

”I know right? He just took down two of the biggest gods in the game, does it put him on the same level as them?”

”Do you even need to ask? Of course, he is already at their level!”

”Yeah! At this point, he no longer needs to use his other Challenge Rights.”

”Am I the only one who remembers that this match is in a deathmatch mode? Now that the Demon God loses, what will happen to his team now, the Silent Night?”

The live chat was immediately flooded with different messages, and most of them were practically praising Shin.

There were also some that were talking about what was going to happen to Justin and his team. But no one really cared about that topic, since in every match, the winners would always be the star of the show while the losers were going to be forgotten.

In the meantime, both Miss Bunny and Mr. Casanova immediately gave their thoughts about the match for the post-match analysis.

”That was a really satisfying match. So, what are your thoughts, partner?” asked Miss Bunny right after she saw the system announce Shinʼs victory.

On the other hand, Arthur, who was currently in his other persona, pursed his lips a little before responding. ”Both of them sure are great players. But in the end, only the better one can triumph.”

”The Demon God is still worthy of his name, but our challengerʼs battle style happened to be the nemesis of his style.”

”Justin likes to brute force everything since it fits not only his class but also his habits. We can clearly see in the earlier stages of the match that he has a slight advantage, especially in frontal confrontation.”

”But the complexity of Sickariusʼ style is really intriguing. Not only can he change the form of his swords whenever he likes, but his style of battle also changes every time his swords transform.”

He paused for a moment to give Miss Bunny some time to finish her impromptu editing of the match. And since the camera was currently focused on Arthur, no one could see what she was currently doing.

And when the battle clip was finally done, Arthur couldnʼt help but become impressed at her skills before continuing with what he was saying. ”Those early exchanges are pretty much in favor.”

Arthur gave some critical comments while the clip was playing, pointing out the mistakes that both sides had made during the match.

Miss Bunny was also giving some comments of her own to make the conversation healthy and entertaining for both of them and the viewers who were still watching their program.

But while they were still in the middle of their program, they suddenly received a piece of certain news that the World Gaming Organization had personally announced.
