Child of Destiny

Chapter 651: Empyrean Talons (Part 12)

...…

It didnʼt long for the result of the battle to spread in the whole Beast Glade Kingdom, and later to the whole gaming community. And it practically shocked everyone.

At first, the players were expecting this to happen since both the Dragon God Siegfried and the War God Simba were on their side. To most of the players, numbers were useless when it came to these two. They practically face an entire army on their own.

But after seeing the death worms that were accompanying the army of undead, these players started to feel a little skeptical about it, especially that there were 10 death worms in total.

The players were expecting that these 10 death worms would keep the two gods busy. And because of that, the entire undead army would be left unattended. And even if the other members of their group were quite strong as well, people would not believe that they would be able to take on such a huge army on their own.

Moreover, the opposing side was filled with a lot of Necromancers as well, who could summon more undeads to increase their numbers.

Little did they know that they underestimated Shin and the others. Especially the former who kept on assassinating the Necromancers who were responsible for controlling the undead army.

Shin and his Phantom Clone who were in their werewolf forms, were moving throughout the whole battlefield and were pretty much unstoppable as they continued their killing spree. And on top of that, they were also using the ʼPhantom Danceʼ to further increase their efficiency at taking down their targets.

In the meantime, the others were practically bombing the whole army while spamming their skills and spells.

Archimedes and Ithilien were shooting a volley of arrows that poured down at the army of undead below. From time to time, the latter was flying in the air to get a better view of the battlefield before sniping down the strongest enemies that he could see.

On the other hand, Ithilien kept on spamming her skills while infusing each of her arrows with her specialized mana which was pretty much effective against undeads.

Meanwhile, Charlotte and Daulla looked like a pair of cannons who were throwing their spells left and right. And since they only had little numbers on their side, they didnʼt need to concern themselves about hitting their allies. They were free to throw all of their large-scale spells as long as they avoided the places where Shin and Akailu were fighting.

As for the Beastmaster himself, he was practically slaughtering all of the undeads around him with the help of his summoned monsters. And the battle formation that he was doing alongside his monster pets was constantly improving as time went by.

Naturally, they were some Specter Assassins who were trying to eliminate the firepower of the group. But unfortunately, Owen and Alucard would always eliminate them before they could even get near the group.

The formation of the group was airtight where no one could get near them as they ravaged through the entire battlefield.

At first, the players watching the battle from live feeds on the online forums were thinking that Shin and the others could only keep this up for a short amount of time. After all, they were facing a whole army.

But as more time passed, the group consistently repelled their opponents no matter how long the battle was. And they managed to hold their ground up until the opposing side got annihilated, signifying the end of the battle.

Many people started to speculate about the name of the group and there was a particular post that attracted the attention of everyone.

There was nothing special about that post. In fact, it only contains a simple message saying that they knew the name of the adventurer team that the Dragon God and War God were trying to make.

– ”Empyrean Talons” –

That was the name that was mentioned in the anonymous post. And it immediately piqued the interest of every player who saw that post.

That was the name that was mentioned in the anonymous post. And it immediately piqued the interest of every player who saw that particular post. It was not confirmed yet but they still believed it anyway since they thought that it was a very fitting name.

But not long after, the Dragon God himself commented on that very post and admitted everything that the rumors were saying. And that very acknowledgment immediately exploded and shook the entire gaming world.

In the meantime, the man in question immediately closed the virtual screen in front of him before wearing a satisfied smile.

Seeing the expression that Arthur currently had, Leonard couldnʼt help but feel a little suspicious before quickly opening a virtual screen of his own and searching for the most trending topic in the online forums.

Not long after, he immediately discovered what Arthur was smiling for. ”Hey! Are you sure about this? We havenʼt even discussed it with the others.”

Overhearing their conversation, Shin suddenly knitted his brow before chiming in. ”What is it? Did this guy create another trouble again?”

Leonard didnʼt reply to Shin directly and just shared his virtual screen in front of him. ”Just see it for yourself.”

Shin took a quick glance at the virtual screen before slightly nodding his head in a nonchalant manner. ”I see.”

Hearing that, Leonard couldnʼt help but frown his eyebrows before saying. ”Just that? Do you know what it means? We are practically announcing to the whole world that we are entering the competition between the top groups and organizations by saying this.”

Then Shin slightly waved at him and replied. ”That is no big deal. It is not like they are going to harass us directly anyway. Whatʼs more, they also need to think twice before deciding to provoke us.”

”It is going to be a little troublesome if ever they try to attack us. But it doesnʼt mean that they are going to have a nice time bothering us either.”

After that, he patted Leonardʼs shoulder before saying. ”I know what you are concerned about but we canʼt do anything about that. After all, we canʼt hide this fact for a long time. So, it is better to ride the wave while it is still rushing before the momentum dies down.”

”You want to gain some fame? I thought you donʼt want to attract any more attention than what you have right now?” said Leonard sneeringly while putting his arm around Shinʼs shoulders.

Hearing that, Shin couldnʼt help but smirk before sneering back. ”Heh! It is not like I am the face of the group. Didnʼt the ʼrumorsʼ say that you and Arthur are the ones who are building the team?”

”Tsk! So, that is how it is,” said Leonard as he clicked his tongue.

After that, Arthur suddenly cut in and said. ”Hey! I just thought of a good advertisement for our adventurer team. Do you want to hear it?”

”Nope, not interested,” said Shin, rejecting Arthur in an instant.

”Tsk! You are not even going to listen? This is going to boost the earnings that we can get from our official Adventurer Team Website,” said Arthur sulkily and disappointed.

In the meantime, Shin suddenly paused when he heard those words and quickly turned to his brother, asking. ”Wait! Earnings? Adventurer Team Website? How come you didnʼt discuss this with me before?”

Hearing that, Arthur looked at Shin innocently before asking. ”Eh!? You didnʼt know about it? I thought you knew about it already.”

Then Arthur continued after realizing that Shin really didnʼt have an idea about what he was talking about. ”Every organization within the game has their own websites where their fans can donate some money as a form of support. As simple as that.”

”Some of the famous Rankers and Godlike Players also have their own channels since they are practically celebrities within the game,” added Leonard as he jumped back in the conversation.

Shin turned silent for a couple of moments before looking back at Arthur while saying. ”We will hear about your plan once we are done with our job here.”

After that, he turned his head up front where the capital city of the Beast Glade Kingdom was located. It was still under attack by the undead monsters from all sides.

The players were desperately doing everything they could to defend the city as the army of undead were trying to overwhelm the former with their sheer numbers alone.

”The situation doesnʼt look too good,” said Owen as he looked ahead.

Hearing that, the others nodded their heads in acknowledgment as they could also see that the inside of the city was also under attack.

”So, how are we going to deal with this one?” asked Akailu as he observed the battle happening outside the city walls.

Shin thought for a couple of moments before saying to them. ”Cloe and Chaos are still not responding to my messages, so I will head over to their place first. Iʼll leave everything here to you.”

”Tsk! Tsk!” Arthur clicked his tongue repeatedly while shaking his head. ”Alright, do your thing. Leave this place for us to clean.”

Shin didnʼt even wait for the others to voice out their thoughts as he quickly disappeared and headed over to the place where Cloe and Chaotic Luck were fighting.

On the other hand, Arthur assumed the leading position and said to others. ”Okay, guys! This should be our last task, so how about we end it with a style?”
