Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1035: Chapter 369: Both Suffer Defeat; Great Awakening Yan Long Master—2 Dead, 3 Injured; Unexpected Encounter

Clang......

Xiahou Zhang had been defeated once before, and his left arm was clearly still injured. Now facing the advancing Vajra Master, he dared not be careless, swiftly raising his Ink Silver Blade to guard his face.

The Vajra Master aimed directly at his head, and the fist collided fiercely with the big saber. Just like last time, there was a violent clash of metal, creating a shockwave that flipped over hundreds of soldiers below.

Xiahou Zhang endured the impact, retreating more than ten meters, his saber shaking wildly; while the Vajra Master who attacked him stood still, his gaze cold.

They were fighting in a low-altitude area, at most two to three hundred meters from the ground. The power of one at the Xianyang Level could easily have hundreds of mane impacts, and even a slight collision could shock many in the Earth-digging Realm to death.

Fortunately, their duel was outside the pass to the east, where two thousand Defensive Army, Xianyang Level of the Seven Towns, and Zen Temple Bhikkhus from Dajue Temple were entangled, precisely following Jiang Yuanlong’s breakthrough.

”Retreat quickly!”

Xiahou Zhang’s shout revealed his lack of fighting spirit, choosing to battle at this low altitude just to knock over the Zen Temple Bhikkhus outside, allowing Jiang Yuanlong and others to retreat in time.

”Retreat!”

Jiang Yuanlong and the others could have retreated, but they stayed to widen the escape route for the Earth-digging Realm in the rear. Seeing Xiahou Zhang suffer in the first exchange with the Vajra Master and hearing his urgent plea, they dared not linger any longer. With a shout, they led the remaining Defensive Army and crazily fled eastward.

The remaining Cold Resistance Level soldiers of the Seven Towns also ran frantically behind him.

Next were the 180,000 Earth-digging Realm, though now far fewer, possibly just over 100,000, also scrambling to escape eastward, fearing they might lag behind.

”I am Yan Xin, the chief disciple of Great Awakening Yan Long Master, from Dajue Temple. From now on, all from the Nine Towns in the Earth-digging Realm who kneel and disarm will be spared. I promise to release you all back to your towns after the war. Those who stubbornly assault the pass will be killed without mercy!”

The voice of Yan Xin echoed across the battlefield. Initially, those who laid down their weapons were few, but as Jiang Yuanlong led the Defensive Army and all the Cold Resistance Levels to retreat, and the pass was closed again, the numbers began to surge.

”Demon Temple, your heart is punishable.”

Clang......

”Army Chief Xiahou, you’d better worry about yourself first!”

Hearing Yan Xin’s shout below, Xiahou Zhang’s dread of Dajue Temple surged to the extreme. Despite his age, he could see clearly that releasing people was clearly a move to win over hearts.

Once these people were released, who in the village-level camps below would fight to the death against Dajue Temple in the future?

Unfortunately, just as he uttered the words ’your heart is punishable’, he was entangled by the Vajra Master again. The Ink Silver Blade hastily guarded his head but it couldn’t prevent the usual outcome of being punched away.

Buzz......

His right arm trembled violently, blood seeping from his tiger’s mouth, barely holding onto his saber. Yet, the Vajra Master’s assault was relentless, giving him no respite.

Clang... Clang......

Xiahou Zhang glanced at the gap below, seeing that more than half had knelt and disarmed, his expression turned much more disheartened.

He knew full well he was no match for the Vajra Master, so he’d been fighting to save as many Earth-digging Realm as possible.

But now, it was clearly too late!

Boom......

In high-level combat, distraction is most feared.

A moment of distraction allowed the Vajra Master to seize the opportunity, diving fiercely from the sky, delivering a deadly palm towards his head.

Though the Ink Silver Blade was still positioned overhead, Xiahou Zhang, having fought so long, showed signs of exhaustion. Had he not tilted the blade at the last moment, the Ink Silver Blade might have cleaved into his own head.

Yet, even so, the flat of the blade bearing the Vajra Master’s seven-jun force came crashing down on his skull, smashing him directly to the ground from mid-air.

Crash......

With ice everywhere at Hongguan Port and the Xianyang Level’s body strength combined with the downward momentum of seven-jun force, Xiahou Zhang’s landing did not scatter any snow mist but directly cracked the ground’s ice, embedding him like a stake into the earth.

”Prepare to die!”

Seeing Xiahou Zhang severely injured by him, the Vajra Master, relentless, eyes cold, appeared above his head almost immediately after he fell.

His look was murderous, body shimmering with golden light, transforming his right hand into a blade, slamming down towards Xiahou Qin’s head.

That strike, if it landed, would be fatal.

”Army Chief!”

”Sir.”

.........

On the eastern outskirts, Jiang Yuanlong, Jiang Yuanhua, Xiahou Qin, and over a dozen Jiangxia leaders, who hadn’t gone far, were filled with fear and shock upon witnessing this scene.

Conversely, the Dajue Temple side, whether Yan Xin or the other four chief Bhikkhus, as well as the Zen Temple Bhikkhus or the Cold Resistance Level Earth-digging Realm from Qinghepu, were all extremely excited, clearly anticipating what was to happen.

Whoosh......

However, just at this critical moment.

A black chilling blade suddenly aimed for the Vajra Master’s face.
