I Am Diagnosed as a Medical Titan

Chapter 139: Chapter 122: The Childhood Friend Wants an Eye-Opener (Part 2)

Jiang He nodded and didn’t interrupt.

Listening to his old classmate’s lecture was beneficial for him as well.

’It’s a glimpse into the mind of a top medical student from the Class of ’08... This will help me get a better grasp on the pressing issues of this generation.’

Seeing how attentively Jiang He was listening,

Lin Han nodded.

He appreciated people who took things seriously.

So, to help Jiang He secure a good rank, Lin Han held nothing back.

”And here, for fluid resuscitation in hemorrhagic shock, if the competition tests you on massive transfusions, you must be able to accurately describe the crystalloid-to-colloid fluid ratio, as well as the need for warming and calcium supplementation during the transfusion. The details are what determine success or failure.”

Jiang He replied, ”Got it. The details determine success or failure.”

While one was earnestly teaching and the other patiently listening,

the atmosphere at the next table grew somewhat strange.

Pan Wen had just sat down with his tray when several students from the clinical program started jabbing him frantically with their elbows.

”Senior Brother Pan, over there... is that River God?”

Pan Wen glanced over. ”It’s Jiang He. What’s wrong?”

”Who’s that guy in the Zhongshan suit sitting across from River God?” one of the guys asked in a hushed, shocked voice. ”I was walking past and overheard a little. It sounded like he was teaching River God how to perform a thoracentesis, and even how to do a primary survey in an emergency...”

At these words, medical students at several nearby tables gasped.

Who at Southern Medical University didn’t know Jiang He’s name these days?

He was the guy the university had given special permission to skip classes! The guy who’d used a paper from a top journal like LNR to completely obliterate Professor Sun Changming’s team at the pre-review meeting! And, according to the rumors, he was the Chief Surgeon Asura!

Rumor had it that even Master Extinction, Wang Xiaoqing herself, had to privately ask Jiang He for advice on structuring her papers.

And now, some guy was sitting in the cafeteria, flipping through a notebook and lecturing him on the basics like a strict dean?

”Holy shit, that presence... Could he be some expert sent down by the provincial authorities?”

”But he looks so young. Still, with that slicked-back hair and the Zhongshan suit, he seems completely unfathomable.”

”Duh. Do you think any ordinary person could get River God to nod along and listen so obediently? Didn’t you see that look on his face? He’s completely focused on learning.”

As the crowd murmured amongst themselves, their gazes toward Lin Han gradually acquired a filter of awe.

Half an hour went by.

Jiang He glanced at his phone. It was one in the afternoon.

He still had to go to Affiliated Hospital No. 1 to double-check some case data.

”Old Lin, your notes are really well-organized.” Jiang He closed the notebook and handed it back. ”I’ve got some things to take care of for a research project this afternoon, so I have to get going.”

Lin Han took the notebook, his brows knitting together once more.

”A research project? You’re only a third-year. Why are you messing around with research instead of building a solid foundation in your basic clinical skills?”

Lin Han sounded disapproving, but he said anyway, ”Well, if it’s just work your advisor forced on you, I guess it can’t be helped. Go on, then. Just remember the emergency response principles I emphasized. Don’t panic if something unexpected happens.”

”Okay. I hope your venue check goes smoothly this afternoon.”

Jiang He picked up his cane, got to his feet, and walked steadily out of the cafeteria.

Watching Jiang He’s retreating figure, Lin Han picked up his glass of water and took a sip.

’It’s been a few years, but the kid’s definitely matured a lot.’

’He’s lost that flightiness from high school, and he was really focused while I was talking.’

’As long as he performs as expected in the competition, he should have no problem placing somewhere in the middle of the pack.’

Lin Han tucked the notebook into his briefcase, fastened the clasp, and got ready to leave.

Just then, three figures suddenly closed in, surrounding him.

Lin Han froze, his gaze turning stern as he looked at the three students in Southern Medical University uniforms before him.

The one leading them was none other than Pan Wen.

The three of them adopted an extremely deferential posture.

Pan Wen rubbed his hands together and said reverently, ”Excuse me... Master. Hello.”

Lin Han’s brow furrowed. ”What is it?”

”Master, we were at the next table and saw you personally instructing River God. We’re all about to start our clinical internships, but we just can’t seem to get the hang of emergency medicine.”

The two upperclassmen behind him nodded eagerly, their eyes fervent.

”Yeah, Master.”

”We were wondering, Master, if it would be convenient... to give us your contact info? A QQ number, maybe? That way, if we run into trouble with our studies in the future, we could ask you for some pointers?”

Lin Han froze.

’River God?’

’Are they talking about Jiang He? Why?’

’Why can’t I understand a single thing these students are saying?’

And...

’Since when am I a ”Master”?’

’All I did was distill the key points from the textbook and go over them with Jiang He, that’s all.’

Lin Han was about to explain that he was just a third-year medical student himself.

But as the words reached his lips, he looked at the three pairs of pleading eyes before him.

For some reason, a pleasant feeling suddenly welled up inside him.

It felt like a gentle breeze passing over a nerve that had been perpetually taut.

He was, after all, just a young man in his early twenties. Being called ”Master” with such reverence... even someone as serious as him couldn’t help but enjoy it a little.

Lin Han cleared his throat and said,

”My research load is quite heavy, so I rarely use messaging apps.”

Hearing this, Pan Wen and the others looked disappointed, but at the same time, they felt this was exactly how a top-tier master would act.

But then, Lin Han pulled a fountain pen from the pocket of his Zhongshan suit and changed his tune.

”However, academic discussion is a good thing. Write down your numbers, and I’ll add you when I have a moment.”

”Yes, of course! Thank you, Master!”

As if he’d just been handed a priceless treasure, Pan Wen hastily pulled a napkin from his pocket, reverently wrote down all three of their QQ numbers, and offered it to Lin Han with both hands.

Lin Han: ”?”

He frowned. ”I have a notebook. What are you doing?”
